I have owned CHI in the past and was never displeased. So when it came time to get a new one, I ordered a CHI and was actually dissatisfied. It didn't heat up as hot as my past ones. So I returned it and did some research on different products to try that might be a better than CHI. I ordered the Global Beauty with my fingers crossed.. UPS came yesterday and I immediately took it out of the box and went to work, I got my hair done in 20 minutes! (which is a record for me. It used to take me 30-40 with a CHI) My hair is shinier, straighter, and vitualy FRIZZ-FREE this flat iron is AMAZING! its just like the CHI only BETTER! you have temperature control, and I like my iron to be super hot but this iron gets so hot I don't even keep it on the highest setting. I really do recommend this product 100%, it is the best $95.00 I've ever spent. I just recently got a hair cut (shoulder length) and the woman at my salon used a flat iron on my hair. I came in with puffy, wavy hair, and came out with sleek, smooth, voluminous hair. I no longer had that frizzy look, but finally had straight hair! And the plates dont scrunch your hair ! They go over it smoothly! I am going to order Global beauty very soon, because the results are AMAZING. the best flat iron out there, no contest. A few years back my new hairdresser used a hot iron on my hair. I really liked the results and searched to find the best hot iron to use at home. I chose the Global Beauty based on all the good reviews here at the time. I have been very happy with my choice. I went to Europe last year and was disappointed that my iron did not work at all with their electrical systems. The iron became so hot that the plates fell right off. I was very disappointed and thought I would have to throw my iron away. I was very happy to find, that after my husband put the plates back on, my iron has been working like new for the past 8 months. I hope it last for many months more because I really love my Global Beauty Iron. My hair is really thick and curly and it took an hour to straighten with my chi straightener. With the Global Beauty straightener my hair was straight in 25 minutes. Folica has a great price for this flat iron. Trust me, the Global Beauty flat iron is a worthy investment. I was shopping for a new flat iron. I was interested in the sedu revolution 2009 model.But the price ($139)did not fit into my budget. I notice that this flat iron was rated with four and half stars similar to the sedu, so I took a chance and bought it and I was never disappointed. I am an African American with natural hair (not chemically altered) It gets my hair pin straight at 300 degrees.This flat iron straightens the hair root very well. Do not hesitate buy it.
