Honest Opinion on the HAI

I love the iron so much...but it broke on me...TWICE...It broke the first time the wire gets loose and it won't eat up as well so i bought another one thinking if i have to buy one a year its worth it...well my second one hasn't even lasted me more than 6 months...and I take great care of it. Once I'm done using it I put it back in the box but still the wire failed me...so as much as I love the HAI I'm looking for a different one where the wire doesn't break!
good straightener but only for a limited time

I got a HAI straightener as a gift more than 2 and a half years ago and it is a huge improvement from any straightener you can find at a drugstore. It straightens really well and pretty quickly too. However, a few weeks ago the wiring started to give and it's ready to die completely. The plates also recently started to show some loosening and one fell out. Though I was able to put the plate back into place, I now need to buy a new straightener and I most likely will not be buying this one. It was not until these past few weeks that I doubted the quality of this straightener so I would only warn those considering buying one of these against the issues with the wires and plates after a few years of constant use.

The Convertable is best iron I have ever had for the money. i previously owned CHI and SEDU but they both broke on me. Convertable heats up so fast and always makes my hair look amazing...and I'm not even a stylist! Stop wasting your money and get the Convertable. I haven't tried any of the other HAI straighteners but my friend has the Nu Stik and it is the same just smaller. Loves it!!

After purchasing many straightners this is by far the best. My teenage daughter both use it everyday and it it makes her happy it makes me happy!!! We both have thick, wavy, hair and it turns to silk after we use the HAI straightner. Thanks for a great product.

Does the job better than any others I've tried. From the cheap ole Walmart ones to the Sedu $100+ one. Hai is by far the best.

i love using this straightner but i find that after a few months of using it, the wire becomes loose and it's un-fixable, i loved this strightner so much that after the loose wire situation, i ordered the exact same one and in the end the same problem with the second one that i got, so i wouldnt recommend this one. the cord sucks on this one too, so dont get it!

I am a young lady of color and have had a couple of perms. I am currently in the stage of growing my perm out so of course my natural hair texture is what is mostly showing. This flat iron works wonders with the texture of my hair and I would reccomend it to anyone looking for a new one. A couple of my friends have a CHI straightener and this one works just as well if not better and is not nearly as costly. And it arrived quickly and in wonderful condition.

Exellent very happy with my flat iron recommend to everyone that is on the clock early mornings going to work and have not much time to fix up your hair fast and easy tool to use.

I have thick, coarse hair and have used many different flat irons, but none work anywhere near as well as this one. The one that I had just recently broke down and I tried a cheaper one that was recommended to me and I'm returning it to the store immediately and ordering another HAI now. My old HAI worked perfectly (heated up quickly, didn't snag my hair, made my hair very soft and shiny) until it died on me after 3 years of pretty regular use, but even if it has a life of 2 or 3 years the trouble and expense of ordering a new one every so often is worth it, especially if the alternative is bad hair.

I have terrible crazy, dry, kinky, frizzy, long hair. I have never in my life been able to straighten it myself. And other people just made it a big frizzy mess when they tried to. This flatiron not only works on my maniac hair, it does it fast, and I can do it all by myself. Never thought it could happen to me, but my hair is straight and smooth - even in the crazy Houston humidity! I highly recommend it.

This is great!! This is defiinitely a good choice on flat irons. My hair is wavy past my shoulders. Everytime I try to blow dry my hair straight it comes out frizzy and terrible. With this, all i have to do is air dry my hair and then flat iron and it comes out great!!

I love this flat iron, and when I recieve my new one in the mail it actually makes it my second one. My first one started to smoke around May of this year and I just now ordered my second one. I bought my first one around August of 2004 and it went through alot and many of my friends used it as well. Needless to say I got my money worth! This time around I WONT wrap the cord at all!! Thats the only reason why the first one had to be trashed because of a short in the cord. I tried to save it but trying to use it while its smoking would have only put me at risk. I was sad to throw it away but even more joyed when I ordered my new one, which was actually cheaper this time!

I have been using this flat iron for about 5 years. When my first one broke after many years of service, I had to get the exact same one. I have natural (not-relaxed)very curly hair that is colored. I find that this flat iron, largely because you can turn the temperature down for touch ups, actually damages my hair less than blow-drying or roller setting it and sitting under a dryer. During the month that I was without this, my hair color faded really quickly, and didn't shy. Even my friends with a Chi ask to borrow my flat iron!!!

I'm a professional hairdresser. This is the best flat iron on the market. It performs like no other. Smoothe, heats up instantly, and we have been using them in the salon for well over a year. These irons are used all day everyday!

Heats up quickly and gets the job done. I bought for my 17-year old daughter and it was just what she wanted for her long, thick and curly hair. Works great and at a good price.

I got this HAI a couple of months ago, and I LOVE it!! It works so much better than the one I had before which was store bought. Spend a little money on yourself, you'll be happy in the long run.
