painful but what do you expect

It is a painful proeceedure but hey you're pulling out hair the only place I use it is in the face I think for thicker hair buy the bigger one.

This product removes hair very quickly. I had alot of small hairs on my chin. However during the initial hair removal process it took a long time, but now the hair grows back slower. I use this product for as few hairs here and there about every few days. I was hoping the hair would be pulled from the root, but I am happy to just have them removed. Also the product does leave darks spots, but they go away in a few days. Overall I am continuing to use this product and I do recommend it to others.

I was very worried that it might hurt, because I had tried an epilator on my legs a few years ago, and whoa that thing HURT!! But the epi slim did'nt hurt my chin at all! It hurt a little bit on my lower cheeks, but nothing I could'nt bear!! I have already let both of my sisters try it, and they have both ordered one!!! Thanks Much!!!

This little machine is a great item. As long as you use it as directed it does the trick. I have sensitive skin but it did not leave blotches & it did not hurt to use as I expected. For the price you can't beat it.

I have been battling chin hairs since my thirties. I was having a lot of trouble keeping up with the course ones (I have about 30 or so). As soon as you think you've plucked them all, another pops out. Epi Slim is the best thing EVER! I have never used an epilator before and it doesn't hurt at all. I just use it every five days or so whether i feel anything or not. I never have to obsess about chin hairs again. I can't say enough for this product. It saves loads of time and doesn't leave any behind as you would if you plucked. It also works great on underarms! I have sensitive skin and have had no problems. It gets the really short ones too so as soon as you notice one, you dont have to wait to use Epi Slim. Thanks for a super product! I really don't usually go on like this but it's so rare that you find a reasonably priced product that does what it says it will do and leaves you wondering how you lived without it.
Epislim is the answer!!!!!

I just wanted to write this review to let others know that my experience with this product has been outstanding!!!!!! I have recently tried those waxing strips to no avail it just about ripped along layers of skin along with the hair off my face and it took about a week for that to heal, what a sight......Then this product arrived just yesterday and it was so easy to use and manuever on your face. It works fantastic on your upper lip and chin. Compared to waxing,,,, this is far more comfortable. I would also like to add , the next day my skin was not irritated with little red bumps as it looked the next day from waxing. I love this little product you can touch up and remove hairs as often as needed...I highly recommend anyone to definitely give this product a try and you will not be disappointed, TRUST ME!!!!!!

I absolutely love this product! I have been shaving daily for the last fifteen years and now I only have to do a touch-up every week or so. The first time you use the product it does indeed cause some discomfort, but after two times the pain was gone and I can now enjoy being stubble-free for the first time that I can remember. I have already recommended the product to all my friends and plan on buying other products from the same company - excellent product for a cheap price!

I've been reading these reviews for a real long time but never got around to buying this epilator until recently. I really liked it and it worked just as I thought it would.
Run it over the area a coupla times and the hair is ALL gone!
I think people who find that it doesn't work too well are maybe not using it right; the trick is to hold it 90 degrees to the skin, with the logo facing up, and run the epilator up and down or in steady circular motions (as the manual says). Both work fine for me, I rather think the circular way is less painful but that could just be my imagination :)
The only reason I gave it four stars was because I had the bigger Emjoi which I used on my legs, and it gave me awful ingrowns :( It usually appears over a period of time and not after the first few times, so I'm waiting to see what happens with this.
Otherwise it's definitely a great buy! And much cheaper than other epilators.
Hurts, but worth it!

Well after reading all of the reviews for a couple of weeks, I decided to try it for myself, so I bought it. I have to say I was afraid of getting it near my face, because it was SO loud, but once I did, I got over it. It sounds scary, but it isn't. And it does hurt, quite a bit. But of course, the more you use it the more you get used to the pain. I tried it on my legs, but I don't think it's good for legs because it's just too time consuming. But for the face, it's perfect!!!!

I bought this product a year ago and I love it! It takes the hair out so fast that your barely feel a thing. Great for if your traveling...

The Emjoi Epislim is everything it promises. It provides inexpensive, effective and comfortable hair removal. This is my first experience using this kind of hair remover and I was pleasantly surprised. It handled facial hair quickly and easily, and without irritation. Faster than tweezing; less messy and more comforatble than waxing; longer-lasting than methods that remove hair at skin's surface. I recommend this product without hesitation!

I had great expectations on this product. When I recd it in the mail I tried it on my facial hair. I held my skin taunt as directed and it did not tweeze one piece of hair... fine or corse! I now have a big red spot in the middle of my chin where it took a layer of skin off and the funny thing is it left the hair there! Was very disappointed.

I have a combination of fine and very coarse hair on my face. I thought I was a freak! I had been shaving for about a year, but I was so self-conscious and was sure that everyone could tell. This product is the best! Yes, you have to go over some areas many times and tweeze the toughest hairs, but this product has literally changed my life for the better!!!!

I have had dark and peach-fuzz type facial hair all my adult life. I have tried bleaching, waxing, plucking and depilatories. I had pretty much given up and started shaving. I finally found something that works. My face broke out initially, because I have very sensitive skin, but I got it calmed down and now my face is smooth and hair-free. I use this every day now with no problems.
Better than shaving or tweezing, but not perfect

This device works better on fine, thin hair than on coarse hair. It hurts a lot less than others that I have used, but you have to maneuver it around and go over the same area quite a few times to get results. I still have to go back in with my tweezers to get the hairs it missed. I guess it's easier than tweezing all the hairs individually. Still, don't plan on throwing away your tweezers just yet.
Ok Product if you are not a hairy beast like me!

the product was ok but not as good as I hoped. If you aren't very hairy and just need a touch up it would be ok. It does take getting used to but not that painful...comparable to plucking. It seems like it just cuts the hair but it does pull it out from the root which is good. It is a bit loud but you get used to it. If you have a lot of hair or course hair I would not recommend it.
