I've tried various straighteners and since I have extremely thick hair it takes at least an hour to straighten, but with this straightener it took me 15 MINUTES! I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has thick, frizzy hair as it worked wonders for me!

I bought this product and paid extra bucks because I thought it would get my hair straighter. The product does not have any heat control and it snagged my hair out on the first run. I returned it immediately. It's not worth it. The Sedu does not snag my hair and works beautifully. The price is too high to damage hair like that.

I have owned a Chi, Solia and Hot Tools Flat iron so I thought I would give this a try. Those of you with very thick,wavy hair that puffs out at the moment of humidity know how hard it is to maintain straight hair. My daughter has very thick, long, wavy hair which is beautiful but looks beautiful straightened also. This worked in 5 minutes. Her hair was soft, shiny and unbelievably straight. You would think that much heat would ruin your hair but it made it look better than it ever has when straightened. I recommend it to anyone who spends more than 10 minutes a day on straightening. The larger iron took a little getting used to but works faster than the 1". Buy it.

This is one of five straighteners I have tried on my hair. It works and keeps it straight thru almost anything. Be careful if you leave it on and have delicate hair. It gets hot and there is no settings to lower it to. I use it right once it turns on and then turn it off.

This flat iron works so much faster than my old one,that I had to replace because I misplaced it( thank goodness for me. Not having a temp. setting was a concern at first that quickly faded away.The price is well worth it, If you can catch a discount even better. Take it from a Blk/Hisp with combo hair, it pays for itself in no time. Great!

These are the best UK hair sraightners you can buy and now available in the US, I couldn't wait to get hold of a pair, travelling regularly in the USA I have been disappointed that I couldn't take the UK GHD's with me. The USA version take slightly longer to heat up in the US probably due to the volts not being as high there but they definately don't disapoint in straightening hair. I have the wide ones as I am want quick results and have a lot of hair.

I love this flatiron. I've been using a 2" white Revlon and I've had to buy 2 or 3 replacements because they always crack and start pulling my hair out. This ghd flatiron is awesome - it's wide enough that you can do fairly large sections and I'm not having to re-straighten sections like I have in the past. You also do not have to squeeze the plates together so hard like you do with others because it gets SO hot. I was worried that there wasn't a temperature setting, but the set temp is super hot. Also, I know some have complained about where the on/off button is, but there is no way you could accidentally hit it, which is really nice, and you only have to turn it on and off once. Also, it has a swivel on the end, so you're not always getting tangled up in the cord. I HIGHLY recommend this flatiron!

I got it a few days ago and decided to test it today. It normally takes me a long, long time ti straighten my hair but today I was like "WHAT that's it?" it's only been 30 minutes since I got out of the shower and started drying my hair... 30 minutes later I was completely done! I straightened my hair in half the time and my hair looked amazing! I looked like I did when I had my hair cut and straightened at a salon. I have a lot of hair on my head but this made it look much thinner and healthier! It was also very humid outside but it didn't freeze at all! I was amazed.

I am very pleased with my new ghd 1.75" flat iron. I am able to quickly straighten my hair and I don't have to make several passes over each section of hair to get it straight. Because of the width of the iron, it takes me no time at all to straighten my medium length hair. However, getting the bangs to look natural is a bit trickier with such a wide iron. The fixed temperature seems the perfect temperature for achieving great results. All in all, I think it is a great iron, much better than my previous one and I am glad that I purchased it.

I have had my Sedu for 3 years and I loved it. However, whenever it's really humid my hair would frizz and turn into a poofball. I live in Houston and the humidity here is extreme. I wanted a flat iron that would help my hair stay straight even in bad weather. I got the GHD and I used it for the first time last night. It had been storming all day and I knew that it would be really humid outside. I had my ponytail holder ready for when my hair would frizz up after I got outside. I never had to use it! My hair stayed very straight. When I woke up this morning my hair was still straight and I barely had to touch it up. I really love this flat iron! I never thought I would find something better than a Sedu, but the GHD is truly the best!!!!!

Best flat iron I have used. I have a ton of course naturally curly hair... heats up fast, stays hot and flattens in 1 swipe of the hair. Love it!

My hair is the most stubborn hair unimaginable. My sister told me about this product and I was not convinced at first because I thought NOTHING could tame my hair. I have thick, full, very long (below butt), spongy, coarse, most stubborn hair... and this "baby" has been able to tame the beast. It is not heavy at all. This Flat iron is made for hair like mine so on the other end it has some tips to grip it with your other hand for full support. Besides you need a pretty large flat iron to work with hair like mine, and there is no way I would trade it in for a lowly Sedu. If you have hair like mine, this is the flat iron to get.

I am the laziest person when it comes to primping, but this flatiron is so easy to use and fast with salon-like results. It is expensive, but it's cheaper than getting your hair done and it will last and last. Definitely worth it!

I have very thick, curly hair and I adore my GHD. I find myself straightening my hair much more often then I did with my recently deceased Wigo (which did work well for a few years...) I've tried quite a few different hair straighteners and the GHD is hands-down the best I've ever bought. This iron hasn't damaged my hair very much at all, either. I went from it taking up to an hour to straighten my hair to 30 minutes at most. I truly love it & I also find it makes fabulous curls as well. I'd definitely recommend it if you can/are willing to afford it... Other flat irons can probably bring you near or at the results of the ghd, but just take more effort & time. Seriously, the only time I have to straighten the same section twice is if I take too big of a chunk of hair.

The GHD Professional Ceramic Hair Straightener is by far the best straightener I have owned. Heats up fast and does NOT fry my very course hair. My hair looks silky soft and is in the best condition. I'm very happy.
