Good product, be wary with fine hair

Okay, okay, I hate to ruin the five star rating...
I have quite fine hair, but a lot of it, so I find it's hard for me to find a good heat protector that moisturizes as well - without making my head look like a FEMA-grade oil slick. From the other reviews, I thought FHI Heat Hot Sauce would be a good one to try.
Unfortunately, like other liquid protectors, this one still does give some of that "hmm, has she washed her hair in the past couple of days?" vibe. On my near-shoulder length, towel dried hair, I've been using a thin dollop about the size of a quarter, as anything less wouldn't be enough to begin to evenly distribute on my strands. Then I blow dry and straighten with my Sedu. The result isn't nearly as bad as some other products (I still have nightmares about Citreshine), but, again, it does leave me looking a bit oily, particular on my bangs.
It doesn't help to control my frizzies in the extremely muggy late Southern summers, either, which I didn't expect it to do but it would've been a nice bonus. But on the upside, my hair does feel nicely soft and smooth. There's no real scent that I can detect, so it doesn't clash with other scented styling products or perfume. The packaging is cute, too.
With all that said, I really don't have any issues with the product itself, as I'm sure it's wonderful for those that don't have ridiculously fine hair! I intend to continue using it to see if I can somehow master the Hot Sauce (and it's also pretty expensive and I don't want to waste it).

I bought this hoping that I'd get the desired "no frizz" effect, while still having hair that feels clean and light. I use this product on my towel dried hair. I only use about a dime-sized amount. I apply it mostly to my ends to the middle of my hair, where my "curl/frizz" is the worst. My hair is pretty thick and a little below my shoulders. It's naturally wavy/curly - more straightish with frizz when I blow dry it. I wanted a product that would get my hair to stay straight longer and not let the Louisiana humidity affect me so much! I use the product, blow dry, and straighten my hair. The product makes my hair feel a little too greasy. It's not overly greasy, but still feels a little heavy. It also doesn't help my hair stay straight through the day. I could try to use more product to get the desired look, but the feel would be way too greasy. I guess if you don't need to use too much, the product would be good for you.
Definetly a super-great buy!

I was just browsing through heat protectants on this website when I found this little bottle of hot sauce right here. I was surprised at how it had a perfect rating of 5 stars so I decided to get it. Right after I used it, I could understand how it got so many great reviews. It works beautifully, adding shine and moisture to my hair as I flat-ironed it. I would DEFINETLY recommend it, however is a bit expensive. 14 dollars for 2 ounces? Good thing I'm not a budget ;)

I wasn't sure how much I was going to like this product, but the great reviews made it too good to resist. It's not often when you see a product with consistant 5 star ratings! I've tried it the way the instructions direct(on towel dried damp hair), and have used it just prior to flat ironing on dry hair. It works terrific either way! My hair was starting to get fried from flat ironing, and Hot Sauce has helped tremendously! My hair feels stronger, softer, and thicker. I'm not getting split ends, anymore! I definitely plan on purchasing this product again, it's terrific. Also, a little bit of product goes a long way, so it's worth the money.

This stuff works INCREDIBLY well. I find that it is all I need to use prior to flat-ironing my hair. Great stuff, but the bottle is really small. If you are on a budget, I would not recommend this because it is 14 dollars for 2 ounces (the bottle is about the size of an adult's middle finger)

Let me just start off by saying that i went to a meeting with some representatives from this company, and they told us how BAD we treat our hair from everyday use of irons with product! I have quit using ALL styling products... and now i just use my Hot Sauce in conjunction with the FHI Platform iron; i get complimented all the time on how silky, shiny, and smoothe my hair is! I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

This stuff is AWESOME! I ordered two 2 oz bottles from Folica because the bigger size was sold out :( So I bought 2 bottles and it works GREAT!

Is your hair frizzy? Well, my hair isn't just your average fuzz; it's a MONSTROUSLY FRIZZY, HORRIFYINGLY CURLY BEAST!!!
I thought I would never be one of those girls with perfect hair: Girls with straight, smooth, shiny and silky hair who get toss their hair around and get kissed by hot guys in shampoo commercials. But I tried.
I was introduced to professional flat irons when my best friend took me to a Salon on my birthday to get my hair done. I was AMAZED at how the girl doing my hair transformed it. She told me about Folica.Com where they sell everything you need for perfect hair.
I went on Folica the next day and bought a CHI iron with my birthday money. When it came, I was SOOOO happy. But since my hair wasn't protected while I blow-dried it, it got damaged after some time. (Plus I bought a crappy REVLON blow drier which wrecked my hair!!!) So I bought some heat protector from the mall which worked OK. But I needed something better.
I went on Folica to see how I could protect my hair. I bought a bottle of the Sedu Moisturizing Heat Protector, which worked as well as the one I got from the mall. I wasn't satisfied. I wanted one that would work WONDERS.
So I found this hot sauce. I decided to also splurge and get some Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. Oh. My. God. When they came in the mail, I tried these two on my hair.
First, I towel-dried my hair as best as I could and then let it air dry. ((Of course, since my hair is a MONSTER it took a while to air dry, but I was NOT going to damage my hair any longer with that crappy blow drier of mine))
After that, I applied some hot sauce and flat-ironed it. When I was done, I put in some super skinny serum, brushed it through, took a deep breath, and looked in the mirror.
I was speechless! My search was over! I now had perfect hair! Now, I could be the one in the shampoo commercials, seriously! Everyone at school was amazed. I am SO happy with my Hot Sauce! (not to mention my serum did a great job too!!!) This stuff is WONDERFUL, AMAZING, the BEST heat protector out there!!
Now MY hair is smooth, shiny, soft, and silky. And I am HAPPY.

I PURCHASED THIS AS A CONDITIONER PRIOR TO BLOW DRYING. IT "DOES NOT" TAKE A LOT FOR YOUR HAIR - IF YOU USE TOO MUCH, YOU HAIR WILL FEEL LIKE THERE IS RESIDUE ON IT. IT TAKES ABOUT A NICKLE SIZE (I HAVE THICK HAIR), I RUB IT IN AND MY HAIR IS BOUNCY AND FEELS GREAT. THE REVIEWS I READ WAS RIGHT.

Hot sauce has allowed my hair to stay soft and silky after ironing. I don't like blow-drying my hair, so I put the lotion in and let my hair air dry. After air drying (say, the next day) I iron. The results are amazing. The product smells good too. Won't be using anything else! Worth every cent.

this stuff is amazing. i put it on when i get out of the shower and just comb it through and go - i don't even use heat on it and it makes my hair look fabulous.

I can not say enough good things about this stuff. It has helped transform my hair into shiny, silky bouncy strands and always makes it look soooo healthy every time I use it. I get so many compliments on my hair now and the ONLY thing that i've done differently is use my hotsauce before using the ceramic iron. I don't what I would do if they ever took this stuff off of the market!!!

I have tried all sorts of hair products, especially for straightening my hair, and to keep it straight especially in the humidity, where nothing I have tried worked even slightly. I decided to try hot sauce. I used some biosilk in my towel dried hair (that is what I usually use) and then after I let my hair air dry (I try to do that whenever possible in the summer) I sectioned my hair into 6 sections (3 on each side) and put a decent amount of hot sauce on each section right before flat ironing with my 1.5 inch Sedu iron. I couldnt believe the way it looked when I was done. Now I have used some great products on my quest to find the best, but I have NEVER seen it look so smoothe,sleek and shiny. Not only that, but its the ONLY product which helped my hair retain straightness while I slept (usually its a mess and has regained some wave by morning)and through the next day (in 95 degree heat)and my straightness even survived by being misted with a hose I was squirting at my daughter! Unbelievable! I wish they made a bigger size and a cheaper price, but from now on I can trash everything else (I will keep the biosilk for my 8 year old-it detangles her hair like nothing else!) and keep my hot sauce!

This is a great product. I have relaxed hair and relax every 8 TO 10 weeks. I wash every 5 to 7 days depending on the season. I used this product on a Sunday washing day. I applied it to my hair after towel drying waited a couple of minutes, then blow dried. After blow drying, I used CHI- silk for flat iron protection. I flat iron my hair once a week; the more you flat iron or apply heat appliances, the more you should wash and treat your hair. If at all possible, try air drying the night or hours before using the flat iron. I noticed when I air dry my hair, it is so soft and moisturized. Who has all that time - right? With Hot Sauce, my hair was silky and soft with more movement than I normally have. I had body and bounce before but this made it really bouncy. It was healthy looking with a nice shine. I normally can see when I have to wash my hair especially in humid weather. Today is the 6th day since I washed my hair and it looks like the second day of a washing. I will wait to see how long this look will last. My scalp is not flaking as it normally would be at this time and it smells nice. It is "pricey" but WELL worth it. I have made my money back already; look, with this product, my hair is straighter longer thus extending the trips to the salon for relaxing ( I could do without those anyway ). HOT SAUCE with a flat iron is all I need to maintain a healthy looking head of hair. THANKS GUYS !!

I am a product junkie (or was). I strive 4 excellence trying just about every product out there w/great reviews after much research. After all those tries, this is my 1st review because Hot Sauce is MIRACLE EVERYTIME I use it & I will never experiment styling my hair after this. Years of trying some well-reviewed products, much $$$ wasted, & MUCH disappointment, I always went back to my Biosilk Silk Therapy 2fix the bad results. Most stuff just doesn't work for my Filipino, waist-length, VERY DENSE i.e. Thick/Stiff/HEAVY, dual highlighted, crinkly/poufy, dry hair. Hence, why I'm so high maintenance w/it yet hesitant to trying any more products. Picture a Pacific-Islander w/super long poufy hair, that’s my hair au naturelle. Biosilk just coated my hair 2b more manageable after ironing, but it never made it healthier.
I bought this the same time I bought my upteenth flat iron, the Sedu Revolution Nano along w/the Infiniti Hair Designer by Conair as my last hair-investment attempt. The combination is sick! They all get a million stars in my book! I put it all to the test just like every product I use for the 1st few times. How much would be considered too little or too much, etc. The more Sauce I used, the healthier my hair was & NO, it wasn’t any heavier but in fact MUCH SOFTER, even lighter. No need 4extra damage/heat protection, cuz it repaired past damage too. There's no such thing as too little or too much of this Hot Sauce! For the 1st time in my life, my hair was actually light, smooth, & SILKY! I've never used all 3 words about my hair EVER. I was in Hair Heaven!!! Normally if I used any of those words it was: Smooth but Heavy w/product overload (which was the ONLY way to get my hair to behave). Or Light but Overly-Fluffy-w/Flyaways. Took hrs 2get there, but was always a tangly brushing/combing nightmare. Never known silky cuz I thought it would never happen due to the weight & thickness of my hair (even w/ short hair!). Until now. After washing my ridiculously long hair that normally takes yrs to dry, I put a bit of Hot Sauce all over, dried/smoothed it w/my new Infiniti Hair Designer. Literally in minutes my hair was so smooth, airy, & silky & dried so crazy fast, it really looked like it was already flat ironed. I wanted to stop there & savor my heavenly hair but I was on a mission to push the limit w/ my new toys. So I sectioned my hair in *thin* sections, put more Hot Sauce on every strand & ironed it w/ my new Sedu Nano, ran the iron down 2x on every piece (top/bottom & sideways - I'm a perfectionist too) and ran it down quickly. The result: ZERO DAMAGE, ULTIMATE PERFECTION EVERYTIME!!! I even went & spiraled it w/ my Nano AFTER str8ing it, & again, healthy perfection. Curls & Smoothness lasted whole wk (w/ZERO FRIZZ & STIFFNESS) till my next shampoo (I hated the thought of washing it out yet I looked forward to styling it again, go figure??). Goodbye Biosilk, along w/everything else! Hello HEALTHY HEAVENLY hair in minutes!!!

I straighten and curl my hair each and every morning and began to notice that my ends were beginning to split and look quite dry. With just a small amount of the FHI Hot Sauce on my hair, it began to take a new shape entirely. Rather than looking tired and drab, my hair started looking shiny and healthy with great body and bounce. I’m always trying some new product for my hair and most don’t work as well as I’d like. However, this product is one that I don’t ever want to be without.

Hot Sauce is the BOMB
I"m a black stylist and my clients hair moves just like the girls on a one of those patene comericals but, there black women the women with the least body and length.
My clients just can't believe the way their hair just swing,toss and just turn but, as a stylist of 18 yrs this is truly the best product that really show off my signature cut from short to long hair.
