The ceramic curling irons are very smooth and shorter hair, say about 6 inches long, can slip right out if you don't use something like a light hair spray on each curl before you use the iron. This way it has something to grab onto. I have been using this practice with older curling irons for years but the spray would build up on the barrel and I was always cleaning it off. Traditional curling irons would never stay hot enough and I had to use two of them alternatly and keep one under a wash cloth to keep it hot. This new ceramic curling iron is just the best and I have continued to use a little spray on each curl. It doesn't build up and today my hair has never looked better! The results are predictable — my hair is thicker —my curls are soft and I am able to comb it with my fingers and the curl stays and stays.
