This product was a great disappointment. It does not do anything it's advertised as. I tried to remove hair as instructed on the manual and it really was ineffective. I DONT recommend this product. There are other better products on the market.
I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT

FOR ALL THOSE WHO EXPERIENCE PAIN, DO WHAT I DID BEFORE PLUCKING FACIAL HAIRS.......ICE THE AREA OF YOUR FACE. I USED TO GET THREADED PAYING 25 DOLLARS PER VISIT, BUT HOPEFULLY THIS THING WILL BE JUST AS EFFECTIVE. THREADING HURTS TOO, BUT THE ICE NUMBS REALLY WELL. THE MORE YOU SHAVE, THE STRONGER THE HAIR GETS, SO IF YOU'VE BEEN SHAVING FOR A WHILE, THE FIRST TIME WILL HURT. I'VE BEEN PLUCKING ONE HAIR AT A TIME ON MY FACE WHICH TOOK FOREVER, SO NOW A FEW MINUTES AND THE HAIR WILL BE GONE. VEET WORKS GREAT ON LEGS BECAUSE I'M ONLY BUYING THIS FOR FACIAL HAIR.

Not for upper lip hair removal...you must not push hard while using the product. It does hurt but no worse than tweezing.
Better for some than others

This was an ok product. I was not that impressed with it. It wasn't as bad as some make it out to be. I'm sure for some people it works great. For me, it was not as good a I had hoped.
Not Sure yet . . .

I have used this epilator twice. The first time hurt but I was pleased with the results, which were not as smooth as a shave, but acceptable. I did not have to shave again for three weeks, which I liked. But when I used it the second time, although it hurt less, I noticed at least 20 ingrown hairs on each leg. I used the product correctly and am concerned. I will need to purchase an additional product to control for ingrown hairs, and if it works, I would recommend this product. Otherwise, I would say no. For one thing, the process was painfully slow, and if it also produces multiple ingrown hairs with no remedy--not worth it.
It works!

Okay, here's the truth. Yes, it does hurt! But not so much that I won't use it again! The first time I used it, I got about 1/3 to 1/2 of the hair and couldn't take anymore so I shaved the rest. When the shaved hair grew back, I used the remover on it. I stayed hair-free for about 5 days or so until the first round of hair I plucked started growing back. This way I'm not plucking so many hairs at one time and it's alot less painful. I think it was definitely worth my money!

The curve made it difficult to remove chest and abdominal hair. Even where the curve was not a problem, it seemed to work like a shaver rather than an epilator. Couldn't help but wonder if the curve bothered women with big thighs. I sent it back.
I am more than satisfied!!!

I cannot compare this product to other epilators, because this is the first one I’ve used. Still I absolutely love it! It was slightly uncomfortable, but nowhere near unbearable. If you can stand getting your legs or any other area of you body waxed, you can handle this. I would recommend it to anyone, especially for the price.
One negative, you may have to go over a spot more than once.
never thought it would work...well it did

I've been waxing for years and I'm DONE!! I even bought a personal waxer and sent it back. Yes, it hurts the first time - but after that it's great. A bit difficult to get a good angle on the underarms but legs and bikini were easy.
LOVE this gadget!

I just received this product and am very impressed. I bought it specifically for facial hair, particularly upper lip, chin and cheeks. At 57, I'm not wild about "peach fuzz". I've tried tweezing (youch! and far too many!), waxing, which REALLY hurt and didn't get all the hair and various brands of depillatory creams, all of which really irritated my skin and left it very red and rough. I have sensitive skin, and this product worked great and with minimum pain - more like "twingies". I followed the directions and also found that turning it for change of direction helped remove hair quickly and less painfully.
I did have to go over the area several times, but it's not a problem and now my face is baby smooth and soft.
Also must say, Folica shipped VERY promptly. I would shop here again and highly recommend this product, at least for the face. Arms and upper thighs might go quicker with a depillatory. I am going to try it in the underarm area when I have enough growth. GREAT product and I think highly under-rated.

I can't believe this item rated so low on a scale of 1 to 5. I almost didn't try it. It is fast, effective and does its job flawlessly. Now if you think ripping thousands of tiny hairs out of your body will be painless, you are wrong. A wet body and a dry martini will help. Three more pieces of advice, get the rechargable, get the rechargable, get the rechargable.
Finally my solution

I'm not going to lie and say it didn't hurt, but the pain is NOT unbearable.
And it took away the hair, and the region is now super smooth.
I'm very happy with it, I can't wait to use it more and make more hair go away.

I'd never used one of these before, but all I have to say is that it hurts like hell. And it leaves short hairs behind. F*** me for being a metrosexual.
This is great if you are realistic!

I received the Emjoi hair remover for a gift, and was really excited to try it out. This product DOES work, however you have to be realistic about your expectations. Of course it hurts a lot the first time you use it.. there's a lot of hair for it to tweeze, and did you really think a machine that pulls out your hair wouldn't be painful? However, once you get through the initial de-fuzzing, it doesn't really hurt, because you are sort of just doing routine maintenance. Also, you've got to expect that if you've been shaving before using the Emjoi, it's going to take a couple sessions before all of your shaved hairs have grown out and been plucked enough to give you completely smooth skin.
But, if you are patient and commited, you'll end up loving having the results of waxing without the cost and hassle.

Oh my gosh. I have a high tolerance of pain. Anyone that gets their armpits waxed has a high tolerance of pain. I thought I'd try this product instead of waxing. PAIN. So, I also tried on legs. PAIN. I tried on upper lip. PAIN. I wouldn't recommend this product.
I don't think so!!!!

I didn't really like this product. I think it's pretty painful actually. I almost prefer waxing. I gave it to my mom and she uses it.

This product worked great, except had to go over some of the same spots. Painful under the arms, though.
