how long does it last
I really want to know how long this straightener will last because there is this chi straightener and I a kinda want to buy it! plus it is only $60. I just wanted to know if I should buy the cortex instead!

Well i've had it for 4 months now, but i think it varies for people. If you live in Canada you can get it for $40, if not then buy it here. The retail price is usually around
$200 so its a great deal. |

Thinking about buying, but I have a LOT of questions.
So... does it straighten and curl for straight(ish) thin hair? Does it have any burning or damaging your hair problems? I have really straight hair, but in the winter it gets a little wavy, especially on the ends. Does it straighten the ends too? How long does it last? Does it have a warranty? For how long? How long does the curling and straightening last? If my hair gets wet from rain or whatever, will it stay straight or curled? Told you I had a lot of questions.

i just bought one yesterday it's oarange and i love it. it has all the instuctions for curling out and under and stuff. it has a one year limited warranty including things that were wrong with it when you first get it not damage like dropping it ETC. it made my hair really soft and has been straight since 6:15 this morning!
great product. also the box says it retails for 220$

OMGG. I went to the mall yesterday and i saw this same straightener for 180$. the lady was pressuring me in buying it for $160 ( she said she rarely makes offers like these ). Thinking this is a good deal, STUPID ME i bought it. I came home, showered, went to sleep. I wake up to straighten my hair with what i thought would be the best straightener EVER, and it was horrible! it was obviously better than my previous conair flat iron, but like i said it was HORRIBLE for a $180 straightener. There is no refund policy, only exchange. CRAPPP. do u think theres a way to somehow get a refund..? something with this page? HELP! :(

I was at the mall yesterday and a lady stopped me (you know them really annoying people at the stands) and btw my hair is really thick and already straight and it takes 4 ever to curls my hair and this thing made the curls look gorgeous!! and i was thinking for getting me 1 and my mother 1 for christmas but then she told me the price for like 150 a piece and i said nooooooo and she called the guy over and i got both of them for 110 dollars...they are really big liars and will do anything to sell...its like its recorded cuz they sound so rebotic, ya know... and IT DOES COME WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY...

is this the one that can curl your hair too? because the guy at the mall tried to sell me one but i didnt have the money..also, how long does it last in terms of working properly. i heard the heat on them dies down and it gets slower to get hot. is that true?

i'm not sure for all of your question, but yes. it does curl. i've had my hair curled with this straightener before :) it's really nice. |
Why such a price difference?
I am appalled that this Cortex is the same one that the stand at the Malls are carrying. I have been to 3 different states and 3 different malls and have seen this same product. I even got pressure from the sales people to prchase one, but I did not. The guy told me it was the girl's first day and he really wanted her to make the sell, so he first offered the Cortex for $150, then said that he would give it to me for his price of only $80, but don't tell anyone. At this point I knew it had to be some sort of scam because he dropped the price almost in half. Thanks, but no thanks, I'll keep my Chi

&& they sell it down here for $35.99 its really cheap down here. You Should usually by straightening products at Winners "IF" you like in Canada. THey have Really Cheap hair straighteners in that store |
Is it the same one at the mall?
Yeah I just was at the mall yesterday when I tried it out, of course I loved it but couldn't afford the price. 150 dollars is too much, I considered buying though on my next week even though I shouldn't. I even asked the lady if they had a website cause I know my sister would love it and she doesn't live near by but she replied no. So was she lying that they didn't sell it online?

I do believe that this is the same one from the mall. The lady at the mall did tell me that they sold it online, but that the iron would cost more if you bought it online. The lady at the mall that I went to showed me a box with $220 printed on it as the price, but she said that they were doing a 50% off sale in order to help with word of mouth. Now that I see that it is available online for $60, I would tell you to buy it here if you really like it and want it, but I got one from Sally's Beauty Supply that I think may be better. |
Is this flat iron the same as the cortex professional mark?
I had bought one of these cortex flat irons in the mall at a booth and it worked great however I paid 147.00 dollarsfor it! I am just wondering if you carry the same cortex flat iron at a higher price or did they totally rip me off?

they ripped you off.i baught one from the mall a year ago, and it stopped working. so i ordered the same thing from folica. same results for twice the price. |
