When I first got it, I was reallllly excited. But after using it, i realized that it is really damaging to your hair and the straightness doesnt stay long. it sucks. My target one works better.
hmmm

I had my FHIs for christmas... couldn't wait because the straighteners i have before were crap. I opened them used right away, was amazed with the results. 4 months onwards (now) im using them and my hair is fried bby i think thats me because don't use any heat protection spray becuse im out... i find they give you frizz, little bits on the end. SO i when my sister is here i pinch her GHDs but i still love my FHIs!!!! very very very good straighteners. Think i would have prefered GHDs but apparently they fry your hair on contact LOL
205 model not fixed heat - buy a higher model for better value

The 302 and up models are fixed heat - the 205 is not. Plugging into 110V I got about 200ish degrees out of it. I have barely-shoulder-length, very thick and coarse, Hispanic hair, and this model didn't work any better than the $20 iron I got at Target. However - I'm in the middle east right now and have access to 220 voltage. I plugged it into a 220V outlet, it didn't burn out, and I got (at least) 400 degrees out of it. Once I did that it worked excellently. I sectioned my hair into about 1/4inch sections and did 3-5 second passes through each section. The plate-ends are curved so you can curl the ends of your hair. I used a light polisher on my hair before I used the iron and it kept my hair shiny and sealed the ends nicely. If you do not have access to 220 volt outlets, I recommend getting a higher model. I'll be buying the 405 model when I get back to the states. I suspect it will work as well on 110 as this model does on 220 because it's fixed heat, has a temp control dial *and* has a larger plate I think it'll be a much better value.
so im totally in love

It is definitely one of the best ceramic flat irons I have ever used. It doesnt make my hair brittle and cause split ends like most of them do.
excellent

i love this iron, i used it fresh out of the box and freshly washed hair i was amazed. i have very thick and unruly african american hair and this iron did a great job of straightening it and making it soft. i even used it on my friend who is hispanic and has hair thicker then mine. it got her hair straight in one pass. it does good if you want to bumb the ends so their not so straight and boring (i did this for a friend with stick straight hair) i love it. i highly reccommend it to people of all races and hair types. its a little hot to the touch but doesnt burn my hair. Hope you all enjoy!! i know i will!!
Beware - This product will discolor simulated marble countertops

I recently purchased this flat iron and it works great on my hair. However, I left it directly on my simulated marble countertop and it is now discolored yellow. After researching this on the internet I have learned that burn marks cannot be removed. If you decide to buy be sure and protect your countertop. This is a costly mistake that I won't make again.
Keeps my hair straight all day!!!

I love this iron! It keeps my hair straight all day until I wash it. I dont need to put anything in my hair. If I did my hair would become greasy. All the other irons I would use were cheap ones and it would just fry my hair. This one makes my hair shiny and soft and I get alot of compliments on how soft it is and people cant stop touching my hair. I think this iron is best for short hair because its so skinny that it can get close to your head without burning you. I think this one works as good as the Sedu flat iron. If you notice they look exactly the same except different names and colors. They work exactly the same. I would DEFINETLY recommend this iron.
It will get the job done, but you can find better

I have moderately curly, fairly thick hair and I have been straightening my hair for a VERY long time. I also color my hair so I am most interested in a flat iron that will leave my hair looking silky and shiny. I recently began using the FHI iron after I wore my Paul Brown iron out and although it does flatten my hair easily, I find that my hair is much drier and less shiny than before. I have also noticed that my hair has been breaking more often and I have more split ends. I would not recommend someone with hair similar to mine use this product as there are definitely better ones out there. I would definitely recommend the Paul Brown iron and I am going to give the Sedu a try after reading the reviews.

I have lots of thin curly hair that tends to be dry and since I bought this flat iron, I have had so many compliments on how great my hair looks. It takes less than half the time to straighten it everyday. I am so glad my hair stylist shared this brand name with me! I'd reccomend this to anyone looking for sleek straight hair!
Not worth it for African American Hair!!!

I bought my FHI and because of the reviews, I though that it was going to work great. I was wrong. I have medium/long legnth relaxed ethnic (black) hair. It didn't get hot enough to do anything to my hair. When I was finished straightening it, it didn't look much different from before I started.
My sister-in-law is a hair stylist and she was disappointed at the results that the FHI was leaving on my hair. She straightened my hair again because she thought that I wasn't doing it right. We got the same results. It did not have that straight, shiny, silky feeling that I get when I go to the salon. I would not recommend this for African American hair. It just isn't worth the money. I am returning it tomorrow and I am going to try the Solia this time. Hopefully it works better than the FHI.

MY BI-RACIAL DAUGHTER HAS VERY THICK TIGHT CURLY HAIR AND THIS FHI STRAIGHTENED IT RIGHT AWAY! IT HEATED IN NO TIME AND IS VERY EASY TO USE AND DID A GREAT JOB ON HER THICK HAIR. IT IS RELAXED, BUT STILL VERY THICK AND UNMANAGEABLE UNLESS IT IS STRAIGHTENED. SHE LOVES IT AND I THINK THIS FLAT IRON DOES A BETTER JOB THAN THE CRICKET. :)
good

i have an FHI flat iron (i didnt buy it from Folica but i am getting a new different flat iron from here). Its a great flat iron EXCEPT one flaw in its design. There is a screw kind of thing at the base of the iron pieces and if you are not overly cautious you can get your hair caught in it as you are straightning your hair and it will rip it out or snag it real hard.
