I wanted a barrette that would hold all of my hair in a ponytail, like the picture, but only half of my hair fits. My hair might be on the fuller side of average thickness, but I thought from the picture that this barette was meant to hold a lot of hair. It's still cute, and I like using it for pulling back the top half of my hair, but if you want a ponytail holder, this probably isn't the right barrette. To be honest, I don't know if I'd buy this over again.
