I HAD TO REPEATEDLY GO OVER THE SAME AREA TO REMOVE ALL THE HAIR IN THAT AREA. I HAVE USED A SIMILAR ONE BEFORE WITH ONLY ONE HEAD AND IT WORKED JUST AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER. AND IT WAS MUCH CHEAPER.
Not Bad

Less pain than the emjoi gold caress, but design makes it hard to hold. It keeps slipping from my hands. Overall, it is a nice product.
It's like having a weapon!

I've never have a hair removal with two twizers heads, I'm trying to get use to it; be very careful the first times, because the Emjoi is very fast and you could hurt yourself if your skin gets trap between the two heads. It is not comfortable to use in the bikini area (and beyond), again, because of the two twizers heads. It is not comfortable to use it in the face, too fast, but I'm getting use to use it. It works good on the legs, fast! It works good on the armpits, fast!
It hurts alot!!!!!!!!

I used it for the first time last night and I am still in pain. It kills. It is not worth the money. Waxing is better.

I used this product for the first time today and I'm very happy with the results. I have fairly fine hair and can withstand pain pretty well so this works for me. I'm somewhat concerned about the durability factor so time will tell...
Ouch, but WOW!

My title pretty much sums it up. It hurt alot for me to do this (I have very thick, course, dark hair), but it's the kind of pain where you might wince or even utter a profanity or two, but no tears and no screaming. In short, I just got it tonight, and I already did my underarms, upper lip, legs, and bikini.....so I have already saved $90 bucks. And I didn't have to do this with another person in the room :)I am trying to get up the nerve to do a brazilian...but boy does that hurt even when I used to get them done with wax. I found that, in regard to the bikini area, if you do a little at a time it's easier to take. And you definitly have to be flexible as another reviewer said. I don't much like how hair flies everywhere, though. I wish it had some way of catching the hair. For example, I did my underarms in front of the bathroom sink so I could see what I was doing (it was the first part I did) and underarm hair got all over the darn sink (ewwwww!). Oh well, another good reason to be alone....can clean up and no one needs to know what just happened!. Anyhoo.....I am so happy to have this little guy!! I can't wait to go on my cruise in March and NOT have to spend $100 on waxing procedures the day before!!!! Yay!!! Love it!!! Anyone who waxes should totally be able to handle this thing for it has pretty much the same feeling but maybe a little less....but a whole lot more privacy, TONS of money saved after even one use, and I can see it making 'upkeep' so convienint (ex. I refuse to shave my underarms because of the nasty way it grows after doing that so I have to wait until the regrowth from a wax is enough for antoehr was....leaving sometimes 3 weeks with some hair there :( ). Ever since bikini hair went out with the 80s, I've been trying different methods of keeping myself bare. This is the best product I have found. It keeps me smooth for about a month which really keeps my boyfriend happy.
not worth the cost

it was nice while it worked but it stopped working properly after only 3 months of use. i have a cheper version of emjoi which has lasted just as long as this more pricey model so if you are buying an emjoi brand go for a cheaper one.
Fabulous for about a year

This is the best epilator I've ever used, but I was sorry to see it die on me after only one year. (The disk that turns the tweezers stopped aligning correctly). I used mine about twice a month pretty much all over, and it worked great, but expect to have to buy another in the future.
Hurts, Effectiveness depends on hair type

I think this product hurts and it doesn't always get all of my hair. I don't mind the pain on my legs, but on my underarms which I don't like shaving because I get razor burn, the Emjoi hurts so much on me anyway! I often have to shave with the razor attachment afterwards to get the hair the tweezerheads missed. I really think it depends on your type of hair though and your tolerance for pain.

I have only used this one time and so far, I was very very happy with the result. This is much less painful than the other ones that I have bought before and it really cleans up my hairy legs :-) I am a little worroed about the equipment to stop working after reading the other users review. But so far so good!
Very good!

It is really a good product, but of course you must stand the pain! I only wish another speed, lower than the other two.
Love it and couldn't be happier!

This product does exactly what it is supposed to do--remove hair by the root when you "glide" or "hover" it over your legs! (Never press into your skin.) After using an epilady hair remover for 10+ years and then having to shave for a year after my epilady finally gave out, I was very happy when my husband finally looked online for me and ordered me the Emjoi. When it came in the mail I was dying to try it out immediately, but resisted the urge until after showering. If you'll just wait until right after bathing or showering, this product does NOT hurt (it just feels like hair being plucked with a tweezers!) and is fabulous at pulling 3 to 4 day hair growth from legs! Your results will not be as good and it will hurt a little if your legs have not just been bathed or showered! The Emjoi is much better than my epilady!! No hair removal method (including waxing, which I have also tried) gets ALL of your leg hair, but this product does a better job than anything else I've tried! It is so nice to finally have smooth legs all the time again versus the "so prickly you hate for your legs to touch each other in bed" feeling at night after shaving that morning! In short--I love it and couldn't be happier with this product!

I got mine almost 2 years ago and would not know how I would have managed without it. I have tried other models of Emjoi, epiladies, and just about all others out and this is the BEST. Never had a problem of ANY kind. Love that it comes with changeable head. The first few (3-4) times I used it on my legs I could not muster the strength to go near my ankles. But after each use the tingling sensation lessened. My favorite part to use it on is underarms. Faster than waxing and just as fast as shaving with a razor. But with the benefits of it growing out less, softer, and slower. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Emjoi Optima!!!
Very good product

I just got mine. I have used it to give myself a brazilian. It is great. I do not have to go the the salon to get it done anymore. You just kinda have to be flexible and go over the areas a couple times. It has already paid for itself. If you haven't been waxed before it probably wouldn't be a good idea to have a go at it until you have. It is a little loud. But other than that it works very well.
Best one yet!

This item is wonderful and I have searched the internet for three hours trying to locate another one. It truly does remedy tweezing and the hair does come back fine and you don't have to tweeze as often.
Waste of money

I purchased this product almost 2 years ago, similar with other reviews, I found that that this product did not waste any time showing signs of wear and tear. The optima locks up any time you put it on a curvy or fleshy part of your body, and is terrible for the bikini as it locks up every 2 seconds. In short this product was a big waste of money.
Buy the Cheaper Model

I use epilators extensively and go through one to two a year. Not long ago, I purchased this model and found it to be lacking. When it petered out I bought another for about $20. It was the same brand, Emjoi, but had fewer disks and ran on batteries. The Emjoi Optima Dual Opposed Tweezer System was less effective because of all the disks and the broad head. It only pulled well at a certain angle, so I spent all my time manuvering the head searching for the sweet spot that would pull twice as many hairs at a time. This machine was, however, better than any I've used on flatter surfaces. On the less curvy areas of my body I was actually able to effectively use the dual opposed tweezers.
If you can take the pain, this is great!

I love my emjoi. I have been using it on my underarms for over a year and now the hair there grows baby soft. I use the shaving attachment for my legs and can get a couple of days w/o shaving. This is good for me since my hair grows very fast. The emjoi is a little painful, but worth the pain. I love the fact that I no longer have dark stubble on my underarms. I have pretty thick hair so if you have fine hair it might be less painful. In either case, I guess that whether you love or hate the emjoi really depends on your tolerance for pain. I personally don't think that it is that bad. It feels like a pinch. I would have given it an excellent rating, but you can't use this on your face.
