I've had this straightener for four years and it's definitely been through thick and thin with me. It's lasted this whole time, still getting as hot as ever. It hasn't exploded, hasn't stopped working, hasn't failed me at all. I bought it for about 75 dollars around 2004/2005 at one of those mall stands, and even though it was pricey then, I don't regret it now. It's great. I curl and straighten with it, meaning I never use a curling iron, and I mean never. All pictures of me with curly hair are thanks to this thing. I would rate it "Best" but I haven't gotten to use any other type of straightener since I've had this one forever. It was my first and since then, my only straightener. I've been meaning to post this for a while now, but I thought I'd wait until I reached a couple more years to see if it would conk out on me. I don't work for Corioliss either. :P

My hair is naturally thick, fine, frizzy, straight at the top, then from my ears down turns into curls. I have had one chemical perm on my hair and have dyed it (red) once. This is the first straightener that has actually "worked" on my hair. I've owned a Revlon 2 in 1 iron and that was junk compared to Corioliss. The pictures speak for themselves. =)
Note: The Corioliss I used for the after picture doesn't belong to me, and that was the only time I have tried it. I cannot say how well it works for long time use. I am just showing the result I got from my very first use of it.

Okay I have VERY think wavy hair and I had been trying everything to get it to look smooth and silky, from shampoo's leave in conditioners and other flat irons. I saw this at the kiosk in the mall and the guy there convinced me to sit down for a demo. I was BLOWN away at how soft and shiny my hair came out when I was done. I thought for sure that after I got it home it probably wouldn't work the way it did for him, right? I decided to try it and it was worth EVERY penny! It worked just the way it did at the mall! I can staighten my hair in minutes now! (Anyone who tells you about the hair pulling.. yes it does.. when your trying to straighten too much hair at one time) I can even CURL my hair (It takes a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it.. WOW!) with this, and the curls come out beautiful, soft and last all day.. WITHOUT hairspray or mousse!
I've had mine over a year and it works like the day I bought it!

I bought mine at the mall and i have my hair down past my waist line and it feels good to have straight hair every once and while .and it does not burn your hair like the department store ones.
Not the best straightner you can buy.

I got my FIRST Corioliss straightner last year and it worked amazing at first. Both my mom and I uses it on a daily basis so it gets worn out. One day I needed to use it but it has some defects. So I went to the place where I got it to get a free placement. I believe it goes up to 450 or 470 degrees. Even though it worked well it left my hair the burnt or fried smell in my hair. Just last night i dropped my 2nd straightener on to carpeted floor just about 6 inches up and the plates to the straightener broke. It wasn't even very hard. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Okay so after about a month of using it, I had split ends up to the top of my head. My hairdresser told me in order to REALLY clean out the splits, I would have to SHAVE MY HEAD. Not a chance. Also the smell after is disgusting. Not only does your hair smell like cow poop the whole room will as well. No matter what the lady in the mall tells you it is all lies. And when she tells you its 200$ and then convinces you 135$ is a good deal, the retail price is $109. Dont fall for this scam.

So I've had this straightener for about two years and at first it worked really good but my hair is really curly, thick and frizzy and now it takes me like an hour to an hour and a half to straighten my hair and it doesnt even stay! not to mention my hair is only shoulder length!!!!!! well im going to buy the chi soon so lets hope that workss

I thought my jilbere tourmaline flat iron was good, but after trying my new corioliss flat iron, I definetely think u get what u pay for, it straightens my hair in no time, and it leaves it feeling so soft and shiny, I could tell the difference right away. I dont even nedd to use gloss drops since it leaves my hair shiny and no burnt smell on the hair. I bought it at the mall and they had an old chi and its just metal covered with ceramic, believe me, I saw it, so I suggest u try this one. I have very curly coarse frizzy hair, and I dont even need to use a hair dryer when I use my corioliss. Be sure to use the right corioliss for your type of hair, the right one for me is this black one, I wish I had taken pics, but I assure u it worked beautifully. I read reviews about peop;e saying the plates fell and etc... but how you let your beloved flat iron fall into the floor, every woman should be carefull with their hair tools! they are the mmorning saviors LOL

I received my straighter about 4 yrs ago for Christmas, and it still works good as new. It takes no time for it to heat up, and it doesn't leave a burnt smell in my hair, and it never has damaged my hair. My sister, who is a licensed cosmetologist, says its the best product out there, she is the one that actually got it for me. I love this product, my friends who i let use it loves it, and i would recommend people to get it.

Personally I love thise straitner =] I have had it for four years and it still works great on my hair... I have thick curly hair and this straitner actually does a good job at keeping it strait. Of course when it is humid outside it will poof up and get curls back in it but when you use the serum it comes with it actually just stays perfect =)

Worked great for two years then it started popping and now it doesn't work. Figures after the product warranty had expired. Not worth the price for it's lifespan. I think I'll go to WalMart next time and get the one made in Indonesia for $20.

i have had this straightener for a while and it hardly heats up anymore not to mention your hair isnt exactly straight and 10 minutes outside and it all poofs up. im getting a sedu now worth the money

This flat irons works wonders on my 4a/4b hair....all african americans please buy this it is worth it , one year warranty, just keep it up and keep cleaning after every use because mine is kinda burnt...but its okay...but i recommend people to use this

I bought this straightener from a person selling it in the mall. i have very thick hair so it does a great job straightening it. I have now had it for about a year and it smells awful and makes my hair smell equally awful. i use product in my hair to keep it from burning too much which must have caused the smell. I am planning on getting a CHI very soon because this just smells awful.

i have thick, spring tight curls, african american hair.. it worked DECENT the 1st 6 months i had it but even then my hair was frizzy later on in the day. Now, Ive had it for a little over a year now and now my hair is very dry and damaged because i had to use it EVERY DAY just to get it to stay straight. it doesnt even straighten good anymore..for me to get it as straighten as good as it used to..it takes 4x longer. ugh! terrible! not worth what it costs!

i bought this straitener after using my sisters cortex straitener hers was so amazing it did such a great job that i wanted one of my own, only problem was, i did not know where a cortex store was seeing how she bought hers in North Carolina AND where from Chicago. so i came across the corioliss in the mall they seemed to have talked me into it so i bought it, it "ABSOLUTLY SUCKS'!!!! my hair was damaged after the secound time i used it. also, my hairstyle only lasted for bout 20 min and fell flat! I hate it and would not recomend this product to anyone!!!!

I bought this straightener like...5 or 4 years ago and it's lasted for a mega long time,though I will admit,it did damage my hair A LOT @_@.
Though I didn't mind it to much the thing that did bother me was the nasty smell or burnt hair it would leave me sometimes. I also dropped it on the bathroom not that long ago and it finally cracked,though it still works,I think it was a sign to go ahead and buy a new one lol.
This thing cost me $100 at the mall,the lady was trying to sell it to me for $200 but felt bad for me when I told her all I had was $100,so it was for a good cost I suppose since it lasted me for 4-5 years.
I recently won a bidding for the SEDU straightener,the high rated one on here,so we'll see how that one works out.
oh,also,I don't recommend this one at all.

I bought myself a Corioliss Classic Pro thinking it would do wonders for my hair BIG MISTAKE! I feel like I was duped and that I fell for a scam. After using the straightener less than 7 times my hair was badly damaged. The ends were fried and the hair shaft was brittle and extremely dry. I could see the straightener being a problem if the instructions weren't followed. But my hair was in rough shape, and I followed the instruction to a T. DO NOT BUY.

I bought this flat iron back in 2005 and since then have used it very sparingly for many of the reasons the other users listed. It definitely does leave a burnt smell for your hair and its very harsh on your hair as well. It's suppose to be completely ceramic, but that has to be false, because I have a cermaic curling iron and have had no problems with it. I also noticed when I used this flat iron that I experienced a lot of hair shedding as well. Don't be fooled by the hype, look for another brand.

I bought this iron because my Solia iron was damaged when they threw my bag at an airport. I needed to buy something fast because I was visiting someone and didn't want my hair to be a mess and this is all I found at the mall there, so I settled. At first it was great! I have thick curly hair and it did a beautiful job but a few months later the plates cracked and eventually pieced off. Most of the plate is still there so it can still be used but it should not be doing this. I will definitely go back to my Solia iron! That was the BEST IRON EVER!!!! Hands Down!
