I wouldn't recommend this flat iron to anyone. I would have rather paid more for something that actually worked well
A review for girls with "kinky" hair

I'm black, and I have shoulder length, thick, natural hair. My hair is curly/kinky/nappy -- whatever you want to call it. The curls are miniscule, so it is actually impossible to blow dry it straight. I bought this iron and it straightened by hair in less than 40 minutes! It has stayed straight all week, as if I had a chemical relaxer. I don't know how long it lasts, but the fact that it works is really saying something. I was pretty speechless. Now, I don't wear my hair stick straight, I usually wear rollers at night to create different styles. But now I have the option of having straight hair without paying to have it done at the salon (otherwise, that would be $50 each week) or damaging my hair with chemicals. This thing works.
Not Good

This straightener is very cheaply made. The ceramic plates are not big enough. It pulled my hair out on a little piece behind the plates. This straightner is NOT good.

I had this striaghtener for about a year but around 6 months the ceramic plates started to turn brown like they were competely fried. My hair would get frizzy and wavy throughout the day and i would have to restraighten it about halfway through the day. BUT THE ABSOLUTE WORSE, was the smell of burnt hair in the morning. To this day i get nautious when I smell it. For the money, eh, I guess its okay.

This straightening iron is great. It heats up fast and straightens very well. It's also very easy to use because of the smaller size ceramic plates.
Thank you!
DOESN`T HELP STOP FRIZZY HAIR

when i first got this i was really pleased. it straightned my hair real great! but then a couple of months later, it started wearing off, it didnt get as hot as it used to and it gave off a burning smell. either way, i still used it but then it really PULLS YOUR HAIR OUT!! my hair kept getting caught in the cracks and while i straightnend it, hair gets ripped off. And PLUS at the time you straighten your hair it seems reall straight but as soon as you go outside and that wind or humidity starts to come through, your hair gets reall FRIZZY!! i was very displeased of course, now i know not to buy CONAIR products, its cheap. it breaks and doesnt give u a natural look. Try looking for a better flat iron even at a high price. it pays off for a long time.

I think this is a very good flat iron for the price. I find it heats up quickly and does an excellent job straightening my hair. I have had many comments from coworkers about how nice my hair looks. I would recommend this flat iron for someone who has wavy hair but not really tight curls. It does prevent static in my hair and makes my hair look smooth and shiny.
perfect but too small

I GOT THIS PRODUST IN 3 DAYS FLAT (Congrats folica), UNLIKE MY HAIR, THIS PRODUCT IS GOOD FOR MY HAIR AS IT IS CURLY , FRIZZY AND LONG BUT IT'S A SHAME THAT THEY HAVEN'T MADE ONE THAT IS LARGER THAN 24MM OTHERWISE I'D SAY THAT IT WAS PERFECT CAUSE MY HAIR STILL HAD SOME WAVES. THE HEAT SETTINS WERE JUST RIGHT AND I CAN CARRY IT TO MY FRIENDS HOUSE WHEN I NEED TO TOUCH UP THE END BEFORE I GO OUT.
TO ALL EURPOPEAN BUYERS I WOULD SUGGEST USING THE BULKY ADAPTERS AND NOT THE TRAVEL SIZE ONE CAUSE MY FRIEND TRIED THE TRAVEL ON AND IT BLEW AFTER 20 MINUTES
Sooner or Later...

I have had this straightener for a bit over a year now. When I first got it, I thought it was great. After about 8 months the coating started to wear off. In the end, it ruins your hair. Your ends always look split, and your hair breaks very easily. It would be best to invest in a model such as CHI. Alot of my friends have CHI's and they say it takes them less then 30min to straighten there hair, while with this straightener it took me over an hour.

I bought this one sometime in June, by Sept the coating had worn off substantially. Shortly after that in Oct 04 it just died. It also damaged my hair tremendously, dried it and burned it. I thought it was ceramic but it was just a coating. don't waste your money>
Great.

This straightener works wonders. Takes away all frizz, doesn't dry your hair, just overall great. The only thing I didn't like was the smell it gives off, it smells like somethings burning. But besides for that its the best one I've ever had, and I've gone through many. It heats up extremely fast and gets extremely hott too.
I haven't had it for a long time so I don't know about the durability of it but as of right now I'm extremely pleased.
not for difficult hair

Well I bought the product, ran up to try it, but ended up struggling with my hair for an hour even on the highest setting. It does heat up pretty fast, but well most straighteners do anyway. And from what I've heard, it doesn't have a very long life. Oh and it's true, the smell is annoying. I'd say spend a little more money and get something better...I myself returned the Ceramics Tools the very next day (but I also have very difficult hair...)
Very Good Ceramic Coated Iron

I was disappointed to learn after making my purchase that this was not a true ceramic iron but a ceramic coated one. I don't like to be mislead and I think the product description is a bit misleading. Having said that, THIS IRON ROCKS. Considering it is half the price of true ceramic iron, I think it does a really good job. I plan to get a true ceramic iron but so far I have had nothing but compliments on my hair. It is straight to the root, shiny and soft. Someone said I had better hair than Oprah -- whose hair is always perfect! My hair stays straight without a lot of bother. The barrel is small enough that I can flip my ends up or down. I only use the curling iron if I want a lot of curl. My sister has long extremely curly hair. Straightening it with a curling iron or blow dryer was nearly impossible. Her iron gets her hair straight in no time flat. I mean it really does a good job. If true ceramic irons are even better I will be excited to get one but in the mean time this more than good enough.
Best holiday gift just in time!

I bought this hair straightener for my daughter for the holidays...let's just say it was just in time and worth every cent! Not only does she use it (and she is 12 years old) but so does her twin sister (who has a totally different hair texture) and me! It is the best product to deliver excellent professional results at a very reasonable price!! The only one I can compare it to is the Chi that our hairdresser Erica uses (price $90.00 or more), and let's just say it is perfect for those of us that need to use it at home and not hundreds of times a week Buy it! You will be so happy that you did!

I have naturally straight hair and I don't like fixing it at all. But this straightener is so easy to use that I just want to fix my hair it is also quick. I love the texture of my hair after I run the straightener through. And if I want to I can also style my hair to be curly with the same device. This product is a two in one. And it is so cheap I love it!!!

Well, this is the first Ceramic Iron that I've used, so I have nothing to compare it to. I can say however, that it works quite well. It leaves my hair feeling soft and healthy after I use it, unlike a regular metal iron, which feels all burnt and unhealthy afterwards. It isn't 100% for keeping your hair straight in humid weather, but my hair doesn't look "as bad" after being outside in humid weather when using this iron than my old metal one; Just a few jagged lines in my hair. I recommend using firm-holding hairspray before using the iron. Then after each pass with the iron, run a comb through the hair to loosen it up. So far, I'm a happy customer using this combination. Good for the price. Don't wrap the cord around the iron, it will likely ruin the product. I haven't wrapped the cord around at all, been keeping it in good condition, and so far no problems--Had it for about 1 month now.

I bought this iron almost 2 years ago before I discovered Salon quality ceramic irons such as HAI. Don't waste your money on this. For another $40 you can get a real hair straightener such as HAI or CHI. It doesn't get really hot and really does not straighten like the other ceramic models. The coating on mine started to come off also. It is not worth the money.

I bought the ceramic tool flat iron about 6 months ago and it has done wonders for my hair. I have really thick curly hair and it makes my hair smooth and straight fast. I wantd to buy a chi but it was too expensive so i bought this and for something that is cheaper it really works!

I live in Louisiana where its atleast 80-90% humidity everyday... so I dont expect miracles from flat irons or anything. This thing is a waste of money though, the ceramic wears off and the plates start to tear your hair, it needs a lot of time to heat back up while you are using it. It doesnt last very long so for the price of having to buy 2 of these things in a year you can find a CHI on ebay that will be way worth your money, work better, and last longer.
