Seriously, this flat iron works great!! My sister has had one for about two years and she told me to get one, and I finally did. I've had it for over a month now and I love it. I spend at the most 10 minutes on my hair and it looks smooth, straight & healthy. My sister has thick/long hair(& mines a little thinner), but she said she spends about 10-15 at the most. If you buy this flat iron you will not be sorry!! Trust me, it's a MUST HAVE!! =]

This straightener is one of a kind. Its design is wonderful. Fabolous for hair straightening, curling, or flipping. My hair has never looked so natural and beautifull..I love it

I am an African American female, who's a hair fanatic! Honestly, my friends and I are serious about hair tools and products and I have to say that this flat iron is the best. My current stylist uses this iron on all of her clients, long or short hair. I've used Solia, but I noticed that I had to go stands of hair more than twice to get the desired straightness opposed to the once over by HAI.

Ive had it a while now and its workd perfect. I have the thickest most curliest hair and it makes in PIN striaght!! I LOVE IT!!! Theres nothing bad to say about it. It heats up fast, does not pull my hair and make it straight in seconds even if the weather is humid.

I really love this flat iron! it's a cheaper alternative than spending over $100 on the CHI! however, i've never owned a chi (but have had hairdressers use it on me)...it certainly gives the CHI a run for its money! I only used the flat iron once...and since it's summertime I usually wear my hair curly most of the time anyways...but this fall i'm sure ill get much use out of it!

i like the hai flat iron because it doesn't leave any hairs unstraitend.it makes my hair straiter than i've ever had my hair befor. and now that i finaly have a str5aitener that works for my kind of hair my hair is strait every day.

I've only had this flat iron for a week or two, but it is great. Reading other reviews, the only negative thing I've heard is that it stops working or breaks pretty early on, and I haven't had it long enough to tell, but so far so good. I have tried cheap wal mart flat irons, I have bought a cheaper ($30-) flat iron from a beauty supply store. But nothing turns my thick, coarse, curly hair stick straight - I always get waves and frizz. I live in Florida, which makes it even worse. I even sat in a salon for hours and had my hair chemically straightened to no avail. In fact, I have been so exasperated with my hair I have been shaving my head for the past few years. Right now I have a mohawk, which is getting rather long, so it is getting harder and harder to maintain. A friend flat ironed my hair with a Ceramic Tools straightener, and it was stick straight (although very fluffy - very 80's) - I decided I needed a more expensive iron. So I went all out and bought a hai convertable (the "new and improved" kind, which this specific one apparently is by the appearance of it). My hair has never been so straight, other than when a flat iron was used on my hair in a salon once. It straightens it so much, it can leave a little kink in your hair where you started, from the hair going from wavy to straight, if you're not careful (which is a good sign). Not only is it straight, it is very silky and smooth for once in my life. The Hai Convertable heats up very fast and has a temperature control dial that goes up to 400 degrees, and a LED light that blinks when the set temperature is achieved. According to their site, the Hai only uses 50 watts of energy. It is light and has a great, easy design; it feels nice to use and it clamps down nicely on hair without puling it.
If you have unruly hair that hasn't responded to previous treatments and products - if the idea of shaving your head has ever crossed your mind out of exasperation - the Hai Convertable is neccessary for straight, smooth hair.
Pics for idea... excuse the haircut. My hair probably doesn't look so bad in the picture because it is short "baby hair", but I am sure that the hai would have worked when I had long hair.

I've used certain irons from CHI to Corioliss, which have been borrowed from friends. I decided it was time to purchase my own since I am a woman of color, and also in college. I can't always afford to get my hair done and don't have transportation in my home away from home. Upon doing research, i decided to purchase a HAI. At first, this iron was so-so, but when i got the hang of it..it worked great and all my friends love to borrow it too. (My friends CHI iron broke when it fell-one of the plates fell out). I recommend this iron to all women of color before any other iron. GREAT PRODUCT! Below I have placed a picture of the turn-out of my hair after using this product. GREAT RESULTS!

I have had many many straighteners in the last few years and this one is by far my favorite. It heats up really quickly and slides through my naturally curly hair.

This is my second flat iron i bought one two years ago it lasted for a year. For whatever reasons I bought another one again this one lasted for 5 months. I would never never buy this flat iron again.

This is my 2nd attempt at having my review posted. So here goes: I had a CHI iron for over five years and it stopped working. My stylist said this flat iron was good and less expensive. She was right. This works fine and I have no complaints. It does not glide across your hair, one reviewer commented on that but it does not snag or tangle my hair either. My hair is extremely wiry and coarse. I use a round brush and blow dry before using the flat iron and it works as well as the CHI. For the money I believe it is a good value.

I absolutely LOVED this hair straightener. but the KEY word is LOVED. What I loved most about this was the "smooth and shine" feature that simply glides over your hair without any snagging.
So, I had one of these already but decided to purchase a second one so that my sister and I could both use our own instead of having to share it.
Unfortunately, when I purchased the 2nd one, it didnt work like the first one. It snagged... and my hair (which is not course) seemed to be scratching the plates. Confused (because I had bought the EXACT same one), I compared the two, the only difference was that the first one was made in Korea and the second in China.
When I called the company to complain... they said they would happily replaced it... but then when i asked them what the problem was.. they said the plates made in China are different than the original ones and don't work the same.
Therefore, I returned the product and purchased the SEDU which i absolutely love. I used to wonder why ppl didnt want to purchase products made in China... now I know.

Oh my gosh, I have tried so many hair straighteners. This one is by far my favorite. It straightens my hair quickly, and I have to go over the pieces less than I usually would. Also, after I'm at work and all sweaty and nasty and wearing a hat, when I take the hat off my hair is still straight! Its great. Lasts all day. I also live in houston where it is god-awful humid and hot, and my hair is still great all day. yay!

I bought the HAI flat iron in august of 2007 after reading how well it worked on African American hair. HAI allows me to go 2 1/2 to 3 mo. before getting a touch up. I can let my hair air dry and then use it. It makes my hair very straight and managable. I can also create a curly look. It's very durable, I dropped it a couple of time and it still works great!

I have had this straighter for about 3 years now. I use it ever day. I have never had any trouble with it - I also have tried many many flat irons. This is by far the best brand and the best one they make. It is a great price too!! I would recommend it to ANYONE.

This is an amazing straightner! UNTIL it just stops working after a couple of months. I have sent two of them back and now another one just stopped working. I am not even going to bother. I am on to a different product!

This product is great!! I have had mine for 7 years (2 of those years i used the Sedu which i got as a gift, which is also an amazing iron but broke before 1 year) and it still works as great as it did the first year. Definitely takes some time to get your hair pin straight, but a very durable product.
