Product Rating: 1 WAX NIGHTMARE
Reviewer: NEELA MAHARAJ from POS-TRINIDAD  Sat Sep 26 2009

I bought GIGI Wax, thinking its affordable and great way to do things yourself. The reasons not to use it:
1)There is always a catch to cheap products( too good too be true)

2)Extremely Messy,its gets everywhere,gooey and ruins countertops.

3)Excruiatinly Painful, it help blue /purple marks on my hands

4)There is tonnes of residue which takes a long time to be removed

5)HALF OF THE HAIR IS LEFT BEHIND

I SWEAR I GOT RID OF IT AND THIS IS TRUE TESTIMONIAL OF WHAT I THINK AND EXPERIENCED...IT IS WORST PRODUCT EVER AND I THINK THE MAKERS SHOULD TAKE IT OFF THE MARKET...i WONT RECOMMEND IT TO MY WORST ENEMY..IM STILL IN PAIN...

Product Rating: 2 I'll take razor burn any day of the week
Reviewer: Becky   Sun Sep 20 2009

I bought this product to do a full out brazillian to suprise my hubby after he was away for 5 months serving for the United States Air Force.
I'd used a different brand of non strip wax to shape my eyebrows for years. So I knew how to use a product like this.
However, upon my first attempt at removing a strip of the wax, I was hit with...an extreme case of unsatisfaction.
Not only did it hurt like hell, but a ton of hair was left behind. I continued on though, and after removing about half of my "hairdownthere" I gave up. I wiped the tears of embaracement out of my eyes, and decided that I would much rather deal with occasional razor burn then ever put myself through the torture of this product ever again.

However, I WOULD recomend the wax off and concealer. They really helped to soothe my incredibly angry skin.

Product Rating: 5 the best wax ever
Reviewer: jennifer from lakeport,CA,USA  Thu Sep 03 2009

this GiGI wax is the best wax ill ever have. the first time i tryed it it worked so well the i could wax my legs with out a problem. Iv tryed the strips and it never works. you have to leave the GiGi wax on for a few seconds and then just pull off. The only thing about this product is i just want the wax not all the wax remover and mosteriser I just want the wax by its self. ILL never stop useing GiGi !!!!!!!

Product Rating: 1 Absolutely Horrible
Reviewer: David from Ohio  Sun Jul 26 2009

I do not leave many reviews about products, however, in this case, I think it's a necessity. The wax is messy and easily gets everywhere it should not be. It also worked very poorly; only a few hairs were removed while leaving a lot of wax behind. The wax remover that was included also works poorly and left my hands very oily. I'm not a hair removal/wax expert, but in my opinion, this is one product to stay far away from.

Product Rating: 1 Hard to use, hard to remove, and painful irritation
Reviewer: Anonynous   Sun Jul 19 2009

I have used waxes at home for years with great success & little pain or irritation. This product is a disaster... it is difficult to apply, painful when stripping with a muslin, and almost impossible to remove from your skin or any other surface it contacts. The acute irritation lasted for about an hour and subsided over the day.

Product Rating: 2 Don't work
Reviewer: Ping Pan from Coram, Ny  Mon Aug 20 2007

I bought one kit and tried the first time. Only few hair waxed off. I thought that I maybe didn't follow the instruction strictly. So I did second time one week after. My skin was sensitive and red after waxing, but lots of hair still stay on my lip. I am licensed technician for this. I used to wax many clients with traditional wax. It worked fine. However, my skin was sensitive to old wax. I decided to try this free strip honee wax. It didn't work.

Product Rating: 1 Very bad product
Reviewer: Marta   Fri Jul 27 2007

I agree with Alison from Florida, this product is awful. The wax sticks to the legs and it is very very difficult to get a good grip at the wax to strip it out from the skin. I am glad I did not try on my eye brows....
I have never been so disapointed with a wax like that before...and I have tried many....

Product Rating: 3 Not recommended for body waxing.
Reviewer: N/A   Mon May 21 2007

After reading mixed reviews I decided to try this product out. I did my eyebrows and upper lips with out a problem. I tried to do my underarms and there wasn't too much of a problem. The problem occurred when I started to do my legs. Because the wax is relatively thin, I found it difficult to spread a thick layer of wax on my legs, so I ended up with patches of wax around my legs instead of a nice even layer all around. For facial waxing I thought this was excellent, but for body waxing it didn't impress me at all.

Product Rating: 4 pretty good but painful
Reviewer: anonymous   Sun Nov 12 2006

I haven't tried the new yellow wax... didn't know they changed the product. But the green wax i've used works great! It does take practice, a little getting used to and altering the technique to work with you, and self-inflicted pain is hard to do. I had to listen to loud music to get in the self-mutilating mode it requires to get it off, but the results were great. I must add that the results do vary. I'd give it a least 2 shots before chunking it for those of you who had unsuccessful experiences. Sometimes I don't get much hair off, sometimes I get it all, just depends i guess, but overall a great product.

Product Rating: 1 Change formula and it is terrible now
Reviewer: Julie from DC  Wed Sep 13 2006

I really USE to love this product. It seems that they changed the formula, use to be green wax and now its yellow. Its terrible, it was a sticky mess, it didn't harden well and and it was stuck all over me and did not remove much of the hair. I would not recommend this and I would not buy it again, unless they started to sell the old formula.

Product Rating: 5 Used it for years
Reviewer: Ryan   Tue Sep 05 2006

I have used this product for years and am very pleased with it. I have sensitive skin and was always embarassed when I would get my eyebrows waxed at the salon because it would turn my skin bright red. So red that I would go straight home afterward to avoid people giving me strange looks. This product was recommended to me by a co-worker who had the same problem. It is incredibly gentle and my skin only gets red for a minute or two afterward. It is easy to set up, you just heat it in the microwave and stir, and easy to apply as well. I don't use all of the products that come with it except for the pre-wax and sometimes the wax remover but I still buy the whole kit because it comes with the sticks. I would highly recommend it to someone with sensitive skin or who hates to pay $15 to get their eyebrows waxed once when this one kit will last you well over a year!

Product Rating: 1 DON'T try this at home!!
Reviewer: Allison from Florida  Mon Sep 04 2006

This is the worst wax I have ever used!! It is impossible to get off your skin, let alone anything it touches. I am still scraping this wax off my tile floor. The muslin strips also shred and stick to the wax. There are definitely easier to use waxes out there. Try Nair's Microwave wax instead...it's cheaper too!

Product Rating: 5 you have to know what you're doing
Reviewer: KB from Virginia  Wed Aug 23 2006

I have used this particular wax for several years - got this newer kit only recently. I have extremely sensitive skin, and yet the only times I've had less than excellent results are when I haven't followed the directions correctly, and then only on two occasions that I can recall. The directions are there for a reason! Don't overheat! Don't leave the muslin strip on too long!

Product Rating: 1 Just used the wax.
Reviewer: Hinano   Sun Jul 09 2006

I already had the other stuff so I bought the wax separately. This stuff sucks. You neeed to put a load of it on just to wax anything off. It smells horrendous (my father complained I stunk the house when I heated it lol). Also it takes FOREVER for it to heat up! You gota have smoke coming out of it for the wax to stop being hard as a rock High chance of burning yourself because of that too. This is like THE WORST wax I've ever used, I ended up throwing it out when I got a different brand.

Product Rating: 1 Worst Kit ever--dangerous
Reviewer: ann from Nashville, TN  Mon Jun 26 2006

I have used several waxing kits and this is the worst I have ever tried. The wax is so sticky that you could easily remove a layer of skin with the hair. If you're lucky, you only get bruising as you wrench it off from your skin. It is also not water soluable so you can only use the strips once.

Furthermore, I spilled some on my kitchen counter and floor and none of the following would remove it: paint thinner, nail polish remover, scrubbing pad. Do you really want this on your skin???!!!

Product Rating: 1 Terrible
Reviewer: Serena   Thu Apr 13 2006

This product worked horribly, and was a complete waste of my money. To start, the wax never unhardened in the microwave enough, even after a minute of microwaving. Then the taffy-like wax wouldn't stick to my skin, so the whole thing was pointless. I don't know if I just got a bad box or what, but it was a complete waste.

Product Rating: 5 Great alternative to bleaching!
Reviewer: Cydney from California  Thu Mar 16 2006

I used to bleach my unwanted facial hair but it would still grow and was still noticable. SO I heard it was best to wax with a stripless system and this was the best one out there! It heats up fast and dries fast and virtually removes every last hair! Quickly! I also noticed less hair grew back and at a much slower rate. Highly recommended!

Product Rating: 5 have to have wax
Reviewer: jasmine   Fri Oct 28 2005

This is awsome I have the gigi warmer with the srtips and I don't like it but this is awsome.

Product Rating: 1 This stuff sucks!
Reviewer: Alisha   Fri Aug 05 2005

I have used many GiGi products and have been very satisfied. Not the case with this goo. It never hardens sufficiently to pull off in a strip - think warm taffy! Yuck! Stick with the Brazillian kit if you want a hard wax that works.

Product Rating: 1 CHEMICAL BURNS ANYONE??
Reviewer: ke from Toronto,Canada  Tue Jun 14 2005

HORRIBLE PRODUCT!! GAVE ME CHEMICAL BURNS THAT ARE SLOWLY FADING AFTER ALMOST TWO WEEKS!! GETS VERY HARD SO IT'S VERY PAINFUL TO WAX OFF. I'D RATHER PAY MORE AT THE SALON.
