I'm on my second tube. I have grey / white hair and the best i've been able to obtain is a light "tea Color". It smells bad when you put it on and worse as it forments. The stuff has been around for many years but all the draw backs with very limited results are not worth it to me. I agree with anyone who says save your money. I'm done with it.

I am very satisfied with it! Followint the instructions and not washing my hari, after a bit more tnan 2 weeks of using it every day, then applying 2 or 3 times a week after that, my hair is being maintained at just the colour I want it to be. In order to not get any product on my fingers, I applied it with one finger. I took a disposable garden glove and cut my fingers off. I then put the glove ends on my index finger when applying the Grecian.
Works Pretty Much as Described (Good & Bad)

If used as directed this probably works like a charm ---though a stinky and potentially toxic one if not handled with care as it contains Lead Acetate. Unfortunately, for people who have very oily hair like me it is impossible to follow the "for best results" directions about not shampooing your head more than once a week to reach the desired color. Nevertheless, I chose to try and stick with the product and after a couple of months of (almost) daily applications my hair darkened to a satisfactory level. (Since I'm probably less than 20% gray I can't say for sure that someone else with my hair type with considerably more gray would ever reach the desired color, but of course, you won't know if you don't try.)
I am on the "maintenance dose" now which means I have to apply it 2 or 3 times a week and, while the smell is not pleasant, (despite what the package says) my wife says she can't smell unless she sticks her nose right by my hair. The other drawback alluded to above is that the chemical used to do the darkening is Lead Acetate that may be safe to use on your head (provided you have no cuts or abrasions) but that you don't want to get into your eyes or to ingest. I wash my hand at stages during and after use and I go the extra mile by wasing off the comb and the bottle itself. I also try to be cognizant of when I have put my fingers in my hair so I can avoid contact with my eyes or mouth and wash my hands again at the first opportunity.
Bottom Line:
There are a LOT of drawbacks, but it is pretty much the only game in town for GRADUAL hair coloring. If that is not a priority to you then "Just for Men" or getting professional hair coloring would probably be a better option for you.

toxic waste

I have used this biohazard for almost two months now. Not only does it not work, I'm mystified as to what the FDA's requirements are for toxic waste and its use on humans. If the lead paint on my windowsill is hazardous how can this higher concentration of usless chemicals be legal. Oh well money talks and yours will walk if you use this.
alternate product; Grayban smells worse

Grayban does not contain lead, but smells even worse and I would anticipate similar lack of results. Go to a hairstylist !
Lead, horrible smell, disappointing color

After 2.5 weeks I decided to read some reviews because my color was not perceptibly changing. I knew the lead hazard from the beginning, but figured if it worked well enough to reduce applications to 1-2x per week (as the box claims) it might be worth it. The smell is awfully bad; its not so bad when first applied but after 30 minutes it smells like stale cigarette smoke mixed with cheap perfume.
Finally, after all this time and following directions to the letter, I can see no color change-not even silver-grey to light-grey as some guys have mentioned. I think the color response depends mainly on the type of hair and your natural hair color from the beginning.
Bottom line; I will not buy again. Got to a hairstylist and spring for the $40 or so coloring.

Based on the grammar and spelling errors of all these reviews,I'd be willing to bet that the people who say this product doesn't work are not applying it properly. After 2 weeks, and without washing my hair or letting the shower water get my hair wet, (yes my hair has been totally dry for this period) it is turning my hair from white/ gray to silvery brown. AWESOME ! It does smell but it seems to fade a little over time.
Follow the instructions and you won't be dissappointed.

I'm going to discontinue using this product after only one one week. The irritating smell is too much to bear and it seems to linger for hours. I have to find another product

Ive been using it a few weeks and I have noticed a change. Silver Gray to a Light Gray. I would say it doesnt NOT work to bring back any color. It just seems to slowly bleach the gray you have. Yes.. It smells too. I had high hopes based of ease of use but clearly I need to find another product. Waist of money.

I have used this product religiously for about a month with little change in hair color. I will continue to use it because it is easy to use but so far, not much bang for the buck.

I have been using the Grecian Plus foam for a month with great results. The best of it is that it is a gradual darkening process which you have control of. I am very happy with the results I have gotten and will continue use.

Hardly seems worth it to me. I've been using it now for 3 or 4 weeks...I was a littel curious about the smell and the Lead Acetate. I looked that material up on the internet only to find out it's highly toxic carcinogen. Check out this link to a study done on the chemical. Really bad stuff.

Warning: Contains Hazardous Chemicals

I was going to try this product until I read the Warning: below the Directions. It contains Lead Acetate, an extremely hazardous chemical. Since this product is intended to be used over a prolonged lenght of time, resulting in both skin contact AND inhallation of the fumes, I would venture to STRONGLY advise everyone to avoid and/or discontinue it's use.

I have used this product for 3 weeks. It is not working. The instruction said that I should not shampoo my hair during the first 3 weeks. It makes my hair very smelly. At the end, it did not work at all.
Gradual to say the least

I've been using the foam since 9/15. Today is 11/1. Hardly any change. I've never followed directions with any product like I have with this one. No shampooing, no pools, apply to dry hair, blah, blah, blah. Hardly any change in my gray. But, I'll say they have me hooked. On my second can, what do I do. Forego the last 6 weeks or trudge onward. Disappointed it's not working as advertized.
