Product Rating: 5 Great product!
Reviewer: Leah   Thu Oct 22 2009

I recieved my Epilator today and I tried it right away. Who ever says it hurts either has a low tolorance for pain or they should try using it at a different time of the month depending on your cycle. $20.00 you will not be dissapointed. It did not "cut" my hair it pulled them out. It's not overly loud, you just can do it in the office! lol I absolutely love it and I feel like I got a steel!

Product Rating: 5 LOW PRICE AND DOES THE JOB!

I have gone through 3 epilators by 3 name brands like emjoi and each one costed me between 70-110 and this last one that I tried worked the same way and the best thing is its convenient for travel as well. It works great!

I have hair on my upper lip and it is on the dark side so i finally decided to get rid of it. I didnt know what was the best way to remove it so I looked at a lot of reviews for waxing, shaving, epilating, and other methods. I decided to go with the epilator and I think it was the best choice. It doesnt hurt at all. I have never waxed or done any hair removal besides regular shaving for my legs and bikini area and this didnt hurt one bit. At first it stung a little but nothing compared to how I thought it was going to be. I highly recommend it. Ive been using it for about a month now and Im very satisfied. I havent gotten any bumps or ingrown hairs or irritation. I just use it at night and then moisturize and my skin is smooth.

Product Rating: 4 shocked this works!

I bought this thinking I would only be wasting 20 dollars... no biggie. I'm in college and dark haired/Mediterranean, so bikini waxing sucks up WAY to much of my tiny budget.

i use this on my legs for touch ups/easy to nick areas and my bikini line. i esp love it on my bikini line. it's not perfect, and you do need a good 15 minutes or so to use it, and maybe 5 days or so of growth. doesn't get it 100% hair free, but it leaves behind only a few fine hairs so i can shave and get it baby smooth. (usually shaving is terrible and leaves me with nasty bumps.)

also, after a few months, i hardly need to shave or use it at all any more. just like waxing, it rips out the hair at the route, so it's painful but it deff. does the job!

big draw backs are that it's loud and youre left with 1000 newly plucked hairs. not the best for dorm use.

Product Rating: 5 best thing I ever bought myself
Reviewer: Barbara   Sat Dec 27 2008

This is fantastic. I bought it to use on my chin. I have had my facial hair lazor removed and now have random black course hairs, along with old age also has come farsightedness and I found tweezing quite hard and thought an all at once would be easier. I loved the results and began using it on more areas of my face. I also use it to remove the thin peach ve fuzz above my lip, and to pluck my eyebrows. I don't know how I ever managed with out this thing! My only conplaint is sometimes I tend to get some pimples after using. Using a topical coritsone cream seems to helps aliviate this problem.

Reviewer: AZ from milwaukee  Sat Dec 13 2008

I read so many reviews about it and thought it would work for me, but it really didnt. I had to return it the next day!
It didnt take out hair from my face at all.
It was way too loud as well.

Not as painful as described in other reviews but is kinda loud.

Product Rating: 5 So glad I bought this...
Reviewer: joy from louisiana  Fri Oct 10 2008

I had never tried an epilator before this but I am so glad I did! The first time I tried it, the fine hairs came out very quickly and easily but the thicker hairs didn't. So I tweezed the thicker hairs. As the tweezed hairs grew back they were finer, so I was able to use the epilator on them the next time. I have done a light touch up with the epilator every 2-3 days so far (it's been about 2 weeks now) but the hair seems to be hardly growing back at all!! I am amazed! It sure beats shaving every day!!!

You have to move it in small, fast circles over your skin to catch the hairs. You can't just move it in a straight line. Also, the first time I used it, it was slightly uncomfortable but after that the hairs you are pulling are finer and they come out easier so it is less painful each time you use it. I do recommend using this at night before bed so that your skin can calm down overnight, but this becomes less necessary as the hairs get finer. Also it really helps your skin if you exfoliate before and after using the epilator.

I highly recommend this product.

Product Rating: 4 Works very well if you can take the pain
Reviewer: Yahaira C from Miami, FLorida  Thu Sep 18 2008

While looking for an alternative to professional waxing, I came across this product on your website. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain; I wax routinely (I'm not too hairy but I live in Miami, nuff said), and sport a couple of tattoos. Undeterred by the prospect of painful defollicle-ing I purchased the product.

Ladies, if you don't think you can take the pain of waxing DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. Waxing is painful but quick and more tolerable; I could barely stand using this product in my bikini area. Since yesterday was the first time I used the product, I'm hoping it will be less painful next time around.

Overall, the product worked great. Fantastic for my legs and underarms (I purposely let my body hair grow to test out this product), and worked quite well in the bikini area. I noticed it hurts less on shorter hair so next time, I'm trimming the hair prior to applying this product to the area.

Product Rating: 5 Best Hair Removal Product Ever
Reviewer: Kathy H. from New Jersey  Thu Sep 18 2008

I purchased this product a few months ago from Folica for use on my chin and upper lip area. This is the best product I have ever used. At first, hair removal was slightly painful and I was having a problem with minor underskin bumps (not many, but annoying). But, after a couple of weeks of use, the bumps stopped and my skin has never been smoother. I went from waxing weekly to having a new box of wax unopened for about two months! It's great for the face. I'm no longer self-conscious about this issue.

Product Rating: 3 works but hurts!
Reviewer: Kyle from chicago  Thu Sep 04 2008

I purchased this product a couple of weeks ago for my upper lip (i have black hair so even a little hair shows up on my pale skin!) this little thing which i call the "devil stick" works good, it does get all of the hair if you are brave enough to use it! it hurts a LOT! i know people say that the more you use it the less it hurts, after using it once i get so nervous using it a second or third time because i know the pain i am going to go through! if you are going to use it, its best right after the shower when your skin is soft and your pores are more open! Good luck!

Product Rating: 5 Best Product for Facial Hair
Reviewer: Claudia Miranda from Lake Mary, FL  Thu May 22 2008

All poor review are due to the product being used for bigger areas. This has to be used on the face ONLY. It is perfect for it. I used to own a different one that was not good. This one is perfect for facial hair. I recommend it to everybody.

Product Rating: 5 Touchups are a breeze
Reviewer: Laurie from Milwaukee, WI  Tue Apr 15 2008

Use this all the time for touching up bikini area and for taking off the tiny hair from face and hands. I love the way my face feels when I'm done - so soft. I had tried waxing but it tends to be time-consuming and messy, and it works no better than this epilator. I like using this so much that I ordered a larger one to use on larger areas like my legs. It is true that it probably hurts the most the first time you use it, and even then it is not that bad. (I am not a very hairy person so maybe it will hurt more if you are.)

Product Rating: 4 Better for small areas
Reviewer: Diana from just moved to Washington state from Miami, FL  Mon Apr 14 2008

This epilator fits perfectly in your underarm; first couple of uses sting, but the more you use it the better it works and the less it hurts...great not to have to shave everyday now!

Product Rating: 4 Small and effective!
Reviewer: Ann from Michigan  Sun Mar 09 2008

Wish I had discovered this years ago! It took a little getting used to. A bit painful initially, however, nothing like the pain experienced with waxing and tweezing. After using it a few times, it isn't the least bit uncomfortable. Everyone has different types of hair and skin so people experience different results. This is definitely worth a try.

I used this product on my bikini area and it was VERY painful. It left me bleeding badly w/ HUGE red bumps. Two days later the hair began to grow back but the bumps still didn't go away:(

Product Rating: 2 The Emjoi EpiSlim Hair Remover did not work as expected.
Reviewer: Beth   Sun Feb 17 2008

Even when used as directed, the hair remover did not remove hair well. I could feel the few hairs that were pulled out most were left behind.

Product Rating: 1 Not for me.
Reviewer: Lisa from Plano, TX  Wed Feb 13 2008

I bought this product. However, it hurts a lot . I have courser hair and it didnt even pull them out. It was almost like not using anything. I suppose if you have some soft hair it might work. But didnt on me and the few finer hairs it pulled out hurt a lot.

Product Rating: 4 Good for upper lip and chin area
Reviewer: pam   Sat Feb 09 2008

I am a white woman in my late 30's with very fair skin and hair. I also have 'peach fuzz' on my face. Since I am getting older (and during pregnancy) the hair growth seems worse. I was most concerned about the hair above my lip and on my chin. Waxing regularly was expensive and it's too hard to get to the salon on a regular basis, so I thought I would try this product. I also am concerned that waxing my upper lip will cause wrinkles - although I've never read anything to support this it just seems to me it would be a natural result. The first time I used the EpiSlim, it hurt much more than I expected. It left my skin red, so I recommend doing this at night before bedtime so you have time to heal. I was scared to use it a second time b/c of the pain, but when I did it again it was MUCH better. I think how much it hurts is dependent on your pain tolerance, how dense the area is with hair, and how long the hair is. Don't let the regrowth get too far before using this product. It is also helpful to make the skin as taught as possible when using the EpiSlim. I'm really happy with this product and would recommend it for others to use on their chin/upper lip area.

Product Rating: 1 Ouch!
Reviewer: Alycia Farley   Fri Feb 08 2008

Product definitely does what it says it does, but it hurts pretty darn bad, and left spots along my jaw line and chin bleeding. It even hurt for several days afterwards with makeup on. I will keep searching for a removal item as this one is definitely not for me!
