Product Rating: 3 Fairly decent straightener, but should be in a lower price range.
Reviewer: Mel from Morristown, NJ  Tue Oct 23 2007

I bought this straightener after someone demonstrated its effects on my thick, slightly wavy hair at the mall. I was impressed by the quick heating time as well as its ability to both straighten and curl hair. However, this straightener's quality deteriorates with age. I've had it for two years now, and for the last six months or so, I've found that it does not reach as high of a temperature as it used to. Additionally, it takes longer to heat up. The straightener no longer straightens as well, leaving my hair frizzy and coarse instead of smooth and shiny. I discourage anyone from choosing the Corioliss unless they don't mind replacing their straightener every year.

It was a stretch for my money. I purchased it in the mall for about $100 (they will go as low as $80). I am happy and have been since I've brought it home. It straightens very well. I am black so my hair was used to a double heat process: a straitening and a curling. I now do them at the same time. If I want it straiter for an extended period or for a party, I straiten with it first and then bend or curl.

For those complaining about the time your hair lasts - your hair maybe a lil wild and needs a bit of product. I can use it without product but my hair last much longer with it. It stays pretty hot but I do notice with bad sockets that it does lose some temp.

I like that I can spiral with it but I'd like to have a smaller size for my sorter hair.

There is prob a better flat iron but this is a major upgrade from a hot tools or a conair!!

I bought this iron 2 yrs ago at the West Ed. Mall and it has been there for me every day since. It heats up in seconds and never losses its temp. I can get my hair bone straight or flipped at the ends or curly if I want. This iron is worth the money and as long as you take good care of it, it'll last you a long time. A friend of mine got hers at the same time but she dropped it a few times and left it on all day a few times and never wipped it down...hers lasted only a few months, but thats cause she abused it. I just take that little extra effort to take care of it and its lasted me so long. Its worth he investment:)

I recommend potential buyers to opt out of buying this HORRENDOUS hair straightener! I purchased mine at a mall, n went to return it just after 2 days only to know that they dont accept returns!!!! N now my hair straightener is just being used to get every penny of the $130 i spent on it.It broke down completely wen i travelled oversees!!PLS DO NOT WASTE MONEY and efforts on this fraudulent brand!!

Reviewer: Kris from Florida  Mon Sep 17 2007

I just borowwed my friends coriolis and its a huuuuuuuge step up to what I used before which was maxiglide (yeah sucks)! What I love about it is that it heats up REALLY fast which is awesome when your on the go. I also so love how it doesnt take very many passes to get my hair straight. And it also thins out my hair and makes it feel silky not dry or crispy. I do use a hair protectant and some anti frizz products so I guess that helps. I also love that its light. Now for the cons the cord is VERRRRRY sensitive. I was using it this morning and the cord was kinda dragging on the floor and the light would flicker on and off. So make sure the cord isn't being weighed down!! Another thing Im not too crazy about is that it didn't last too too long! I did it this morning and by the afternoon my hair was a bit poofy but still looked pretty good. Also I wish the heat would go up a little higher. But all and all its a great product for the price. But I would advise you shell out ten dollars more and just get the CHI instead. Just my opinion hope it helps!

okay well people who say this iron is bad obviously don't know how to use a flat iron. this iron is better than any other flat iron out there, and i think everyone should have a corioliss. I've had it for a year now and it works perfectly! it also comes with like a warranty. even if i don't use a serum, my hair turns out shiney! it stays straight for a very long time and doesn't damage as much as a chi would.

Beware...Do not buy anything in the Mall that they will not give you a refund...Very disappointed in this product I purchased in Broward Mall(Fort Lauderdale). Does not heat up as much as they claim. When I called them to complain they said they would only exchange for something more expensive...You can't even write to the company..

Reviewer: anonymous   Wed Sep 05 2007

bought it at the mall, guy was very convincing, showed me how to curl my hair with it... got mine home plugged it up and it didn't get near as hot as the one he used.... 2 days later when I used it really for the first time, it still didn't get hot and it pulled my hair..... i paid $90 + tax, he said it was originally $145.00 and that he was giving me a good deal.... DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT IN THE MALL!!!! I don't know about online, but I feel like I got ripped off, and this is the first straightening iron i have ever spent more than $20 on.... back to the drawing board

IT PULLS MY HAIR OUT! DON'T GET ME WRONG ITS FINE WHEN YOU FIRST GET IT BUT A FEW TIMES AFTER YOU USE IT, IT WILL TURN OFF AND THE HEAT WILL DROP IN THE MIDDLE OF STRAIGHTENING YOUR HAIR! AND THE LADDIE SAID IT COULD KEEP YOUR HAIR STRAIGHT FOR 2 DAYS BUT REALLY A COUPLE HOURS IS ALL NOT EVEN ENOUGH FOR HALF A SCHOOL DAY! BUT ANYWAYS COST ME 107$ NOT WORTH THAT MUCH MONEY DON'T BUY!

Product Rating: 5 its 100% ceramic and defenetly worth the money!!! I love it!!!

First questions what i had ask lady in the kiosk in the Arundel mills mall, what the difference in the irons from beauty store and Corioliss? Well, its a big differense. becouse all the irons from the store a not ceramic, even if they saying on the box "ceramic" its just covering ceramic plates and metall under. Corioliss is 100% ceramic. I using this iron almost a year and it works grate!!! It makes my hair very shiny and soft without damage and split ends. Its defenetly worth the money that i spend. I love this iron!!!

Product Rating: 2 Works just for the 1st month
Reviewer: Joanne from Ontario, Canada  Thu Aug 16 2007

This iron was great for the first 10 times I used it. My friend bought one at the same time and experienced the same thing. At first it was excellent but after a month or so it just didn't work as well. Just in time to miss out on any refund or exchange. My iron looks brand new and I used it gently. I would NEVER recommend this flat iron.

Product Rating: 1 THIS STRAIGHTENER SUCKS! ONLY LASTED TWO MONTHS !
Reviewer: Ashley from New Jersey  Sat Aug 11 2007

So I was entering the mall looking for a good straightener. It would be the fourth straightener I would buy in only two years ! I was stopped by the lady from a stand which happened to be selling these straighteners. Her example looked amazing and so I just had to buy it. When I got home the straightener seemed to work pretty good but definitely not as good as what the lady had demonstrated. I have really really thick curly and frizzy hair and this straightener did not do the job. So I decided to give it anther shot by using it again but this time while I was straightening my hair the straightener began to crack ! I couldn't believe it. I went to return the straightener but when I went to the mall the stand was gone! I was so shocked and disappointed. Never again.

P.S. The Hot Tools Ceramic 3 inch straightener works the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it isn't so expensive !

this is the best flat iron i've had EVER. i've made it thru the humid East Coast summer, i've walked in the rain with no problems, and it lasts for days and days.

Reviewer: Frustrated Gal w/ Frizzy Hair from SF, CA  Fri Jul 27 2007

I've had this product for almost 2 yrs. During the 1st months, it worked perfectly, like Life-altering! Got it in the mall. Don't get me wrong--it works! It straightened out my diffficult hair. Until its quality slowly started to fail I would say within 6 months. The heat does not remain constant while in use, I would have to press the + button just to bring up the temperature to 200 degrees celcius, or after working on one layer of hair, its temp would drop, so you would have to wait for a few more seconds for the heat to go up again. So all in all it took more time to finish my whole hair. In a way it got to a point wherein it's frustrating, 'coz you paid so much for it, and you just want to max out its potential, but it just malfunctions after a while. Recently it would just turn off by itself while being used. I went out of the country, and while on vacation I used a converter to make it 220V, that totally messed up my Corioliss, the handle would heat up so bad that it would burn your hand. I accidentally dropped it, and the plates cracked. Then I used it again here in the US, finally it went up in smokes! Thank God it finally broke! Now I have a justification to throw it away and get a much better quality of Flat Iron.

Now I just purchased "Sedu" online since it has the "best seller" rating. I don't mind paying more, as long as it's a good quality product, and I look at this as an investment. Hopefully this one would not fail me. I am optimistic though.

So, I was complaining to my mom about the Conair straightener I'd been using for about 5 years. I didn't realize that it was the STRAIGHTENER that was at fault for my hair ballooning and frizzing by the end of the day. Recently, I learned about the Chi straightener through one of my friends. But I was so damn expensive that I didn't want to fork out all that money. Then, I went shopping and found the Corioliss. It's AMAZING. I have very thick, curly, frizzy and coarse hair (I'm Greek). This made my hair look amazing. I'm so glad I found it. And it goes up to the same temp. as the Chi (430 degrees). I'd definitely recommend it. If you want straight hair FAST and EASY, you should consider buying this. I got mine in purple =]

Product Rating: 1 ruined my hair!
Reviewer: Jane   Wed Jul 25 2007

I bought this straightener about a year ago, of course, at the mall. I thought it was great until a few months later I started losing lots of hair. My hair became extremely dry and frizzy, and the ends were completely dead. It also pulled out my hair whenever I straightened it, and it would only stay straight for a few hours. It also doesn't get as hot as it used to, and does not heat up as fast. so basically, DO NOT BUY THIS STRAIGHTENER! it is not worth your money. try a sedu!

i bought this hair straightner about 2 years ago.. at a mall. when the man used it on my hair (the angles of hair bordering my face, which is the hardest for me to get to stay straight).. it stayed amazingly straight the whole day! i was pshyced and knew that it was something i should invest in, and i bought it a week later. The first week or so, the results were average. The second week.. i learned it didnt work quite so well on the angles of hair bordering my face and those were slowly starting to become more wavey. As time went on it began having less effect on my hair. I still have this straightner and Im looking into getting a new one. I dont even bother straightening my hair with this one anymore because it has little effect on teh straightness of my hair. As soon as i step outside my house.. my hair returns to normal (wavey). The one thing i would reccomend this straightner for.. is for bangs. I love using it on my bangs because of how small it is and easy it is to get my bangs straight.. and for some reason.. those stay relatively straight.. unlike the rest of my hair.

Product Rating: 1 DONT BUY THIS
Reviewer: Erika   Mon Jul 23 2007

This product is supposed to be one of the best in the industry, so I bought it. It DOESNT heat up. The light that indicated that its on comes on when you pick it up, it shuts off. There is nothing wrong with the cord, or the product. This is happened with every flat iron I have purchased from this company. it's a waste of money. If you like throwing your money away, go ahead and buy it. If I could give this product less than one star, i would.

Reviewer: kelsey from california  Thu Jul 19 2007

ive had this straightener for about a year and it definately does not work as well as i thought it would. when they straightened my hair in the mall it looked great and was still straight the next morning, but now my hair gets wavy and/or frizzy after just a couple hours. it works about as well as my old hot tools straightener. i suggest doing your research & investing in a straightener that is not sold at a kiosk in your local mall! i have used both the chi and sedu flat irons and both work 100x better than this one.
