I was fairly pleased with this product. I didn't get my hair quite as straight as my stylist got it, but that may just be technique. However, she did tell me to get an iron that went to at least 410 degrees for my hair type (African American, natural, tight curls). I had to put it all the way up to 450 degrees to begin to get it as straight as she got it. Overall, it's pretty good.

I purchased this flat iron and it was at my door step 2 days later. THANKYOU FOLICA!! This is an excellent flat iron. I'm a black woman with thick hair and the results looks as if I just walked out of the salon. My hair stylist uses the same flat iron and I wanted to have one of my own. I will never use nothing but ceramics ever again.

This is the 2nd FHI iron (same exact) that I purchased from Folica. My mother used mine and absolutely loved it. I bought my mother the same model for her birthday.

I have had this iron for 3 or 4 years, and I love it like the first day! Still works perfect on my hair, in fact, I even got 3 more in different sizes for all my sisters! and they love theirs too!!!

i have had my FHI for 2 years and i wouldn't trade it in for anything! i thought the 1 3/4" plates would be too small; the previous straightener i used was 3". the smaller plates do a better job at getting all of your hair straightened. i have the best of both worlds; i can have pin straight hair if i use an iron or have extremely curly hair by doing nothing. i don't have any frizzy spots when i am done straightening. i have had some hairs get CAUGHT on top of the plates but have not had hair torn out.

I bought this flat iron because my stylist uses it on my hair. I have been really impressed with the flat iron and have since reccommended it friends and even strangers!

I was excited about geting these irons, i figured they were better than CHI, but when i got them i wished I would've purchased a CHI because they were average, did not notice a drastic improvement.
Overall i would purchase they, but i am wondering about the quality of CHI now

I'm very pleased with my FHI iron. The ONLY criticism is that once in a while (not often)...a few hairs get stuck in the "elbow" area of the iron. They really should try to perfect that. Otherwise, I'm a happy girl.

The FHI Ceramic Flat Iron is sufficient, however, I prefer the original CHI, hands down the best one out there. The FHI 1 3/4 is heavy, I have small hands and long hair, so it gets strenuous.

I've been using straightening irons for years but have never been satisfied before. A friend owned this iron and after trying it, I got hooked on to it. Obviously, I ordered the iron right away and am very happy. This is the only iron that works miracles on my long curly hair. And best of all, I don't have to use any products on my freshly straightened hair anymore. My friends can never guess if my original hair is curly or straight!

I am very satisfied w/my FHI, I own a HAI 1/4 and the Maxi Glide. I think the FHI and the HAI are comparable. Very consistent soft heat.

this works pretty well. i used the 1 1/4 inch version before this for 2 1/2 years and loved it. it just seemed to not be getting as hot as it used to. this one has worked fine so far.

I bought the FHI hair straightener because i borrowed one from my friend once and it did such a great job on my hair. I found it on Folica for a better price than what my friend had purchased hers for and I do not regret it one bit. The service was prompt and I am completely satisfiedwith the iron it works GREAT! Kudos to Folica i have been recommending the FHI and site to all my friends.

I dont ussualy bother to write reviews as time does not permit me. However I am making an exception this time around. My hair is not the most manageable there is and being limited on funds and time it created a problem for me. I always thought that if I could just find the right flat iron then all my problems would be solved. I would spend less time with my hair and have more time for everything else. I sought long and hard and through patience and percseverance I found what I was searching for all along. I am truly satisfied, it works marvels for my hair and I have not found its second yet. Actually I have stopped looking. Thats how satisfied I am. It weighed heavily on my pocket leaving me broke hence I cannot afford anything else but it is worth it.

I have use many other flat iron before and they dont flat my hair the way thisone does with out breaking and damage my haire I have the other 1" for over a year and still working they are very strong and my beauttian use thsi flat iron and they take the heat!!!!.

I have very thick, shoulder length hair and am African-American. This flat iron gives me a salon perfect finish, whereas other irons have left my hair looking like I did it myself. This has enabled me to do my own blowouts in between salon visits and still get a professional effect. This is important since I need a blowout every 3-4 days and who has time to go to the salon that often. It takes me 1 hour to wash, condition, blowdry, and flatiron my hair with another 5 minutes added to that if I decide to do some additional styling. It's amazing! And, by the way, I am not good at styling hair, but with this product, even I can make my hair look amazing.

I just got mine in the mail. I am African American and i usually have to straighten my hair with a pressing comb, I can't believe how straight it got my hair in one pass, and I was able to get in close to the scalp. i am super excited about my new flat iron.

Heres' my story, I had originally ordered the CHI 2" since it was a bit cheaper, fortunately for me the CHI was sold out & the website where I ordered my iron called and asked if they could send me the FHI which was more expensive and a higher grade iron instead of the CHI (@ the same price). I figured what did I have to lose right? Well it was the best thing that ever happened to me!!!! I have had my FHI for about 3 years now and it works just as great as it did in the beginning. My hair is curly & thick but it's no challenge for my FHI. I've used other straightening irons (CHI & Sedu) but they just don't compare to my FHI. It will leave your hair shiny & straight. Believe me you will not be dissapointed with this purchase, it'll save you lots of time and money if you pay to have your hair straightened. Your search is over, you have finally found the best straightening iron out there!!

to the one that reviewed this iron as bad, you probably dont know how to use a flat iron properly; too high temp for your hair type, and or, trying to straighten with damp or wet hair on a high temp, because i have been ironing my hair alot, for three or so years, and have quite long hair (below breast) and it is still in mint condition, i use a high temp (stubborn wavy curls) and use aveda hang straight to protect, also i dont color my hair, anyway i used to use an isinis by ceramix, it was good, then it broke, and i got a hot tools, it sucked, then i got this amazing miracle appliance and will never use another sooooo much faster than the others and no crevices that my hair gets caught in when in a hurry
