To prevent ingrown hairs after waxing: Wait a couple of days after waxing the area to allow your skin to heal and calm down. Then in the shower use a gentle exfoliator(such as a loofah or sponge)where you waxed. Exfoliating will help slough off the dead skin cells that can build up and clog your hair follicles--thus producing ingrown hairs. If you already have one, continue to carefully cleanse the bump and let it heal. If it's painful, you can try icing it to decrease inflammation or even crush an aspirin with some water to make a paste and apply to the bump. |
