Excellent for keeping the natural curl in my hair. Works much better than those diffusers on regular hairdryers.
Not for thin hair

I did not care for this product. I have thin, fine hair and the air flow was too strong. My regular hair dryer on low works much better. The air flow was too much and did not help to keep my curls in place, it did the exact opposite.
Disappointed

I would love to say that I love this diffuser, but I can't. On high it blows my curls out just like a regular dryer would and on low it takes forever and a day to dry my hair. Plus my hair has gotten caught in the fan blade a few times. Now I'm stuck with a dryer that I can't use and paid over $40.00 for! I think I'll just stick to a diffuser that I can attach to my regular dryer and give this one to Goodwill.

If you have natural curly hair then do NOT buy any other product to dry your hair!! This product is the best hair dryer diffuser ever made!!! It dries without distorting the curl and does not make your frizz.
Didn't work for me.

I have very curly coarse hair that frizzes very easily. I also live in Alabama where it gets very humid. I was hoping this dryer would dry my hair faster and leave it frizz-free but unfortunately it didn't. Maybe it is just my hair type that it didn't work well with. I returned the dryer to look for something better.
Hard to find

Although I think this item replaced the old Windmere Curly Top dryer, it is not quite as effective a dryer as the old one was. When used on low there is just barely any drying action going on. However, using this type of dryer constantly on high will wear it out quickly. That aside, it is the only dryer of it's type that I have been able to find so that makes it a worthwhile purchase for someone with not-too-thick curly hair that loses its curl with conventional blow-dryers. It is lightweight so you can use it while you have your coffee in the morning. The service was very good- it arrived in only 3-4 days.

My mom got me my Curly Top dryer in 1987! Mine is even older looking than the picture! My Curly Top and I are still going strong! It's the only thing that dries my curls and doesn't frizz them! People always ask me what my secret is to my perfect curls! I'd be lost without this dryer! ;)

This is a wonderful hair dryer. I had one for several years and it just wore out. I looked and looked in local stores and could not find a replacement. I went to Google, typed in "Curly hair dryer" and there it was. I am more than happy with this hair dryer. What I like about it the most is that when I shampoo my hair I just get out my Curly Top Diffuser and my hair just falls into place. I will definitely shop at this vendor again.

I had one of these hair dryers for years - until it burned up. I've always wanted another one, but never came across one in any store. I finally had the bright idea to search online and found this one. Aside from the fact that it's a great hair dryer for curly hair, it's so much easier to pack that a bulky standard hair dryer and diffuser.

I was so sad when my Curly Top stoppped working after 15 years (it's true - I bought it in California. Moved to NYC with it. It then moved to DE with me where it sadly died.) I searched online for it, but could not find it until now. Thanks Folica.com!

I have used a Curly Top for years, but dropped it several times and it didn't work so good anymore. I tried and tried to find a new one, and thank goodness I did. It came today and I showered and shampooed my hair and used it. It'a very little bit different from my old one, but works the same, I have short permed curly hair and so the Curly Top is perfect

I'm just not using this dryer. It only dries on cool, which takes too long and didn't seem to curl my hair more - just made it softer. So I got the idea to first dry my hair a bit with my regular dryer on hot, do other things and finish up a little later with my regular dryer on cool. Works just like spending a lot of time with the curly top.
Hopeful but disappointed

I owned the original Curly Top by Windmere as well as the very good Hot Tools Ionic Diffuser. Both appear to be discontinued at this time.
So I was hopeful when I purchased this generic brand diffuser, but was disappointed in its performance. The airflow was weak and was strangely vented so I couldn't target the heat. Plus it was too hot for my curly hair. I'm sorry to say I returned it and hope that Hot Tools will reintroduce their old model.
Curly Top not for flippers/scrunchers

This may be an excellent dryer, however if you are like me and flip your head upside down to scrunch your curly hair dry and are used to laying your hair on the diffuser, you will not be able to do that with this. The opening over the fan blades is wide and the fan blades will basically chop your hair or twist your hair in the blades. I'm donating mine and want to prevent someone who processes her hair similarly from making the same mistake I did.

My new Curly Top Diffuser Hair Dryer is great. The style is just perfect for comfort for holding while drying my long hair. With other hair dryers my hair would be flying all over and causing alot of tangleing of my long hair.
I'm truly surprized they do not use this product in Hair
Salon's. The Curly Top is the best hair dryer I have ever used in the past 40 years!! Thanks for making such a great
product!!!!!!
Curly Top BLEW up

After having it for 2 weeks and using it yesterday for about the 10th time, it BLEW UP in my hand. I turned it on and BAM, sparks/small flame, etc. I was enjoying it as I have medium length wavy hair and it did a nice job but I'll not buy another.
I loved it until it died after 4 uses..

I love the idea of this drier. On first use I was thrilled with no-frizz, quickly-dried hair. It was a little loud, but I can live with that. After 2 uses, the noise it started making would be best described as "penny in garbage disposer". After 4 uses it began to spark and I am now returning it. I guess it's back to the traditional diffuser for me...

Felt this dryer didn't match it's name! I returned and spent the extra money to have the Sedu Ultrapower Hair Dryer and w/ diffuser. Worth the extra $100s. My natural curly hair is style curly, less frizz and dried in 1/2 the time. If you are intersted and can afford, spend the extra money it's worth it!
