Not What the Advertising Promises

The ads and even the pictures show the Emoji being used for the removal of facial hair. But when I read the directions, it said it was not meant for that purpose, except for more than a few stray hairs. If I ONLY had a few stray hairs on my face, I wouldn't spend almost $100 on a product to remove them!! I own a $0.99 tweezer! I did try it on my face anyway. They were right.
As far as using it on other body parts, it does work, but is VERY time consuming. Prepare for it to take HOURS to do your legs, if they are hairy. It does not get all the hairs in one pass (it sometimes took me up to ten passes to get all the hairs). The pain was bearable (to me, maybe not to others), but the length of time required was not acceptable. I would only recommend this for someone who is blond and lightly hairy. Not dark and has a hair problem, like me.

After having had the Norelco Satinelle hair remover and being told that it is no longer available, I searched the web for a replacement. Found this one and I am very disappaointed for the money spent. The head of the shaver is tucked too far down and yes, it is able to go into crevices, but does not seem powerful enough to do a good job of hair removal. Will definitely keep on searching.....Not happy at all.
Wow - what a machine!

I have just purchased two of these and both my friend and I think that it is absolutely fantastic! We both had the braun slik epil previously but the gold tip and extra tweezers on the emjoi mean that this is by far a superior product.
It is much louder than the Braun but gets so many more hairs first time around.
Beauty is pain and this is no more painful than the braun and the more you use the less painful it becomes.
Only thing I could say is negative is that the plug is not compatable with UK power points.
It's great!

I am so happy with this item! At first I was scared that it would hurt but once you get used to it, it's fine. And a little irritation is fine when you know that the hair will be gone for awhile. I use it for facial hairs that I used to tweeze on my chin and this is SO MUCH FASTER and EASIER!!

I just recieved my Emjoi today and tried it out....I must say i am impressed with the results but it was a little painful on the face but i did it anyways because I knew it would get easier from what i have read and heard from others .... But it does do what it says remove hairs and that is Wonderful....I will have to wait to see how long it takes to come back before having to do it again......But i do reccomend this product~ for me it was worth a little pain to have the hair gone.... :-)

I think this is an excellent product. I previously tried an Emjoi Optima and that worked almost as well, but was corded only. This Gold Caress unit works better than the Optima, and has the convenience of cordless operation; plus the styling of the Gold Caress makes it much easier to handle. (It also works corded.) I would highly recommend this product, but caution anyone not familiar to this type of hair removal, that it is NOT painless, even though this unit is the best I've tried, and DOES minimize the discomfort. Using this product is essentially the same as manual tweezing, but hundreds of times faster. My advice would be if you find it too painful to remove individual hairs with a tweezer, then you should avoid this type of epilator. In fact, removal of coarse hairs for the very first time would be better done by manual tweezing before 'graduating' to this produt. My opinion is that tweezing is,by far, the best way to remove hair, and the Gold Caress is the best way to 'tweeze'.

This product does exactly what it is designed to do. I love mine and will order a second in case you ever stop selling them! I "was" a hairy man and I now use it all over my body. My wife constantly borrows it to use on her legs.
Yes! The first time you use it, IT HURTS! That's a lot of hair to pull out all at once. Use Ambolsol or some other baby's teeth cutting numbing solution. Goodness! If you can't stand some discomfort why do you worry about how you look anyway. The more often you use it the less it hurts, really!
I used to have to shave with a blade twice a day. Now I use my Emjoi about once a week. My skin is as smooth as a baby's butt.
PROBLEMS: Keep clean, charge battery regulary, don't put the top on backward. Those are my faults and not the machine's. 5 stars!
The best thing that ever happened to me...

Thank you Emjoi! Over the last 3 and 1/2 years you have saved me £1344 and given me the freedom to enjoy complete hairlessness all the time. Don't have to turn down trips to the beach because it's the week before my monthly waxing visit and I'm covered in prickles! Emjoi hurts initially and will always hurt a little on sensitive skin (but nothing like waxing) - but on main hair removal areas, lower leg and arms I feel little or no pain and it has transformed my confidence in my body. Only someone with reasonably heavy body hair could really appreciate just how wonderful it is to have absolute control of your depilation. I now have just a third of the hair growth on my lower leg and other areas are getting noticeably thinner. After 6 months of using my first emjoi gold I thought I would be super efficient and buy a second one so that if the first one broke I would never be without one - guess what? It's still in the package safely stored away!! 3 1/2 years down the road the first one is still going strong. It's a wonderful product, I don't think anyone could do better if they're looking for complete removal from the root and an end to shaving rashes. Thank you so very much!
won't last long!

Ok, first of all...epilating hurts! So, expect that and dismiss the reviews that complain of pain. My problem with this machine is that it broke just after the warranty ran out (a little over a year from purchase date). First, it would only work cordless and on a full charge. Yup, it wouldn't work when plugged in. Then, that cordless power time dropped to minutes (not a whole lot of time to get much done!). Now, the motor is locked up and nothing happens works.

The first time using it was rather painful, however I was told that this was normal and that after the first it gets easier which it certainly did. The regrowth is much lighter and softer. I no longer get razor burn. It does take longer to shave as you do have to go over areas a few times, however you don't need to shave as often.

After trying this product for 5 seconds I came to the conclusion that its almost impossible to use without feeling like you have just been tortured by your worst enemy.. The pain and discomfort is just to overwhelming for anybody to get any enjoyment out of this product.. Anyone who says this product is great must have reptillian skin of some kind.. Because this just does not suit a human.. It takes off the hair but to much pain is involved doing it, I suggest knowbody buys this product or any other product like this.

This product was not nearly as gentle as the description led me to believe it would be. Even the lower setting is painful for sensitive areas like face and underarms. As a first time user, I found the unit akward and inefficient. I had to cover the same area several times to completely remove all the hair. The first day, I spent almost an hour at it, only working on the lower portion of one leg, and even then I couldn't get all of the hair removed before the battery petered out. I also found it very difficult to position the unit properly for reaching all the curves of my underarms. It did work well for the hairs on my upper lip and chin, leaving them extremely smooth. But again, it was rather tedious and painful and the hairs are already growing back! Maybe this is typical, but I'd rather just go get waxed. At least I know that will be fast!

"Wow!! This is one terrific product! (Gently Gold) whoever designed this one took the time to get it right. It's fast. It gets all the hair (long & short), and it never gets caught in the hair or pinches or tears the skin. When the package arrived, I opened it immediately and decided to give it a quick test. Fifteen minutes later I had removed all my bothersome facial hair, leg hair, bikini hair, and underarm hair. This was beyond what I expected and exactly what I hoped for. Keep up the good work!!!"
