I like keeping my hair buzzed, and just needed a little "fill in" color at the crown, and this product is great for that. I use a sea sponge to dab it on, and it looks very natural. I like this product the best among the coverup creams and sprays.
DermMatch - GREAT FOR GASTRIC BYPASS PATIENTS!!!

Well, I received my DermMatch last night. And of course, as soon as I got it I took it into the bathroom to try it on. I am using it dry. Wetting it seems messy. IT WORKS LIKE A DREAM!!! If you can put on make-up, you can use this. Not even sure why people are complaining about there not being good directions..Um..Hello? It is NOT brain surgery, folks. Anyway. I am a gastric bypass patient of 2 1/2 years. This surgery caused quite a bit of hair loss. I have felt so self conscious about how thin my hair is since the weight loss. NOT ANYMORE! It was so easy. All you need is a bit of time, practice and PATIENCE. I feel BEAUTIFUL again!!! Even more so after a 130lb weight loss. And just after 2 uses, last night and this morning. I will forever be a customer! No wigs or weaves (yuck!) for this gal! DermMatch ROCKS!

I read both positive and negative reviews and decided to try it myself. I actually found it very helpful. The trick to using it is to slightly wet the applicator but also to apply it lightly to the scalp preferably right after shampooing your hair. It lasts all day and will not run off if your hair gets wet. I like it and will be buying it again. My only complaint is the color is actually darker than depicted online.

Pathetic -- minimal coverage its like putting wet mud on your hair. I do have hair --- its not that I am missing significant amt. of hair and I expected the coverage to be better and fuller but the product leaves the hair feeling like you put mud on it. I prefer topik hair fibers to dermatch
descent enough

Dermatch is okay to me, but I'm still a little unimpressed by the so-called thickining technique. Dermatch is great for coloring in those scalp showings, and it actually looks great on me. But I think the differnce is that I have quite a bit of hair on my hair line which is where I used it in the first place. I could see why it would not be good if you don't have a considerable amount of hair, but if you do, it looks fairly descent. As for the sun,What makes it so detectable for some people is still about how much hair you had in the first place. If you don't have enough hair then it will look like paint on a bald forehead with no full or thickness. But it really doesn't thicken to me anyways, but with a reasonable amount of has it lokks slightly better.
Okay at best

Toppik is by far an overall better product. It takes multiple Dermatch applications to get some coverage. Do not get this stuff on your sink, hard to clean up. I never achieved what I saw in the pictures for this product. The only positive is that it works well with hairline transplants. Too much Toppik makes plugs stand out. Dermatch blends in better between the plugs. Then again, so does mascara.

I first noticed my hair was going very fine on top about two years ago and being a woman it was very soul destroying I used to wake up in the middle of the night just to look at my scalp under the light, since then I have tried every hairloss concealer on the market from spray on hair to sprinkle on hair. which did the job quite well in most lights but looked very unatural in sun light. I read all the good reviews about DermMatch and decided to order some, I have lightened blonde hair so wasn't sure what colours to order I eventually decided on Platinum Blonde and Medium Brown. When I first used it my hair looked very dry, but with a bit of practice it now looks very natural and the colours blended together blend in with my roots very well I am really thrilled with the result it is a bit messy to apply but the result you get is well worth it, it stays put all day no matter what the weather is like and if you dont need to wash your hair every day it stays put for a couple of days. If anyone is thinking about ordering the product please do you will not be dissapointed.

I purchased DermMatch dark brown, it looks on the hair like charcoal black, even after 24 hours from application it smudges your fingertips and fingernails when you run your hands through your hair and it smudges your forehead with residue, the product i recieved had no production date or expiry date on it, i had to return it on 8/31/06, thinking that i will get refunded for shipping expenses as folica claims to do when the return is a result of their error, they say it takes 5-7 business days for refund, it has been more than a month and i still did not recieve refund of my shipping expenses, first Folica denied recieving my return package then when i faced them with their recieve signiture they admitted to recieving it but refused to refund shipping. my advice to you is dont deal with folica, most of their products are ineffective and they dont keep to their words.

I have been using toppik for the past 6 months and have really loved it...I have enough hair so it blends in really nice but it does come off if you put your head on something and if you go in the water game over...I wanted to find something that was good in the water also so i just recieved dermatch and used it for the first time.I put it on my hair dry and it looked great ...The hair line is way better than toppik. The back however is not as easy if you have bald spot ...It does work but takes little time.I took a shower to see how well the product stays on when being wet and it was amazing ..I was so happy to see that it stayed on and did not run...I am looking forward to my vacation now.Toppik is a vey good product but i now like dermatch best....

this stuff works good for thinning hair. it takes the shine off my scalp and makes my hair look thinner. Easy to use and last forever.
Poor color matching, no instructions

I have definitely dark brown hair but was dubious about the color swatches that DermMatch provides us for choosing what will match our hair. I e-mailed Folica.com to ask the colors of the two products shown in the photo on their web site; they told me they are black and light brown. So, I took a chance on the dark brown.
What I received looks like charcoal grey; I can see a tint of brown if I look at the product in strong light and tilt it at just the right angle. On my scalp it appears nearly black. I'll have to return it and try medium brown.
My recommendation is that DermMatch provide photographs of their products so that we can see what they actually look like. If they can do this for two colors, why can't they do it for all of them?
Otherwise, application is easy enough(although the flyer that came with the product mentioned accompanying directions for use, there were none). I use it for my front hairline, but I still have to use Toppik as well to get a completely natural look. And I find that the DermMatch/Toppik combo-without spray-stays in place well for the few days I allow between shampoos.
Didn't "stick"

I tried this for the first time. I have some thinning...but not too much. I wanted to conceal a very small thin area on the top of my head. I followed the directions, but the stuff didn't seem to "stick". I kept applying it...and it just would not "stick"! I wouldn't buy it again. I prefer the Toppik.

I'm a woman with generally thinning hair, thinnest on top. I started out in my late 30s by buying a $500.00 hair integration that I wore with clips. I then graduated to an even more expensive hairpiece which I glued to the top of my head for about 3 years, which caused more hair loss I'm sure. I was really tired of having something glued to my head. I usually felt dirty under the hairpiece and worried when the wind blew in the company of others.
I grew the hair out under the hairpiece, using less and less glue and putting my lower natural hair up to hide things a bit. About 8 months ago I took the hairpiece off forever. I then dyed my hair a very dark brown (the hairpiece was a golden brown) and then filled in with dermMatch and Toppik. I was AMAZED that I looked like a "normal human being". People were distracted by the strong color change, which made them not notice the missing hairpiece. Some people didn't like the color but that was fine, I would lighten up later.
Having hairloss is never fun, but I am thrilled with this product. I have gotten faster and faster at applying it. Here are a few hints:
Apply to a wet clean head.
Use a fine tooth comb with a long pointy handle.
wear rubber gloves.
Start by pulling back your hair and working the front hairline, using a more watery mix to make the front more subtle.
Make parts with the handle of the comb starting and the middle and parting as you go down the sides of the head, filling in the color in the parts. This is much faster and neater than mucking around pulling hair apart with just your fingers. It's also a good technique to perfect if you are stuck somewhere without good mirrors.
Then make vertical parts as you work across the back of your head.
I then apply some aussie spray gel for styling and brush it gently through, blow dry and then if I want, curl.
When just being casual I find I can just use the dermMatch alone. If I really want to look my best, I use Toppik or Organin in addition.
Having the wind blowin through my hair is such a blessing. My hair does not look sumptuously thick as it did with the hairpiece but this is simpler and more pleasant by far.
One more hint: When washing your hair, have a large strong plastic cup. Wet the hair down, lather it up, then rinse with cups of water while bent over in the shower, away from the spray. This will rinse out most of the mess and NOT SPLASH IT ALL OVER YOUR SHOWER STALL AND CURTAIN. Then just shampoo again and rinse normally. I have found this has saved me a lot of mess.
I have an oily scalp and if in a time pinch will only wash my hair every other day. This stuff does come off under your nails. If you head is itchy, scratch by stroking with the backs of your nails only.

An excellent product. Easier and cleaner to use than spray or fibers. I have a very slight thining area where I part my hair and DermMatch is an excellent for coverup. I was constantly worried about this thinning area but DermMatch covered the problem. Such a positive change. I recommend it highly. Also it does not come off when you are sweating factor. I use a wet sponge applicator to dab it on, and then use a very fine comb.
This product works best on front hair lines .

Contrary to reviews I read when I bought this product . DermMatch did not
cover as well as I thought it would . It did help conceal my thinning front air line . My thinning hair on the top of my head did not get the coverage I hoped for .
The best!!

I am a female who has experienced hairloss since the age of 18 and I am now 26. I don't have any major bald spots you can see, just thin, limp hair. Still, it has been quite devastating to me to the point where I hate going out in public. After reading reviews on DerMatch, I decided to give it a try. All I can say now is, "I love this stuff!" I ordered the dark brown even though I have highlights and it blends into my roots quite well. It is not detectable and the application is so easy. On the days that I just rinse my hair without shampoo, it stays in great. It has not come off on my pillow at night either and it is not messy to apply. Anyways this stuff is awesome!! It has been quite a lifesaver for me.
Great product!

Once you get used to the application this stuff rocks. Also, I can tell the product goes a long way for the money. I would recommend this product for people that are thinning but have general hair coverage.
Also Folica is great! Communications, shipping and overall professionallism top notch!
