My oh my. This iron is THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! I have difficult hair (I'm half black & half white) my hair isn't straight, but it's not curly, it's just...BLAH, so I'm always up for trying a new hair product. I read reviews on many flat irons and decided to splurge on the Hai2 and I am so glad I did! This thing is a beast, plug it up, let it heat for at least 10 minutes and you're set to start. I have to use mine at the highest temp. and I can feel the heat next to my scalp so be careful!!! It got my hair the straightest it has ever been. Even a chemical relaxer doesn't get it this straight...and it so soft and smooth and moveable. I've never written a review but I am so happy with the Hai2 that I had to write this in case someone is out there researching flat irons...it works. Oh, and the results lasts for a few days, the next day I just touch up the front and I'm back in business! I even went outside when it was drizzling and it stayed straight...no frizz! I did read about the power cord being shoddy, but hopefully I won't have that problem. Try it, you'll love it!!!!!!!!!!

This is the best flat iron I have ever purchased. It heats quickly and glides smoothly through your hair. It effectively flattens your hair, leaving it smooth and silky. I will never purchase any other brand/model as long as this one is available.

I bought this for my sister who had one previously but on a trip to Ireland, it got damaged.
So, she asked for another one (same product) for her b-day. Great product.
HAI 2.25 inch flat iron

This is my first flat iron and it performs as well as I expected. I like the thick round elecrical cord, it doesn't get all tangled up like my curlers. It heats up fast enough for my liking, straightens my hair, although sometimes it takes a few passes down the curlier hair to do so. I chose the wider paddles because I don't have much time to spend on my hair and wanted to do more hair at a time, however, if you are looking to create a slight twist to your locks with a flat iron, I haven't been able to get this wider version to accomplish that.
Great Investment!

I've had my HAI for the past 7 years. Can you believe it is still working as well as it did the first day I purchased it? I've been ironing my hair every morning since the day I baught it. You would think my hair would be fried by now, but surprisingly, my hair is still soft and smooth. Mind you, it was a lot more expensive when I baught it. I think it's the best investment I've ever made thus far.

I purchased this hair iron recently and I have loved it from the first day I have used it. It works quickly and I just love my hair not being a tumbleweed. It was also very well priced. I also use the Chi hair sild product and the results are great. Thank you Folica for the great price and product.

I don't know how I lived without an awesome flat iron for so long. I have thick, coarse, long hair that frizzes up at the slightest humidity...until now. Dum de dum! This is my first flat iron, but I had tried my friend's 1" ProSelect--That could not even MANAGE my hair.
If you have thick hair, make sure you get at least a 2" plate like the HAI2. The HAI 2 is fantastic for the following reasons:
- I live in NY (super humid) and once my hair is straight for the week, it does not get little frizzies, it stays straight for DAYS, and it is so manageable.
- It heats up in under a minute, so it's perfect for quick touch-ups on the way out the door
- Big plates make it possible to do my hair in an hour (I said it's long...)
I wash my hair in the AM, and straighten that night.
1) wash my hair w/ moisterizing or clarifying shampoo 2) condition with a deep conditioner every time (I only wash my hair 2x a week - it's long, so it works) 3) to wet/damp hair, apply a) Extra Strength Frieda Defrizz Serum b) then apply a straightening cream such as L'Oreal Hot Straight or Frieda Wind Down Relaxing Creme 4) air dry (My hair turns into a big frizz ball if I use a blowdryer) 5) Clip hair into sections with butterfly clips & spritz with either shine spray (Frieda's is cheap and works well) or a protective heat-activated spray (Tresemme is ok but not great) 6) flat iron at about 360-380 degrees.
Overall, I love this flat iron and would definitely buy it again.

I love it!!! IT is my 2nd time purchasing it. The first time it lasted 2 years..and then there was a kink in the wire. But, other than that..nothing compares!! I've tried paying up tp $150 for irons in the mall huts..and it burned my hair reeally bad. All of my friends love it and always tell me to bring it over on nights we go out! :)

I have naturally curly hair and this straightener was a little disappointing. My hair dresser is able to use her iron (another brand) and it will straighten my hair nice and smooth; the Hai created straight but poofy hair. Not what I expected and I returned it.

Throughout my life, I've had more bad hair days than good due to my wavy to curly (long) hair. Whenever I attempted to blow-dry it straight, I'd end up looking like the 70's Diana Ross. My hair would look dry & brittle. If I had a special occasion to go to, it would take me a good 3 hours to blow-dry my hair then set it with large, velcro curlers so it would look half-way decent. With my HAI2, I could either let my hair air dry or I could blow dry it, depending on how much time I've got to get ready, then it takes me 10 MINUTES to straighten it all out and I do have a lot of hair! My hair looks shiny & fabulous and a lot longer since my curls make my hair shrink! I get so many compliments! It's not hard to use at all & the size is perfect for me. I do go over each section twice to get it just right. I love that I can select the temperature that I need so my hair never gets excessive heat. I highly recommend the HAI2 to everyone who loves the look of healthy hair. I can't live without it!!!
l know that i have used bad hair irons before but this one had to be the worste

I have bought dozens of flat irons (inexpensive to expensive) though the years. This flat iron is by far the best I have found in all around creating that smooth, shining finish to my hair. It heats up quickly and works fast.

I have been using a flat iron for 8 yrs now. My first purchase was a Hot Tools iron (cheap). Then I upgraded to the HAI...it is amazing. It is very smooth and does not pull at your hair giving you split ends as other flat irons do. My HAI finally died after 6 years due to me banging it around..it probably would have lasted forever if i was more careful. I did not have time to wait to order another online so I went to a local beauty supply store and bought a CHI....I used it for 1 week and i never had more split ends and my hair was so so dry. I ordered another HAI and took back the other straightner. I would never buy or recommend anything other then the HAI Flat Iron.

If you have thick hard to straighten hair, this one is for you. It is wider than most and works great. I have very thick shoulder length curly hair. In the past I have used irons that get it straight but then an hour later the wave is back. Not with this one! It gave me great silky hair. I use a dime size amount of Paul Mitchells Super Skinny serum, dry, then iron. It is a tad on the heavy side, but I did not find this to be bothersom because it only take one swpie on each section ( and i actually devided mine into large sections, I tend to get in a hurry =) and you are done in no time.
Same issue with power cord

My daughter has used this iron for less than a year and we have the same issue as other reviewers with a broken connection somewhere in the power cord. You have to position the wire just so and tape it in position to keep the LED light on. Not sure if we should replace with the same one or not since it appears to be a recurring problem.

HAI 2 Ceramic Flat Iron, works well for very thick curly hair. I'm very please with my purchase and would highly recommend it. It also has rounded sides not like the other flat irons, which give a more choppy look to your ends. HAI allows you to turn in your ends, giving it a more finished and polished look (of course my opinion). I was also very please with folica.com, I received my flat iron in ONE DAY. Thank you.
