i wouldnt recommend buying this at all.. for all the reviews of the girls that "love it" its because they havent had it for long.. trust me dont buy it.. the best kind is a "chi"

I just got mine yesterday and have used it twice, I'm a bit of a hair straightener junkie. It makes my hair so shiny and smooth. I have used a friends Chi and now she wants to use it after seeing my hair. I'm in college and all my friends want to use it. I had purchased it on e-bay.

I just love the Corioliss Flat Iron. I bought one about 3 years ago and purchased this one for my friend. She loves it also. I have naturally curly hair which has lots of body. I have never been able to get my hair really silky smooth until I used this straightener. I have had so many compliments about my hair. I had my hair cut about a month ago (it was long,to my mid back). The straightener worked great on my long hair and works just as well on my new short bob style.I've read other peoples' negative reviews and I just don't understand it. This is great!

I bought the product from a kiosk in Boston, MA, after hearing rave reviews about it from a few friends. The trick is to find the right heat setting for your hair. Being multiracial [most african american and latina ethnicities], I have very thick, curly hair which I do not RELAX, PERM or chemically process. So if this product works on relaxing my curls even in the hottest of humidity, I believe it can do the job for anyone. I can achieve the results I want by setting the iron to the highest or in the middle. People with STRAIGHT, THIN, lifeless hair should NOT be placing the setting to the highest or even the middle tepmeratures..Of course hair will burn easily and appear FRIED and COARSE!!!! Also the hair products used while utilizing the iron are important. Do not use anthing that will weight the hair down or emable the iron to SIZZLE or COOK the hair...it is like a frying pan [as someone else stated] so you DO NOT want styling products that will enable this effect. You want to use clear STRAIGHTENING SERUMS that COAT the hair, not permeate through, soak or absorb quickly in the hair, causing it to become WET or SLICK which WILL promote BURNING, FRYING, and additional damage which will eventually change the TEXTURE of your hair. I love this product, for those that are having problems with it, you should look into learning to care for YOUR TEXTURE of hair first before using any heating tools, so not to damage your hair. Do like I did, conduct thorough RESEARCH about your texture, what products work BEST on your hair, and ways to keep your hair healthy according to the texture. It's all about the TEXTURE of your hair and learning to manage it. Someone can have the flatest, most lifeless, thin, dull hair, but using the right styling tools and hair conditioning products will add more body and volume. product was very good however for the money I paid for it I was assured it had a life time warranty. I went back to the Mail where I purchased it and they no longer carried this brand. So i contacted corioliss and they would not stand behind the warranty stating it was not their problem since I purchased it at the mall.

I have extremely natural curly hair. I have worn my hair the same way for the last 7 or 8 years and I was so tired of the same style, but I didn't know how to change it. I was at the mall one day with a group of friends and the girl there asked me to let her try it on my hair. I was extremely hesitate at first, thinking that this was a scam, but I was really impressed. I purchased one as did two of my friends. When I tried it at home I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to do it. I was so surprised as to how easy it was to do. It took me a little longer at first, but since then I have gotten faster at doing it. It usually takes me about 20 minutes to dry and straighten my hair, that's all!!!! I love this product and would highly recommend it to anyone. I heats up really fast too.

Hello, I wanted to write a review because I saw the latest negative reviews on the two people who purchased from a kiosk in the South Park Mall in Charlotte, NC. I bought a flat iron from there too about a month ago. And just bought another one for my sister for Christmas. (that is why I happend to see your review,I was about to write one myself) I thought the same thing at first. That the iron was not as hot and pulled and broke my hair in the paddles. First, they should never let anyone walk away without telling them these tips. Run your iron once or twice first so that it burns off any residue left on the iron. Then the next couple of times add some hair shine oil on it. It's like a fry pan, you need to season it with that oil so that it doesn't pull and burn your hair. After I did that, I started seeing the steam and it was fantastic. I really hope you will try it and love your flat iron and much as I do. I've had many professional brands and I do love this one. Good luck....

I bought my Corioliss flat iron from a kiosk in the South Park Mall in Charlotte, NC. The guys put on a great performance showing me how good the product was. They are full of it. When I brought mine home it was a completely different product. My hair kept getting ripped out and caught in the plates of the iron and it was not nearly as hot as what I was using at the mall. I feel they show you one version of the flat iron and then sell you junk! Don’t trust these people. There is a reason there is no refunds. And if you are even considering it, plug one from the box in at the stand before you purchase. Because these people won’t give you your money back! Malls shouldn’t even allow them to sell there!

I purchased my Corioliss 1" flat iron from a kiosk in the mall because I was so impressed how healthy and shiny it made my hair. I have been using a Chi forever and couldn’t believe how much better this was. SO I THOUGHT!!! I brought it home and was shocked because I felt they pulled a bait and switch. My flat iron IS NOT what he was showing me! The flat iron I got does not steam or shine my hair like the one the guy used on me. It doesn’t even get very hot even with the temperature set all the way up. Also the plates are rough and it pulls and breaks my hair. I couldn’t believe the amount of hair I had stuck in the flat iron. I am going there tomorrow to complain. I think I may contact the Better Business Bureau on them too. Because they are fooling people!

Like others said, it was selling at the mall. I went to Garden State Parkway Mall. My boyfriend lives in NJ and I was visiting him. Anyway, I was watching a video of a woman straightening her hair. A lady came up to me and asked me if I wanted to have a try even though my hair is the straightest hair and she said she could curl my hair up. I hesitated, but decided to have a try. She did a good job on that. My hair was curly for a day even though through a rainy day and she didn't even use any hair product on my hair to make curls stay. I am hoping to get it for christmas if my boyfriend is getting me that. He was there when I got my hair done and he was impressed. So, it is all up to you guys to buy it or not :)

I've been using the Solia for over a year and before that a Chi. I have to use three products to get my hair shiny straight when I flatiron.
Had the Mall demo when I was in Honolulu (I live on Maui). Wow- stayed straight even in the RAIN! Tried it without any product but it didn't stay as straight. Then tried it with Silk Therapy and FHI Heat Sauce. Great again.
Liked it so much, brought one back for a friend. They both went on the fritz the second day. Some kind of short- it won't stay lit and heated. Called and they said to send them back for replacements. I'll keep you posted on how seriously they take their customer service. I'm not above making a large fuss to the Mall management.
Best flat iron I've ever tried.

I've had this Iron for over a year, it still works great. My hair isn't curly just real wavy. But I also use in my daughter and her hair is very thick. Her hair looks healthier and pretty when done. I'm going buy one for my sister for christmas.

i was at the mall and one of the guys offered to straighten my hair.........i don't know if he was using a completely different straightener, but when i brought this home and tried it, i was appauled. my el-cheapo conair straightener did so much better. i paid 100 bucks for this corioliss piece of crap, that snagged the ends of my hair, fried my hair to a crisp, and the ceramic plates also cracked on their own in a couple months. not to mention, when i brought it back to the mall to return it, they wouldn't let me. even though there is a so called "warranty". i was livid. i e-mailed the company and told them their service was awful, along with their products that they sell. since then, i bought a HAI straightener and have been very pleased with the results. so the moral of the story is, which i learned the hard way: DO NOT BUY HAIR STRAIGHTENERS FROM ANY MALL KIOSKS

I bought this straightner a year ago, and it cost a little over one hundred dollars, they made it sound great!i have moderate wavy hair .
I barely used it for the first few months, but now that i have really started to use it , i find very few days in which i like my hair , and that is when i use other products to help make it straight. If i dont use anything else it makes my hair extremely dry and it like sticks out.
This product was not worth the price!!!! Im deifnitley switching to the chi
So overall , i like my hair when i straighten it maybe one in ten days

I was under the impression that this product was supposed to be top of the line. I got it home and straightened my barely wavy hair. I wanted something that was just going to take away my frizzies. I was in shock the iron pulled my hair and gave my hair more frizz than I've ever had. I can't bring it back because it's non refundable. Maybe for a reason??

Ok, so I went to the mall today, and one of the men who work at the Corioliss stands asked if I wanted to try out the straightener. I said sure (i have very thick, curly, frizzy hair!!) and he did it. He told me THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO STRAIGHTEN THEIR HAIR...THE ONLY KIND OF STRAIGHTENERS THAT WILL WORK AMAZINGLY AND GET RID OF FRIZZ AND BRING BACK MOISTURE AND PREVENT YOUR HAIR TO GET MESSED UP IN THE HUMIDITY IS IF IT IS 100% CERAMIC PLATES!! THIS IS NO JOKE! The Corioliss works great!

This is a totaly rip off~!! it does not leave your hair shiny and stronger and healthier~!!!!!!!!!! it leaves it fried and burned and damaged! trust me i have thin straight hair and it totally ruined my hair~!!
