Fair, Sensitive Skin- Dissatisfied

I am an experienced waxer. I've been going for full Brazilians, legs, and underarms for years. I can usually do my legs, underarms and bikini line at home myself to save cash. In this products defense is only the fact that this was my first foray into doing a Brazilian at home. In my opinion, this product was a mess. The applicators get caked in the hardening wax, making it harder to apply to small areas. The opening of the container shrinks as all the wax hardens and you have to dig all the way down to get soft wax, making your applicator even more messy. I read all the directions. I prepped my skin as directed. After microwaving it for two 30 second intervals, I still couldn't break the top with a disposable applicator. I had to microwave this stuff for way longer than the directions instructed. (around 3 minutes in 30 second increments) Once I got it to a manageable consistency, I started with the standard bikini wax just to make sure the stuff worked before I tried it in any more "difficult" places. It left stray hairs everywhere. I decided to forge on, and give it a try with more sensitive areas, figuring even if a few hairs were left behind, it was worth a shot. At one point when I was waxing the less taught area, I actually had to cut the wax off of my hair, because it solidified, and was literally stuck to me. I could not pull it off...my skin just started ripping. For a finale, trying to clean my skin up was challenging. My sensitive skin was bleeding, irritated and just very unhappy. The best part of this wax was the satisfying plunk it made as it hit the bottom of my garbage can.

I read all instructions before starting and tried to follow exactly as it said. After 30 seconds in the microwave, it was still hard as a rock, I did another 30 seconds and it was still hard as a rock, I was not sure what to do as it said not to go over one minute. I did another 15 seconds and then was able to braak the seal on it but then it exploded all over the microwave and my counter. I was able to stir it then and it became a huge mess and running over the edges. Once I finally was able to try it, it would not spread evenly and was clumpy. The parts I was able to get it on, it did remove the hair, but I would never buy this produce again and threw what I had left away. Dont waster your money.

I bought this product after reading a bundle of mixed reviews. I have had a professional brazilian wax, and I wax my own eyebrows and other body parts. I hated spending so much at a salon to have a random person wax my "special place" and then have it grow back 3 days later, it wasn't worth it. I bought this product so I could try waxing at home because I was tired of shaving. I found that the negative reviews would be correct if the person hadn't tried waxing ever before, or didn't follow directions correctly. I microwaved the wax for 30 seconds, then stirred, then another, then stirred, then one more time, stirred and it was the perfect consistency. It was easy to spread, dried quickly, if it dried to slow for some of you, you heated it too long. It was more painful trying to get an end up on the wax to wax it off, so strips would be helpful in preventing initial pain. As for waxing it off, it was less painful then in a salon. Overall, I had great results, I did have to pluck a few hairs, but so far no grow back and it has been 3 days. My advice to those having problems with it, you should go to a salon first to see what they do, to better understand how to properly wax. Second, waxes hurt, this product doesn't deserve negative reviews for pain, the first wax always hurts, but after that it gets easier. Third depending on your microwave the way it heats is going to vary, so judge by the initial 30 seconds. If it is still too hard then microwave again and try to stir every time. The consistency I had that worked the best was like a heated caramel. I definitely recommend this product to someone who knows how to wax themselves, and doesn't try to rush the process, because it is time consuming to get a nice even wax! I have tried other waxes, and they just didn't get the job done, so this is definitely a product I will continue to use.

i think the good reviews must be all made up. the wax never hardens. at least not after 45 minutes which is all i felt like waiting. i tried taking it off within a minute and it was still taffy like so i waited and tried again every five-ten minutes. the wax doesn't harden so it is impossible to get off. you are stuck with a gooey mess on your skin. do not buy this.
Awesome Product!

If you follow the directions, this kit works great! This was my first time doing the brazilian and everything worked just as you would expect it to in a salon. The wax really removes all of the hair. Great way to save yourself some money every few weeks! I definitely will be buying more in the future!

There were mixed reviews before I bought it so I went with the positive and bought it. Well it turns out the negative reviews were right. It's very messy and painful. I haven't used it since the first time.

Ladies, this is the best!! I just bought one and I had salon like results only cheaper and I didnt have to show my intimate areas to an stranger!!! It is painful, I wont lie! but it is so worthy!!! My tip to make it less painful is to trim the hair up to 0.5 cm long, or maybe less and start from the bottom working your way up to the top (if you are going to go complete bold as I do) also the numbing spray works, still hurts but not as bad!! This product is the best I've tried, its not messy and it does work wonderful!! I love it!! oohh I use it for my underarm area and it is beautiful I simple LOVE THIS PRODUCT, it is an excellent product!! and ladies! go bold! it is nice!!
Love it! Love it! Love it!

Waxing myself with GiGi Brazilian Bikini Wax was way less painful than when I went to the salon and paid $60. This was the first time I tried to wax myself at home. I'm so pleased with the results that I can't wait to do it again. The product is great!

I love this wax, I have never been to a professional yet I did this on my own and loved it. If I can do it, you can do it! just be careful when handling. All those people that gave this wax bad reviews must be reviewing other waxes or just plain clumsy. When stirring it, stir s l o w.

I am a licensed professional and I have used the hard wax with a warmer, never ever have I had a burn incident until I decided to try this microwave formula. I checked it after 20 seconds and it started to form an air pocket, it was turning into a dome and rising, yet the top was still hard and unmelted. After 40 seconds I took it out to stir and the top was raised even higher, still hard and unmelted so I proceded to mix and push it down so that it would all be melted and it exploded all over my arm, hand and breast. I have second degree burns as a result. It was not melting uniformly and I will never use microwave wax again.
good thing i only wasted $15

I think about a fourth of the hair was actually removed. No point to buy this product at all. After I am done writing this review I am calling the closest professional to get the job done because this definitely did not.

This product will save me a ton of money!! I do need some practice with it, but am very pleased with the results. Best of all, no more embarassment of having someone else do this and also it was much more comfortable - it removed the hair but I didn't have near the pain I experience when done professionally. Will definitely buy/use again.

I like this product. It actually got pretty much all of the hair out and smells very nice. It melts well and everything, but it certainly can get a bit messy. It also really hurt, but I think thats just because it's ripping your hair out, not because the wax is bad.

I thought the kit was relatively simple to use; although, I primarily used only the wax. I bought cloth strips separately and used them to remove the wax. This seems to work better than using the wax alone. Be very cautious not to spill the wax on floors, etc. It also helps to clip the hair to 1/4" before waxing to avoid matting.
Not Too Bad...

After doing ALOT of research on-line, I chose this product. I have NEVER had a wax before and just could not bring myself to bare all to a stranger (no matter how many other people that person may have waxed/seen).
First, I laid down some packing paper to sit on that I recycled from a package I had received (although used newspapers would work too).
I made sure to heat the wax for about two minutes (stirring/checking after 1 minute) to make sure it was runny enough (like mentioned in other reviews). Then I applied the product in small sections, waited for it to harden (tap it and it's no longer gooey), then yanked on it. OW! Parts weren't too bad but other parts HURT. It probably would have worked better if I had applied even smaller patches (no bigger than a quarter).
The wax remover did not work as well as I had hoped, but I was still able to get the excess wax off with a little extra effort.
Overall I think this is a good product and gets easier to use with experience. I'd buy it again.

I was very impressed with this product. I, too, had been getting waxes for about a year and was tired of forking out money. I do think the first time you ever get one should be done by a professional so you see how they do it. I would have made more of a mess and hurt myself if I just tried it on my own. Every brazillian wax is painful so no one should be getting upset with that. You cannot get around it. It is messy but with experience it will be easy. I am getting a another jar today so I never run out. I was very satisifed and recommend this to anyone who goes to the salon once a month! Save your money and time!!

LOVED it. At $65 for a pro, this was as easy and efficient as it's going to get for a do it yourself experience. And i save $50 bucks every 2 months. It worked EVERYWHERE. Wax on in the direction of hair, wax off in the oppisite direction, making sure you hold the skin tight. (not easy for guys). I did a better job than one of the "pros" i went to who ripped off skin with strips that should have never been in that location to start with.

No need for salon ever again!

I actually tried waxing the land from down under with a different GiGi wax before (a month after going to the salon), and that was the most horrible idea I have ever carried out. It ripped off some skin in some sensitive areas, and I was in pain for a week, and I thought "great. I have to spend $50 every month just go have this done?" So I did some research on Google, and this site popped up, and I found this specific wax to have the most highest ratings, so I tried it out. Fast shipping, by the way. It took me a total of two minutes and 15 seconds to get the wax to be usable though, but the process was surprisingly fast, painless and clean! I would suggest people to start the process from the lower parts though, just because you have to pick at the wax at the side and if there's hair that's partially stuck to the wax on that particular side, it'll be painful when you rip it off. And yes, you don't need a strip as long as you wait for the wax to cool off and be pliable. Also, apply thick layer of wax, or else it will rip/break off in pieces and you would have to spend a long time picking at the pieces. I love this product so much, thank God I don't have to go back to the salon ever again!
Good product, would buy again.

Have never had a professional wax or used a hard wax on my own before, so I was a bit nervous to try this. Overall I would say my experience was a good one. It took me a while to get the hang of how thick a coat of wax I should use. Also took me a while to find a happy medium of when to pull the strips off - kept pulling them off soon or ended up waiting too long, but eventually figured it out. The pain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, so that was a plus. I worked with small areas and only had to pluck a few leftovers once I was done. I would definitely recommend lying a bunch of old towels or newspapers on the ground before using just in case you drip any on the floor. I cringe to think what would have happened if this wax had hit the floor or carpet. Overall a good product. I imagine it will continue to get easier with more experience. Definitely have enough to use 3 more times. First time user friendly.
