The results I've been looking for

This FHI flat iron is great. I get the same results as my hair stylist does. I am African-American with thick, wavy, frizzy hair. My hair has changed a great deal since I was in high school and has been a bit difficult to manage, leaving me frustrated and less than sure about my appearance. Once I used the FHI iron, the clouds parted, heaven shined, and the angels sang once again. My hair is straight and does not revert back to its original state. I called my sister and told her my results, and now she is in the process of getting one also. The key to using this iron is to make sure you have a heat protectant spray to achieve the results you are looking for.

WOW. the FHI is amazing. i love to straighten my hair but my old one was really bad and killed my hair and my best friend had the CHI, so i used it once in a while and it was pretty good. but then my aunt told me that there was something else, the FHI. so i said okay why not try it and see if its good. so my aunt got it for me and i love it soooo much!! it does give off a little smell from the heat but it does NOT go off on your hair which is good! i would definately recommend this product to all girls who love their hair straight. <33
no need to worry about the heat

I just upgraded from a FHI Iron because my friend did my hair for a wedding with her chi, AMAZING and it held up in the heat so let me just say it was nothing short of a miracle

My aunt bought me this iron 2 years ago as a gift because she had just done the japanese straightening to my hair and i couldnt use a metal flat iron anymore. She used it at the salon with no problems but the darn thing gets hot but i have to let it heat back up dring the middle of straightening me hair. My friend used the CHI on my hair what a difference my hair was soft silky and best yet the hair stayed straight for four days even after a shower the heat from the shower didnt even curl it. Needless to say my new Chi is on order and the FHI is going in the famous drawer of things i dont use anymore.

Great product for the money! My last iron was a Chi also a great product but you can't beat the price of the FHI. Works just as well and less than half the price. Will order this brand again!!

I bought this product and absolutely hated it. It didn't even feel liked it heated up enough. My hair barely got straight and it pulled at my hair a little bit. I didn't like the one fixed temperature. It's not worth the money.
Not Impressed one bit..

You know I did alot of research - comparing a Chi to all other products. I read so many places that the FHI was as good as the Chi for so much cheaper. Having spent so much money of useless hair equipment I thougth I'd try my luck at something cheaper. HAH - Now I know why the Chi is more expensive.
Although the FHI straightens ok - the piece is to hot for you to handle with two hands.. Now for straightening it's ok, but if you want to anything at all like flipping, waving or even curling the ends - forget about it or use an oven mitt! I am returning it now and going for a Sedu.. Hopefully this works better. I tried the Chi - worked fine, broke too soon after i purchased...
Great

I used my friend's FHI last night and the results were amazing. It got my hair very straight and shiny. It's humid outside too and still no problems with my black hair. In my opinion, it works way better than the Chi. The Chi would straighten my edges but leave my friends frizzy and I would have to keep applying heat everyday to keep it straight. It was also wayyy to hot, seems like it could easily damage the hair. But I loved the FHI, hence the reason why I'm on the site. I will be getting one very soon.

I am an African American woman and I really love the FHI 1" iron, it's very economical! The heat setting is perfect just like being at the salon. My hair gets silky straight with alot of bounce. The FHI straightens my hair to the point where I now stretch my relaxer from 8 weeks to 12 weeks. Now that's stretching it straight!
Didn't work for me

I exchanged my FHI because it did not work for me. My hair is naturally waivy and is usually very easy to straighten. This iron just does not seem to get hot enough. It takes a long time to straighten my hair with this iron and even then it doesn't look as straight as it does w/ other ones that I've used. The problem is that there is only one temperature setting on this iron.

I loved this flat iron, I had a $150 CHI, and this FHI iron works 5x better than my CHI for a fraction of the cost. This was def. a good buy.

This is ht best flat iron in the world!! This is the straightner used at my salon, and im always so happy with the results. but being a college student, i didnt exactly have 150 to drop on one sold at the salon. but my conair wasnt exactly doing much anymore. So glad i stumbled on folica.com. great product, greater customer service, great shipping. I will definately be ordering from this site again. extremely satisfied!!

This styling iron does a great job, but does not have a temperature control, so there is only one temperature setting and cannot be adjusted.

this is the greatest flat iron that i've ever purchased. it gets hot within a minute and it stays hot. for picture day at school i woke up late and only had 10 mintes to do my hair! this only took me 7 minutes for straight hair all day long. even through rain snow or humidity! this is your best bet for a flat iron. its better than CHI in my opinion, i have used both.

When I first got it, I was reallllly excited. But after using it, i realized that it is really damaging to your hair and the straightness doesnt stay long. it sucks. My target one works better.

I had my FHIs for christmas... couldn't wait because the straighteners i have before were crap. I opened them used right away, was amazed with the results. 4 months onwards (now) im using them and my hair is fried bby i think thats me because don't use any heat protection spray becuse im out... i find they give you frizz, little bits on the end. SO i when my sister is here i pinch her GHDs but i still love my FHIs!!!! very very very good straighteners. Think i would have prefered GHDs but apparently they fry your hair on contact LOL
205 model not fixed heat - buy a higher model for better value

The 302 and up models are fixed heat - the 205 is not. Plugging into 110V I got about 200ish degrees out of it. I have barely-shoulder-length, very thick and coarse, Hispanic hair, and this model didn't work any better than the $20 iron I got at Target. However - I'm in the middle east right now and have access to 220 voltage. I plugged it into a 220V outlet, it didn't burn out, and I got (at least) 400 degrees out of it. Once I did that it worked excellently. I sectioned my hair into about 1/4inch sections and did 3-5 second passes through each section. The plate-ends are curved so you can curl the ends of your hair. I used a light polisher on my hair before I used the iron and it kept my hair shiny and sealed the ends nicely. If you do not have access to 220 volt outlets, I recommend getting a higher model. I'll be buying the 405 model when I get back to the states. I suspect it will work as well on 110 as this model does on 220 because it's fixed heat, has a temp control dial *and* has a larger plate I think it'll be a much better value.
so im totally in love
