i think when some girls read thes reviews, they need to consider their hair..and also, when some girls are trying out the product..are you using it correctly? some people use too much hair, some go too fast. you need to use small sections of hair, and go slooooooww... i have shoulder length very curly, somewhat thicker hair and it works fabulous for me. now let me tell you something else...
when the woman at the mall did my hair, i went outside to test it. it was very humid.( we live in FL) i sat in the car for 20 min becxause it wass raining but i wanted to get the real effects..see how this really held up. 20 minutes later..my hair was perfect. so i went back inside and tested it. my suggestion is you do the same if you are buying it from a mall or sales rep..have them straighten your hair, then go outside when its humid. im very happy with mine. i also dont color my hair, which is damaging, so if your doing other damaging things to your hair, maybe that also effects the way the iron works? but iknow im happy. heres a before and after pic. the pic of my hair curly is when it was still damp so keep that in mind.

My CHI was fizzling out - and so I tried to replace it with this pretty, pink Corioliss. In hindsight, I should have just forked out the extra $100 for another CHI.
The Corioliss is good, but not great.
I have two complaints.
1. I don't like the fact that it doesn't notify you when it is ready to use.
The red light comes on immediately when the iron is plugged in, and it stays on until it's unplugged...no notification (blinking light) when the iron is hot and ready to use.
2. More importantly, the straight smooth hair achieved by the iron does not last!
Using the CHI, I could literally use it once thoroughly on my hair, and not worry about it for the entire day, sometimes DAYS.
With the Corioliss, my hair begins to wave and frizz throughout the first day. The shape does not hold.
Even in humid atmospheres, the CHI kept my hair straight and smooth. With the Corioliss, it's a lost cause, I just go curly!
On a good note: the Corioliss is similar to my belived CHI in it's shape and size. It's easy to handle, and it's size makes it easy to pack when traveling as well.

This is a good hair straightener...when I first tried it. It really did straighten my thick, short, poofy hair and made it straight. It would've been better if it had a temperature setting because it does get too hot when left unattended and with just one touch of my skin from my arm...it left a scar. Other than the heating problems...it's an overall good hair straightener. In this my senior picture, I used my hair straightener...doesn't it look great ? ( ^ _ ^ )lol

I worked in a salon myself and was around good products for a very long time the chi was pretty common and I tried it and liked it however last dec I came across this IN A MALL and should never believe things in the mall they are usually a scam. I liked how the lady did my hair and I was pretty impressed do they have a secret method cuz when I was there she made my hair look so healthy ect ect but after even the first time I just noticed that my hair seemed to get more and more damaged I let it do since I dye my hair alot but now over the past year I realize that it is my flat iron ITS CAUSEING SOOOO MUCH DAMAGE TO MY Hair I would suggest you use a protector so your hair doesnt break off and look horrible! And for the girl that doesnt know how to curl I didnt for a while all you have to do is spin your hair around the flat iron or I grab the hair hold it upside down and start spinng it you'll start to get the effect but ne ways with it. I know you might not be able to tell but the first picture is recent and if you look closly maybe you can see the breakage the bottom picture was right before I purchased this flat iron maybe you can tell the difference in the health

Okay, so my name is Eileen and I'm a real person in Atlanta who loves my Corioliss! Like a lot of the review writers here, I bought mine in a mall. I argued down the price to $90 and thought I was getting a great deal, and that was almost two years ago, but I see here you can get it for $60. But you know, I'd pay 4x that for this product.
I have naturally curly hair and have tried at least 10 different flat irons. I used my cousin's CHI occasionally though, and loved it (more than my cheap Vidal Sassoon one for sure) so I decided to buy one for myself. I went to the mall and a very nice Russian girl did my hair at a Corioliss kiosk. My hair ended up straighter and silkier than it had ever been EVER. I bought it and now, almost two years later, I swear buy it. I tell everyone. BETTER than the CHI and not nearly as darn expensive!
For those of you who give this product such crappy reviews, I wonder, do you know how to use it properly? Or maybe some hair works better with different products?
I don't know. All I know is that if it is possible to fall in love with small appliances, I'm in love with my cute pink Corioliss.

I puchased my flatiron after repeatedly seeing the presentations in various malls. At first I didn't believe the hype, but after seeing the same results over and over again, I was really niterested. I was tired of having the fried hair look and it my hair still looking horrible, so I bought the pink one! I use my flatiron everyday and it gives the best flip, curl (both under or over), no frizz, no flyaways, and most importantly no burnt fingers, face, or ears!!! I love this product and recommend it to everyone. In fact, everyone who uses mine, wants to buy it from me!!

it does not burn your hair nearly as much as the chi! so i say buy it! and they also come in diff colors! lik mine...is zebrah!! haha woo i luv it! so i say go for it and its a great buy and it totaly beats any other flat iron. plus you can do so much stuff with it. :P

i payed 275 for this straightner and a purple curler.. so far its worth.. my hair just doesnt look like the girls at the mall... but it still looks good compared the way it looked with my conair straightner... i just cant get the gurls to last a long time...teh girl at the mall said they would last for to days my a$$,, they last like 5 hours but they do look nice
...its not worth your money..

I BOUGHT IT AT THE MALL IN HOUSTON ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO AND WHEN TRYED IT OUT IT DID NOT WORK THE WAY THE PEOPLE AT THE MALL SHOW YOU AND THE CURLS DO NOT COME OUT RIGHT I STILL DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE CURLS. I ONLY USEED IT ABOUT 10 TIMES OR LESS AND NOW IT BROKE AND I HAVE BEEN TRYING 2 GET IT FIX FROM THE COMPANY FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS I HAVE BEEN SENDING THEM E-MAILS BUT THE ONLY THING THEY HAVE SENT ME IS YOUR CASE IS BEING DEALT WITH I THINK THEY TELL EVERY ONE .

I don't know why people are complaining so much about this product! I purchased it in the beginning of my senior year of high school, and it is still continuing to work great now that I am in college. It also does an amazing job curling hair! Plus this straightener is PINK- how much better can it get? However, like all straighteners, this one can do serious damage to your hair if you don't put a thermal heat protector product in it. I use Biosilk Silk Therapy and spray CHI Shine Infusion polishing spray on every section of my hair before I use this straightening iron. As a result, my hair feels silky and looks shiny and healthy, which is amazing since I dye my hair constantly. I definitely recommend the Corioliss hair straightener :)

I have seen some of the reviews on this product about how the straightener seemed to make their hair look better when it was done at the kiosk in the mall, and I must say this is true. The curls looked perfect when they did my hair in the mall, but I could never get them to turn out the same at home. Also, the straightener made a crackling/sizzling noise when I would turn it on. One of my friends tried it, and she didn't care for it much either. Invest in a Sedu or GHD! They appear to be the best.

I actually did fall for the whole mall gimmick, the salesgirls curling your hair, telling you it's unbreakable, dual-voltage etc. To me, the fact that they were charging such a ridiculously high price for it and that they were selling in large malls was all the reason I needed to think their product was legit. This is the perfect case of caveat emptor ("buyer beware").
After I purchased the product, I decided to google it for customer reviews and was SHOCKED at the number of bad reviews. You can mostly expect to find 20% unfavourable responses on an average for any product but there are so many for this product that it bothered me. Know what else bothered me? I purchased it for $170 - Folica.com was selling the same thing brand spanking new for $60!!! I checked out the website (www.corioliss.ca) and it was the shadiest thing I've ever seen - no customer service numbers, no information, no e-mail addresses for queries, no FAQ's, nothing. You can purchase their products online - but when you do, they don't have their terms and conditions listed ANYWHERE!! My alarm bells were going nuts at that point. Couple all this nonsense with the 40% bad reviews, I decided I was going to return it... only... it was a FINAL SALE!! What kind of expensive product that is fantastic and works wonders with reputable manufacturers will ever offer a FINAL SALE on a product this expensive unless they're afraid of getting it back in droves because it just doesn't do what it's supposed to?! Also, when the girl sold it to me, she swiped my card and I signed the VISA receipt and no where on it did it say that it was final... it was printed on the front receipt she stapled to the credit card receipt!
Knowing full well that the odds were against me, I went to them the next day and told them I wanted to return it because I didn't need it anymore (not because I hated their product because I figured if I was rude there was no way they were going to give me my money back and I really wanted my money back). For half an hour they sold me a hundred different lines ranging from - "you can gift it to someone else", "but it's the best one out there", "it's a final sale - my hands are tied" and then finally to "go to the website and E-MAIL them - once they send approval, we'll process a refund"... I was getting angry and nervous since they seemed adamant... then, I asked them for a customer service number or a manager that I could speak to since I preferred this to sending an unknown someone an e-mail. Guess what?! They had NONE!! No one you can contact!! They kept saying "head office is in Britain" and I kept saying "Give me their number", but they just didn't have one. That's when I said that I was getting extremely nervous about their operation and their product. When I said that, something must've made sense to her because she called a half a dozen people and then said that because I purchased it less than 24 hours ago, she will give me a refund and the reason she didn't do this earlier is because she wasn't aware of this policy!! I wonder if going at lunch-time, which is when they get their most customers, made them more anxious to get rid of me...
But, sorry for the long story, but the point of all the detail is to show you that no reputable company works this way. You are being conned. Forget the fact that there's no fixed price (their website says $299 and selling for a "discount" at $189.99... I bought it for $160 at the mall, Folica sells it for $60, there are some other vendors that sell it for $45.99... such a massive disparity in price should alone have you running for the hills), nothing feels right about this place... and for costing such a fortune, I would stay far away from them!!
I was fortunate enough to get my money back... but for those girls that are in the market for a straightener, there's plenty others out there - trust me on this one - skip this product.

I have the black one and its so amazing... I have naturally straight hair. but when i use my corioliss. I have never felt my hair so soft. its amazing. Other straighteners leave my hair feeling burned and course. works great worth the money.

It's amazing. I have wavy/frizzy hair and it takes less than 15 mintues to straighten it compared to the 20-30 mintues it took with my old Vidal Sasoon flat iron. It makes my hair soo straight and soft and shiny I love it! And I pretty much straighten every day so I totally needed a good one. I paid like $45 for my old one and $115 for my Corioliss - but it was toootally worth it. All my friends borrow my flat iron now instead of me borrowing theirs!!

When I purchased this flat iron I didn't think it worked that great. Then I noticed on the flat iron that it was a 220 watt. If you use a 220 plug it works like it is supposed to. That might be your problem with it not working correctly. Just a thought.....

I'm so surprised by all the negative reviews about this straightener. Like lots of people, I've had a Chi for the past few years, and I've loved it. But with naturally curly hair, as soon as my hair came in contact with humidity, it started to curl. The Chi kept my hair straight if I stayed indoors, but not in humid climates. When I tried the Coriollis at a mall kiosk, I thought it must be too good to be true. The lady straightened my hair, and I must say, it's never looked that good. It was soooo silky and straight. I was sold. So I got the Coriollis, and I've never looked back. I love it. I used to have to blow dry my hair straight, and then use the Chi (because the Chi wouldn't straighten my curls on its own), but with the Coriollis, I don't have to even use a blow dryer. It's seriously amazing, and I love it. It keeps my hair straight in high humidity, which has never happened before! I definitely recommend this straightener to any perfectionist who's had hair straightening issues like me.

I saw this straightner in the mall and it looked wonderful!! The lady was playing with my hair and i thought it was great!!! I bought it and got it home and it was nothing like the straightner they had at the mall.It did not work the same and for the money i put down on it you would think it would work a litlle bit better. I had a chi for three years before i bought that and i would stick with the chi!!I do not recommended this at all It is a huge scam!! The chi is wonderful stay with it!! Also the thing does not show you when it is ready and so i do not know when i can straighten it.The lady told me that it only takes six seconds to heat up no it takes like 12 minutes.Then it takes forevr to uncool!!! They also do not hold the hair in place it comes undone and there is no point in straighteneing if if it is not going to stay in place. This product is a huge SCAM!!!!

MAY BE SOME PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE THE CORIOLISS NEW FLAT IRON, BUT I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL I REACHED THE GOOD RESULTS.
YOU NEED TO PRACTICE. THE CORIOLISS IS THE BRAND NEW FLAT IRON IN THE MALLS NOW!!!
I DON'T REGRET IN GIVING TO MY MOM MY CONAIR-INFINITI STRAIGHTENER, WITH CORIOLISS IS MUCH LESS THE DAMAGE ON YOUR HAIR.
