It works great. No better or worse than the Wigo brand one I had for a year...except that it was cheaper. Hopefully it lasts longer than the other one did.

Product Rating: 2 Curly again?!!...
Reviewer: Vanessa (12 yrs) from San Antonio, Texas  Sat Nov 06 2004

This straightener worked really great on my hair. It straightened my hair really great, but when I go to school I have to wait outside of the school until they call us in and being outside in the humid made my hair curly, again! I have long hair that's mixed with curly, wavy, and very coarse. I absolutely hated it! All of my friends straighten their hair too, but they use CHI, I've heard and seen GREAT things about that straightener. When I go to my aunt's salon, she always offers to straighten my hair with a CHI, and it works like a miracle on my hair, I love CHI! I had this Ceramic Tools straightener for about two years and just about a month ago, it refused to heat up! I panicked because I really depended on this straightner for my crazy hair, everyday! Incase you didn't know I'm only 12 years old and Im turning 13 on November 26, in 20 days. My mom is going to buy me a CHI for my birthday, a five star straightener, that works miracles on about everybody's hair! I'm really great at doing my own hair every morning, but ever since my hair straightener broke, I've been wearing my hair up, EVERYDAY! And I hate it because I loved my hair straight and down, but then this straightener wasn't the best, because my hair would ALWAYS get curly in the humid weather. Now that it is the fall and the weather is not as humid, I have no straightner, it sucks. So, I really suggest that if your hair goes crazy in the humid weather, DON'T BUY THIS STRAIGHTENER! Go buy a CHI, it's really worth the money! So do the right thing, and get a CHI! Creamic Tools, U SUCK!

Product Rating: 2 dont bother
Reviewer: ****   Mon Nov 01 2004

i just wrote a very long review on it a little while ago and said might as well get it and if doesnt work just make sure you keep the papers for the warranty. just dont bother. dont spend your money on something thats gonna cause you problems. it works o.k. but ive seen better. i just purchased the solia and im very happy with it. even though its double the money its worth it. it had really good reviews. not one said theirs broke...at least i dont remember one saying theirs did. it also works a lot better. even though the ceramic tools supposedly gets up to the same temp. as the solia it doesnt do as nearly as good of a job. also the chi is supposed to have a lower temp then cermaic tools and it also does a better job then this one. i was thinking about the chi but i heard a lot of reviews on it and how it broke for a lot of ppl. just save your time and get a different straightener ( i recommend the solia ) even though it may cost more. also for any straightener remember to use something to protect your hair from the straightener. it will make your hair look a lot healthier and cost you less damage.

Product Rating: 2 Ceramic 24mm flat iron
Reviewer: Leah   Fri Oct 22 2004

I only received this flat iron today, 10/21, but noticed after just one use that it does not seem to get hot enough. I will give it another day or two but if it does not heat better I will return it. As mentioned in other reviews, it does give off an odor while heating. So far I'm not impressed. It just needs more heat to take the frizzies out.

Product Rating: 3 good for the money
Reviewer: *****   Sun Oct 17 2004

When i first got this straightener i was really happy with it. It does a ton better then those conair or revlon ones. I have the wavy, frizzy, and the thickest hair ever. its huge! ppl complain about their hair being thick but its NOTHING compared to mine. all the other straighteners i have tryed never worked....they just left my hair looking frizzier then ever. My friend has the CHI but she needed another straightener because she was going on a trip and she didnt want to bring that one (she didnt want to risk breaking it). Her mom bought her this one and told me that it worked really well for the money and that i should try this one since it was a lot cheaper then the CHI. When i first got it i was really impressed because it actually worked unliked all the other straighteners. Unfortuantly it does have its downfalls....It smells really bad. My room is on the second floor and my mom complains about smelling it from the first floor. Your hair looks good after your done straightening it but it doesnt last all that long. By the end of the day its still straight but mine gets a little poofy and a little wavy. By the end of the day i usuallly put it up because i dont feel like re-straightening it. Also mine died in about 6 months. One day i went to go use it but it wouldnt work. The red light went on but it didnt heat up. I was really dissappointed cuz i didnt even use it that much. At the time i had really long hair and i didnt feel like taking the time to straighten it . I only used it a couple times a month on me and mayb once a week on my friends hair cuz she liked it a lot. Her hair is also thick but it is not wavy like mine. It worked really well on her hair and it lasted (but thats probablly cuz her hair is already naturally straight). But besides for that i barely used it. Unfortuantly for me the day that it stopped working was the day i just got my hair cut. I got it cut short (sorta like kelly clarksons in her video 'Low') and i needed it straight or else it would loook really bad. Lucky for me my sisters have the same straightener. They have had theirs about the same amount of time as me and they have used theirs a lot more. Theirs are still working but one of my sisters is starting to loose heat. Its not nearly as hott as it used to be so i think it is starting to die slowly. Im hesitant to buy another one. I think i might buy a CHI this time. I tryed my friends and it worked really well on my hair. It works better then this one....but i sorta expect that since its a lot more exspensive then this one also. but theCHI also has its downfalls too.....i heard that one doesnt last very long. If you buy this one or the CHI make sure you keep the warranty papers and everything just incase yours breaks. Also another problem with the straightener is that if you put any product on your hair before you straighten it evaporates and leaves this black junk on the plates. Overall its a good straightener for the price and it gets the job done. If you keep your warranty papers then you should be fine and dont worry about it breaking cuz you can always just get another one free. Just make sure your warranty is for at least a year.

Product Rating: 3 Works for a while...
Reviewer: Brandi from Oregon  Fri Oct 08 2004

I bought this straightener about a year ago and after a while the plates started to get dark, but it still worked. I have VERY thick brown frizzy hair and I depended on this straightner every morning. About 2 weeks ago, it just stopped heating up. So I mean it worked for about a year, but I wouldnt expect it to work any longer than that. Also, it heats up really fast!

Product Rating: 3 It works good....but
Reviewer: Taren from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada  Tue Oct 05 2004

I bought this flat not even a year ago, I have had to replace it twice. It turned on but it didn't heat up, really made me mad because I have thick curly hair and I depend a lot on this device. Also, it can't be replaced after two years, so I'm going to be out of a straightener and money if it decides not ro work again after two years. Not very impressed.

This is an ok product if you have thin or straight hair. I would not recomend it if you have thick, curly, poufy hair

Reviewer: catharine from harleysville, PA  Sun Aug 01 2004

it worked at first but then about a month later it just stopped straightening for me! it was the worst one ive ever used

Product Rating: 3 Dont buy it!
Reviewer: Steph   Thu Jul 29 2004

Okay...it worked good at first but my hair was pretty puffy and frizzy. Then after a month, i would have to hit it on the counter to get it to work. Now it wont even heat up. Dont buy it in the first place.

Product Rating: 1 ITZ AWFUL
Reviewer: Amanda   Mon Jul 26 2004

I know i already wrote a message but this is just dumb. I got this 1 month ago & it needs 10 minutes to heat between layers. The cord is falling out and there's black stuff on the edges of the plates. It also takes out a lot of strands of my hair. I'll look @ my leg and there's my hair all over it. I'm gonna buy a chi. *people, don't buy this straightener*

Reviewer: Amanda   Thu Jul 08 2004

It still makes my hair frizz a little, i've used it 3 times! It makes my hair stiff, and i use 2 different products! It also needs time to reheat, like 5 minutes.

I have thick, blonde, wavy hair and I had always used a Conair flat iron that i bought from Walmart and it worked fine but it was never long lasting...about one hour after i'd use it i'd notice my waves coming back. I drove to my salon without to see if they had better ones and they had a "TRY IT" Stand. It had curling irons, flat irons, and all sorts of stuff. So I had them straighten my hair with this iron. I was amazed! I had never gotten such results! I bought one immediatly and i now get lasting results with a beautiful finish!

I am quite happy with this product. I have shoulder length black wavy hair that get frizzy and semi-coarse as soon as summer hits but this managed to be a lifesaver when it comes to flattening my hair. I love it!!.

It will save me a lot of visits to the hair salon for blowouts ( I was going once a month to get it styled straight for a special evening/party occasion) now, I will save moeny by not going to the salon for just that.

Product Rating: 3 It's great... but
Reviewer: Katerine from Montreal, Canada  Sun May 02 2004

My hair is not that frizzy, but it gets really ugly when there's humidity. So each time I was going clubbin, I ended up having big curly hair at the end of the night. My mom bought me this iron. It works well... as long as you stay out of humidity! I still get the curly hair when at the end of the nights, but my hair is way less damaged. It's fine, but not the professionnal type of iron I wanted. And now it's broken. Big deal.

Product Rating: 5 Awesome product
Reviewer: Rachel   Thu Mar 18 2004

I actually used my friend's and it took all the frizz out of my hair. My hair is REALLLY frizzy and it took care of it all. It is also really easy to travel with.
