well, i would say if you are in a rush, and you don't have time to dry your hair first, it wouldn't hurt if u straightened it while its wet, BUT DONT DO IT ALOT. it basically FRIES your hair, especially your ends, it will give you split ends. i guess its because when you get out of the shower, with the heat of water, your hair becomes kind of weak, just like ur pores open, but when your hair dries, it will go back to its old condition.
this straightener works like MAGIC on dry or SLIGHTLY damp hair, dont let the reviews intimidate you, they are stupid for using it while its soaking wet. no straightener should be used on wet hair.
a tip from me, dont flat iron your hair alot, or expose to to any kind of heat too much. let it air dry once in a while, you will feel less guilty about damaging it, and you will be doing your hair a favour :)
so in conclusion, the wet to dry ones are better because they have those vents on top not just for water to escape, but also for oils, and moisture, so it leaves your hair dry, and shiny, and pin striaght.
hope i helped :D | My daughter's hair will not curl anymore!
I've been a Hair Stylist for 11 years. I purchased the Black Corioliss Flat Iron for Dry Hair. I have used it on my daughters hair about 10 times. She had naturally curly hair until now, over half of her hair is bone straight. We have washed and deep conditioned her hair and let it air dry, but it its still STRAIGHT. She only wanted her hair straight on occasions, not permanently! The only products she uses is Hair oil. If anyone else is having this problem or has any tips on how to get this curl back I would really appreciate them. INSTRUCTIONS CLEARLY SAY IN BOLD USE ON DRY HAIR BUT IT IS ADVERTISED AS WET TO DRY? Question posted by LEAH Mon May 21 2007 Submit your answer Corioliss or Sedu
Hi, I'm debating whether to get a Sedu or Corioliss. I have natural normal black Asian hair in medium/long length and I never use a flat iron before. My number 1 concerned is hair damage. I have done alot of research online. I love the wet/dry feature with Corioliss BUT there's no temperature control and it seems like it can only use on wet hair and not dry. Thanks for your response. Question posted by Lucky Mon May 07 2007 Submit your answer My hair won't curl after using Corioliss flat iron
I bought Corioliss wet to dry flat iron and have been using it for few weeks. Now when i let my hair dry naturally it won't curl ????? I am really upset about that as i don't always have the time to straighten my hair so i like to let it dry naturally. Now is looks awful. Does anyone know what i shoul do? I am a hair stylist. I used the dry flat iron on my daughter's hair about 10 times and the same thing has happened to her. She had naturally curly hair and now 2/3 of her hair is bone straight! I have shampooed and deep conditioned it, but no change. If you find a way to fix this please let me know. | voltage?
I travel a lot and wondering whether I can use this in 110 and also 220 voltage with converter? Question posted by flat iron lover Wed Apr 11 2007 Submit your answer dry hair?

My mom called a hairdresser & said that the hairdresser was talking about how the Chi causes less damage but from other posts on here that basically everyone uses a sort of smoothing product or something to prevent breakage or anything. So which straightner should i get? i have both and the chi drys out my hair. the chi really does not straighten my hair at all, after using it my hair is still wavy. but on the other hand b4 i started using the chi i had the pink corioliss and 2' from the sharper image with ionic conditioning built in and it was good on my hair. there was no damage and my hair was very soft. the chi is not worth the price and i now i cant send it back and im stuck with it! | | Reply by hala

Corioliss, because it tourmaline, the chi is just COATED in ceramic.
tourmaline is better because it produces natural ions so ur hair wont frizz . besides, tourmaline is tough like diamonds , and probably wont break if u accidentally drop it, when i was buying my Corioliss, another woman came out of a shop at the mall with a chi, and the woman selling the Corioliss took it out, and threw it to the ground, and there goes her chi. lol the woman returned her chi, and bought a Corioliss, of coarse she was fiorious, but when the sales lady explained what she did, the lady thanked god she found out before its too late.
also i heard that the chi has problems with the off/on button.

I bought this straightener at the mall last christmas, and my mom has really dry hair. She would never use a straightener in her life but I told her it makes your hair really smooth and doesnt damage it.....well trust me it works great on dry hair because she loves it and wants to buy it now. | | Reply by Andrea from Ca

I just got my wet to dry straightener and was so eager to try it that I used it on my dry hair today. It worked pretty well, but I have very thick, curly hair so it took a while. I had to go over some sections twice, but it is definitely straight now! I can't wait to see how it is when my hair is wet! | | Reply by hala
