Features and Benefits:

  • Variable temperature of 140oF - 450oF (60oC - 232oC)

  • 1 " Plate size - perfect for medium to long hair!

  • Ceramic Plates

  • Automatic Sense Recovery System - quickly recovers heat to ceramic plates

  • Ultra fast heat up time 5-10 seconds to any temperature.

  • 360o swivel cord connection to avoid tangling

  • Lightweight design

  • One year manufacturers warranty

  • Caution:

Avoid any direct skin contact with the ceramic plates while they are hot. Never leave iron on when not in use. Keep out of reach of children. Never place your iron in water. If iron falls into water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water. Do not set the iron on delicate cabinet surfaces or near any flammable materials. Set the iron on a damp towel or place in an iron holder between uses. New wrap cord around the ceramic plates until the entire iron has cooled down.

    Directions:

    1. Begin by taking a small section of hair and running a comb through it to separate the strands.

    2. Place the combed section of hair between the ceramic plates starting as close to the scalp as possible. Close the iron with a light grip.

    3. Pull the iron away from the scalp and let the hair glide through the plates. You should not feel the iron gripping or pulling on your hair.

    4. Repeat this process throughout the rest of your hair.

    5. In addition to straightening your hair, your FHI styling iron can be used to create many different styles. You may experiment by twisting your wrist to flip, twist, and curls your hair.

Temperature: A steady red light means the iron is in the process of heating up. A blinking red light means that the iron has reached the desired temperature. No red light (with the switch in the on position) means that the iron is in the process of decreasing the temperature to a lower setting.

This flat iron is the bomb!
Reviewer: Tonya from Detroit, MI   2009-08-27

I am an African-American woman so I must say that it is imperative that I have a good flat iron. I have had my FHI flat iron for about a year and a half and had nothing but great results. I have tried various other irons over the years and NONE of them got my hair as straight as these. I loved them so much that I went out and bought a 2nd pair (7/10") to use for pressing my 4b type hair. I love how straight and shiny my hair is after use and it stays straight for 2 weeks without a retouch of any kind. Also, I want to let you know that I use it on the highest setting of 450 degrees and have never had burned hair from usage. This iron is a must-have!

Oh my God, my rep is crazy

Bought the FHI platform special edition! Does it stand for Freakin' Hair Incinerator. Burns hair. I thought I was getting a deal for my salon and I got nothing in a black and white box with a $17 shipping charge. Sent it back happy now:)

5 years & still makes my hair perfect!!!

My mom gave me the flat as a gift for my birthday. I was not sure if the iron was going to work well because I have never heard of the brand and I thought my CHI iron was the best out there. I was wrong... It was love at first try!! I use my flat iron almost daily and I love it because I can go straight or curly.

    its ok
    Reviewer: smiith   2009-01-05

im using this one now i bought it about a year ago;; but put it away when i bought my CHI. then my CHI burnt out so i had to go back to this one until i order another one. but i have very curly thick frizzy hair. i recently got the jap thermal permanent straighting & even with that this straighter still damages my hair. its good in the beginning then kinda fads out. but yes it straightens it but not as well as i would like it to. the CHI is ok to but im sure there are better ones if you do you homeowrk :)

    great buy flat iron
