I don't promote anything that I don't believe in and believe me you, you can't go wrong with the FHI ceramics. I use them in the salon on my clients and they press the hair out so straight that it makes your hair looks like its relaxed and it is safe on the hair to where it doesn't burn or over process the hair. It also leaves that natural shine to the hair and they are durable and sturdy. So take my word for it and you will not be sorry...

I have owned this iron for nearly 3 years now and it's been totally reliable. I only use it about twice a week, but it works like a charm, usually one pass will straighten my fairly thick curly frizzy hair. I've even used it on my son's hair (20 yr old), and he has the thickest hair I've ever seen, very curly (think Shirley Temple curls). I takes my about 15 minutes to straighten his hair to stick straight. All the girls he knows want to know what kind of iron I used on him, he he he.
Bottom, I'm so pleased with my FHI iron that I just purchased their Nano Salon Pro 2000 dryer. Which is fantastic too. I wouldn't hesitate to run out and buy a new FHI iron if mine died today.

At the recommendation of my hair dresser, I purchased this iron last year for use by my daughter while she is away at school.I was so very pleased with the quality and results that I bought another for myself and second daughter! The size allows for a straight or bottom curled strokes. We are a black family with varying hair types and lenghths beyond our shoulders and mid back. We have all experienced pleasing results. It heats quickly, is easy to use. I recommend using a spray on hair protection product to prevent damage from frequent use. The on-line purchase and shipping were problem free.
I thought the FHI was good, but not great.

I am African American with fine curly hair that gets extremely curly and/or frizzy when there's any humidity. The FHI worked 10 times better than the gold n hot I had previously. I found, however, that on the next to highest level I had to run the flat iron over my hair quite a few times. Also, my hair still frizzed a little. I thought my hair would be completely straight on such a high level. I've had an Infrashine flat iron used on my hair and I think it worked quicker and prevented the frizz better. I've decided to exhange the FHI for the Infrashine. Folica's service was excellent. I was shocked when I order Saturday night and got my flat iron Tuesday afternoon. Their customer service reps are also very helpful and professional. The free gifts the mirror and flat iron pouch were great.

I have been using flat irons to style my hair for a long time. I've used those old metal ones to the so called ceramic ones that have chipped on me. Ive never spent more than $50 for a flat iron and was very hesitant on purchasing this one. But after having gone through so many flat irons I gave in to this one. It was actually recommended to me as well as the Chi and T3. I heard that the Chi breaks really easily so I didnt want to spend money on something that would break. I recieved my purchase within a few days and I absolutely love it! My hair feels so much smoother and softer than ever before. The FHI is definitely worth the money!

I am a professional hairdresser and I have used FHI flat irons before. They have always been reliable. It gets hot quickly and stays hot. It also cools down fairly quickly. It makes the hair very straight and smooth. I would recommend it to my clients.

I purchased my FHI at Ulta which I love...anyway I brought this iron with very high expectations and was not thrilled with the results. My hair looked like it did with my other cheaper iron. So I am going to return it today and try the SEDU

I have very long and curly hair and I don't want to spend a lot of time trying to straighten it. This iron works great. I never have any trouble even if I decide to straighten it after I have let my curly hair dry naturally. While other flat irons I have tried leave my hair a bit wavy, this one never does. It is always smooth and always looks great. I got the iron as a gift and had no idea it was so affordable. It works just as well as the one they use on my hair at the salon.

I am glad that I bought the iron with variable temperate. I am black and I need the really hot setting. It doesn't dry my hair out and it takes away the static in my hair when I blow dry it. I have been recieving a lot of complements.
2 1/2 years and this thing still works!

I've had it for 2 1/2 years and it still works...granted it looks a little beat up. I have dropped it 100 times, even on tile floor..and it still works fine. I ordered the 1 1/2" sedu and I didn't really think it was it was cracked up to be. I returned it to get a CHI. My hair dresser used a chi and I think it will work pretty good. I'm just worried about it breaking like everyone says it does after only a couple months.
Excellent for African-American's without a Relaxer!

I have got to share the information that I have about this product. Firstly, I bought this FHI iron because of a review that I read and feel that it is my duty to share my experience as well. I am African- American and I do not have a relaxer in my hair. The key that I have learned is to wash and condition my hair and then while it is wet to either individually braid it or two strand twist it( at home at course) the point is to basically allow the hair to stretch as much as possible. When it dries, (hours or overnight, however long it takes your hair to dry), then use the flat iron. I usually oil it to the scalp and light oil the actualy hair as well. I put it up as high as my hair can take (you will have to just trial and error it for your own hair) and then flat iron it as usual. There is no other iron out there that has been able to starighten my afro as well as this iron. Many people just assume I have a relaxer/perm. I try to only flat iron my hair once every 2 weeks or if I can wait and do not have any engagements to attend I can even wait a month. I do try to keep heat off of it any other time since this iron gets so professionally hottttt! I have not tried the "hot sauce" that comes with it (they give you a small sample), since my system works but perhaps I will try it soon. I think that it may better protect the hair against the heat. I truly hope that this review helps you with your hair. If this iron works for my hair it must work with all types of hair! May the Lord Jesus Christ always bless you and reign in your life! Excellent!!! This flat iron is the best!!! It used to take me 45 minutes to straighten my hair, and now it only takes me 15 minutes. This iron is wonderful and heats up very quickly! Love it :)

My two daughters and I are African American, with very coarse, thick hair. A girlfriend told me about her stylist who used FHI. I honestly didn't think it would make my hair look relaxer straight, but I was pleasantly surprised when she did it! I was so impressed that not only did she become our stylist, but I bought an FHI, and could do my and my daughters' hair. That was over two years ago, and we want to get another one with a wider plate! Also, I love wearing my hair in twists, but I have no problems getting my hair straight whenever I decide to flat iron. My hair still gets really straight quickly, it feels soft and silky, and it actually MOVES (you sistas know what I'm talking about!)

THIS IS THE SECOND FHI FLAT IRON THAT IVE PURCHASED AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I bought this straightener for my 15 yr old daughter who straightens her hair daily. Her straightener she currently was using was a 20.00 cheapy special from last year. It had quit heating well and was making her hair frizzy she said, so for Christmas wanted a new one. Well this one was certainly a hit as she loves it and uses it daily. I did buy her the Biosilk infusion therapy to also help protect her hair and encouraged her to experiment with the various heat settings. Buy a nice straightener and try it out for yourself. Price is right and cant beat the adjustable heat dial.
