i bought this straightener thinking it might be a bit better than my old conair one which costed 40 bucks and i bought this for 60 bucks and i think the 40 dollar one still worked better. after going through 4 crappy conair straighteners, i stopped buying them and i bought a corioliss straightener which did wonders for my hair like how my hair is actually super straight! AND its very silky and healthy not frizzy anymore. oh and i use it with CHI silk infusion. i think theyre both wonderful products.
its okay.

i have EXTREMELY poofy, frizzy, wavy , thick hair and it takes me 30 minutes to straighten it typically. and at first i thought that this flat iron was amazing, but then it started pulling and tearing my hair. it also made my ends become more fried and fine. AND MY ENDS ARE NOW COMPLETELY DEAD and i have split ends even though i don't straighten my hair more than twice a week and use plenty of protectant. it is bulky too. and a few weeks ago i tried my friends global beauty 1 inch chi and i absolutely fell in love and i have decided to dump this straightener and replace it with a chi!:) the infiniti does get pretty hot though, but not as hot as i would like, the heat setting are nice but the only one hot enough for my hair is the highest on, 395, and honestly thats still not hot enough. the plates are ceramic too, which is a real downer. also after you turn it off it takes literally HOURS for it to cool of all the way. so i feel uncomfortable leaving my house when its still hot! i wouldn't really suggest this iron, but i guess its an okay one for the price but there are definitely better ones out there!
its okay.

Gives you major split ends!

I've had this iron for about a year and a half. My hair is naturally pretty straight, so I just needed something that would get rid of minor waves or bed head. After a few months of using this iron, I noticed that I had ALOT of split ends even though I am really particular about protecting my hair from heat damage. To get rid of them I got a haircut last week, and within a week the iron started burning my ends again!
Bottom line, if you want a cheap straightener and dont care about how healthy your hair looks this works, but I would suggest just investing in a higher quality brand.
Horrible Flat Iron!!!

This flat iron never gets my hair completely straight. I have thick, curly african american hair that isn't too coarse but it never gets it straight. I use the highest setting and get minimal results. However, for the $25 bucks I spent for it, it makes my hair management, but no so I can wear it down.
Terrible.

Naturally, I have extremely curly hair. It's not thick or anything, I just have a whole lot of it. I used the 2" version of this flat iron about 2 years ago and all I can remember is it flat out not working. I went over the same section 8 or 9 times before it even showed the slightest amount of improvement. I ended up giving it to my aunt who has thin, wavy hair. I don't know if it worked well on her or not.
only works with fine and mostly straight hair!!

this straightener only works for people with fine and mostly straight hair. a friend of mine has that kind of hair and it works good on her hair. my hair is very thick and very curly and it didnt get hot enough. my hair also kept getting caught in it. i also had to go over the same strand of hair many times to get one piece straight.
i hate it now. -african american hair

Breaks, burns, and pulls, but does a semi-decent job

My hair is actually pretty straight but it gets horrible crimps when I sleep on it wrong. I just wanted an inexpensive iron that would straighten out any kinks, since my hair is straight to begin with. This tugs my hair and it hurts!! I take good care of my hair but whenever I used this, my ends would feel brittle and dry, even with heat protectant. Sometimes, it wouldn't even straighted out the smallest kink! Also, when I want to curl my hair with this, my hair gets stuck in the little crease at the top between the metal covering and the plastic tip. It burns my hands! But since an iron is not a necessity for my life, I guess it's ok. But I'm about to by a Hai. I would rather spend more money if it mean quality.
Terrible. Breaks and Burns.

I bought this straightener because I really needed to upgrade from my CVS iron. It was relatively cheap and it looked like it would be decent. WRONG. Before I even turned it on, I tested it on a peice of my hair, and immediatly it begain pulling on my hair and breaking the ends of. So I thought "okay, maybe I'm using too much pressure" So I tried again as gently as I could, but again, It broke of the ends of my hair. I looked at the iron again to see what was wrong. It seemed as though the plates were not alligned correctly, and the cause of the pulling was that the plates were pinching my hair. I then took the straightener apart (It took about an hour) and re-alligned the plates. I tried it out on my hair again and it seemed fine. I turned it on, and immediatly, the straightener gave of a burning odor, which made my hair smell like it was burnt. And after about 4 more uses, the plates were pinching my hair again.
Perhaps the straightener I got had some sort of defect or was assembled incorrectly.Though when I fixed the plates, it worked great, but the burning smell was a HUGE turn-off.
I wouldent reccomend this product to anyone. Its really lame. I prefer my CVS iron over this.

I have tried at least 10 other irons costing up to $250 - this is my favorite so far. It has lasted the longest too. For those whining about fried hair - TURN THE TEMP DOWN! - I find that this iron makes quick work of my naturally curly hair and it says straight all day (so nice). The price is a dream too. I saw on another site that this was discontinued - maybe I will buy another, I like it that much!

I live in Idaho, where we have every single season there is. and this product always pulled through for me. I got it over a year and a half ago and it still works. i don't know what people are talking about it being junk. i've dropped it, wrapped it's cord around itself everything and it's still going strong. it straightens my hair easily, and makes it shiny. i use T3 boost and a heat protector but it still fries the ends a little bit. i mean it's not awful, just some split ends. other than that this flat iron is great. it is especially great considering how cheap i is compared to other ones. i'd recommend this flat iron to anyone.
Lasts.

I have had this straightener for about 2 years and it works fantasticly. I have boughten straighteners that cost around 150-200 dollars and they dont compare to this one. Yes, conair is a cheap brand but its a bargin. I straighten my hair almost everyday and it hasnt fried my hair at all and its shinny. I think its a deal.
Pretty Good!

I've only one other straightener from vasson or something like that... and I'de have to say that this straightener works pretty well. It straightens my hair in 30 mins. but the only thing i don't like about it is that you can't straighten your hair on gym days becuase your hair frizzes when you begin to run or something.
Alright..

i guess i wasn't expecting much of a result anyway, seeing as i bought it at a low price.
the problem with it is, it's a low price for a reason.
it leaves my hair sort of frizzy. definitely not the sleek result i wanted. & the high heat doesn't exactly prevent damage either. but i have to admit, it does straighten my hair really fast.
basic summary: if you've only got a couple twenties on you, it'll probably do. but honestly, i'd rather shell out. PS. CHI'S ARE AWESOME :)

I used this iron once on my hair and it started smelling burnt and ruined it. If you want a great iron try one of the CHIs. It's more expensive, but it's totally worth the money.
