I am African-American, so I have pretty curly hair and this flat iron gets it pretty straight, BUT it doesn't last long. If I wear my hair down for longer than 10 minutes it gets frizzy :( When I first used it my hair was INCREDIBLY soft and shiny...and straight! For some reason, now I have to go over the same piece of hair a thousand times for it to get straight like that (maybe it's just getting old?). Another weird thing is that when I straighten my hair with a brush or comb next to the iron, there are little beads of water that accumulate from the steam that it gives off (even when my hair is COMPLETELY dry).

i bought this iron less than a year ago. I still works beautifully and gives me fantastic results time and time again. My hair is really thick and really curly yet the iron still achieves the pin straight look I desired. Many of my friends had this iron and they too we're happy with their results.

I had this iron for 3 years... it finally died on me =( After 2 years of using it the iron started turning on and off i have to put the chord in a certain position for it to stay on. I handle my iron with TLC too. I didn't roll the chord or twist it, I learn that from using my first iron, the Chi. Overall both iron are excellent in straightening my hair BUT it doesn't last long .... now I'm back hunting for another one.

HAI is great, I don't deny that, but I bought the product two summers ago..and the straightner is acting up already. Although it's plugged, sometimes the straightner refuse to be on. I had to place it certain ways in order to get the red light to stay on. I bought a hair dryer for $20, it still works and I've been using it since High School. If I had to pay $80 for a product that will last less than a few years..I really don't think it's worth it.

This is one of the best irons I've used and with a great price. It works quickly and doesn't leave hair frizzy if used properly! You just have to make sure your hair is completly dry before using it.
One year warranty is not enough for this straightener!!

I have gone through 2 of these hair straighteners and they only last about 1 year and 2-3 months. I am now going to Sedu to see if they will work out better for me. When it does work it's great but it's too much money to pay for it to break down so frequently!!

Folica has a flat iron that really works! It is works quickly and has lasting power. It even works on varying types of hair. One daughter has thick, coarse curly hair and the other has fine thin hair and it works beautifully on both types of hair. What we are amazed with is how long the style lasts and through all types of weather. Thank you so much for creating such an outstanding product and then for making it so reasonably affordable.

I feel like i stepped out of the salon everytime i use it. The way it makes my course hair feel smooth is great. it heats up really fast to, i love it!

I waited more than a month before writing a review to be sure of the product's quality. The last flat iron I owned was a $40 Ceramic Tools which worked rather well on my one length, long, wavy hair. After 4 years, it broke and I got a shorter, layered haircut that looked ridiculous even after blowdrying because it was wavy, frizzy, etc. I decided to spend the money on a good iron and read all the reviews. HAI seems to be the best reviewed iron in this price range. It works excellent. My hair is very thick and wavy and by running it through in small sections, I really only have to run it through once or twice. I thought that all the reviewers were exagerating when they said that but it is true. So now, my hair is stick straight and shiny...beautiful. Oh, yea - and because of the small size i can curl my hair under, too. This really is a great find. And Folica is great, it came in only 3 days, can't beat that.

i bought my hai iron approx 2 years ago. i was shocked and dissapointed when my iron now keeps going off on me- i have to keep the cord in a certain position in order for it to stay on!! this should NOT be happening-especially b/c there is only a ONE YEAR WARRENTY and i have resd that this has happened to others as well. but overall this is the best iron if you have curly, thick hair like i have.

I've used quite a few flat irons before, and this one is BY FAR the best I've had. It heats up within 15-20sec...and it only takes a single pass through your hair to straighten it...with my old flat irons, I'd have to straighten the same section 2-3 times! (I have long, dark, thick hair) This flat iron also doesn't pull or rip my hair out either...my hair slides through the plates smoothly & evenly...straightening my hair is effortless snow, and takes less than half the time it did before! I used to have to use a shine serum or anti frizz creme daily..after I started using this flat iron..I NEVER use anything in my hair anymore..I also thought straightening daily would damage my hair because I do use this on its highest temperature, but my hair is sooo soft & looks great...I haven't noticed any damage at all..and its been 2 months! If I'm getting up early the next morning, I can shower & straighten my hair before I go to bed..and the next morning, its still straight! I've read that this isn't a wet/dry iron..but in a rush sometimes I actually towel dry my hair as well as I can..and start straightening it while its pretty damp. You have to make sure you start with it a decent distance away from your scalp..or the steam can burn a little..and you might have to straighten the same area twice..but it works GREAT even with damp hair. When this iron goes bad...I'm definitely getting another one. My friend is a stylist at Paul Mitchell..she recommended this iron to me..I'm soooo glad I listened to her. This iron is usually $120 or so, but I only paid $80 at Folica.com..its the best deal I've found..and the shipping was fast too!

I love my hai ever since the first day it was used on my hair in a great salon. After just one use i didnt hesitste to buy this straghtiner is SO AMAZING! and i have very THICK WAVY/CURLY hair i never thought i could CONTROL my hair but now its easier than ever you should definatly give it a try!

This the second time I am purchasing this flat iron. The first one lasted me close to 10 years. It heats up in seconds and leaves your hair stick straight. Plus it curls just as nice. It leave a shine in the hair too! It is easy to handle. Wouldn't go on a trip without it!
