It doesn't catch all the hair and sometimes I have to go over with it a few times before it pulls the hair.
Hell of a product!

I cannot believe it. I have very thin blonde hairs all over my face, chin and lip. they are not course, thick hairs, but very noticeable and annoying. Up until now I have used a dipilatory cream, which burnt my face off and dryed out my skin, then I waxed which ended up waxing my lip skin off normally, was very painful, messy, and it still didn't get rid of all the hair. When I received this product I almost kissed the UPS man, then ran upstairs to try it out. It is loud, slightly painful, but who cares so is all the other stuff. My face is as soft as a babies butt and I will swear by this product. If you are reading this and still do not purchase, something is wrong with you.

Painful, something like electrolysis, but quicker, and a WHOLE lot less expensive, this little sister to the leg hair remover developed a few years ago, does remove the hair. On me, it leaves no red marks or painful after-effects, but that might not be the case on everyone. If your skin can't handle waxing,or electrolysis, you might want to proceed carefully.
I like it

I just got mine, so I am not sure how long it will last. But for $20, it's like paying for one underarm waxing without all the pain (I am shocked how painless it is), travel, and agony of waiting. So far, this is great!
does what it said it would

I was expecting it to hurt a lot but it didn't and I got used to it really fast. My underarms have never been so smooth. The only thing is that using it on my underarms, maybe because it's more curved and soft, I have to go over the same spot a few times. It definetely lasts longer than shaving and everyone who is complaining that it hurts so much are just babies. It's no problem.
Does the job

Didn't know what to expect since I've never bought a product like this before. I was pleasantly surprised, especially for its low price. The hair really was pulled up by the root. However, it does take going over the same area a few times. It isn't painless, but if you've waxed before, then it's not much of a problem. It does take some getting used to, though. I would have given it five stars, but it is a little noisy. Overall, a great product because it beats plucking and home waxing products.

This is just an incredible little thing. I'm lovin it!!! I used to wax my upper lip and chin, and I'm finding this works just as well so I'm using it as a total replacement for the waxing. I read some folks use it for touch ups, I can see that also... I know there are larger units available, this one works just fine for me though as my main method of facial hair removal.
pretty good

Its worth the money. It cuts your twizing time from 20 min+ to a min. It pinches a lot in the biginning but after getting used to it, its ok. I would recommend it.
Does what it claims

At first I had some trepidation about putting this fierce-sounding device close to my face (I needed to epilate upper lip and under the chin hairs). But after I'd tried it a few times and found that it didn't really take my face off or cause much pain (no more than a sudden tweezer tweak) I got used to it and was very pleased with the results. Haven't had it long enough to see how fast or thick the hair will grow back.
Its not a bad little fella for light use

This was my first experiance with an epilator (sp). I bought this cheaper model to have a see what its like. I'm a big hairy bastard and I used it to clear about a 9 inch diameter around one of my shoulders. I noticed a small decrease in power and decided to stop to see how I would react long term. The hairs it pulled out seemed to have a translucent coating at the base with a bulb like end, I suppoes it pulled it out to the root very nicely.
At first it kinda hurt but I seemed to become numb to the pain rather fast, it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. I had some slight bleeding and some acne looking bumps but they wernt too bad. It may have been due to the direction I was pulling them at, or the fact that my hair is pretty coarse. I'm a man what can I say the instructions are folded neatly somewhere around here.
Personally if I were to keep using this I would buy rechargable batteries and a charger to boot. Most likly for the area I want it for I would buy a more industrial model.

I have used the product for almost 2 weeks and I really believe that it will work really well. The price makes it very cheap, and as far as replacing batteries...that's not a big deal. They last plenty long considering I am mainly using this product for my facial hair.
Thanks for the reviews that helped me make my purchase wiser.

This product is not as painful as other products I have used. It works too! It is best for thinner hair like on your arms and face. Courser hair on the legs hurts more and is not as easily removed, but touch-ups are ok. This is a great product!
Happy With it....

It works very well. When you use it everything is not a smoth as silk but for what it is it does a great job. I use it on my legs along with a razer. It is best on my arms becaue I do not mind them not baing like silk as long as they are hairless at glace. I am very happy with this product.

This was the best $20 bucks that I have ever spent. They say better late than never, but I wish I would have known about this fantastic product much sooner. I would have saved a fortune getting my underarms waxed. The Emjoi EpiSlim Hair Remover is phenomenal, convenient and easy to use. You must be patient though, for you must work with only small sections at a time. You must work with each area carefully because the little devices are actually plucking with the tweezer-like mechanisms. It can be a bit time-consuming, but the results are so worth it.
This is a great product.

After shaving, nairing, and trying to wax myself- hair removal was horrible! It was time consuming and the results were only good for a very short period of time. I have finally learned that removing only the top part of the hair (by shaving or using nair) only makes the regrowth thicker and harder to keep up with! Waxing is great but unless it is professionally done, it is time consuming and doesn't remove all the hair if you do it yourself! After getting my hands on this product, I am so happy. My hair grows back softer, thinner, and lighter in color! Of course this product hurts- it is plucking the whole hair strand out of your body, root and all, but that is the only way to get great results! Pain is beauty and after a while, your skin becomes used to the plucking and you are completely satisfied.
Fabulous Product!!

Being 57 yrs. old and tweezing stray hairs for years, this was a Godsend! It hurts LESS than a tweezer, the noise is nothing, and it does a job like you can't believe. I am a believer. After years of trying so many futile products, I am glad someone finally hit the nail on the head. If you have two hairs to tweeze.. forget it... anything more? But it!

I had very blonde facial hairs that I had wanted for a couple of years waxed. I heard from my sister how great this product worked for her,so I tried it and absolutely loved it. For that matter, 5 people purchased it after I had told them how happy I was with this item. Yes, it pinches the first time I used it but after that it was fine and painless......and definitely better and cheaper than waxing.

This was my first epilator, I decited to give it a try and bought the cheapest one at Sharper Image. Was pleased that I didn't have to shave my legs every two days, but was very dissapointed with other characteristics of this product. It is VERY loud! Also it takes a VERY long time to finish both legs(I had to do one at the time, it took so long(approx. an hour per leg)). Since there's no charger, it's a waste of batteries, it literally eats them.
