I got this from my hairstylist. She gave it to me because I didn't have one. It worked well and efficiantly for 2 years(but I must warn you the paint chips off)then the darn thing burned out. But even though I had it for two years it still didn't give me the results I was looking for. I wouldn't reccomend it for people who's hair is naturally thick, wavy, and frizzy. Spend a little more mulah for a better one.

i have had mine for about 2 years and for the last year and 6 months i hated it.. it does not get my hair straight anymore. it worked really well for the first couple of months.. i bought it for almost $100 in a salon.. and i wish i wouldnt have. i have really frizzy, curly hair, and it doesnt straighten or get rid of frizz... its aweful

I got this straightner with no big hopes. My hair is thick, curly, and frizzy plus I have alot of it. When my old straightner broke i used this one to hold me over. I ended up using it for 6 months, until it broke. It did a pretty good job for the price.

I've had this flat iron for over 3 years and it still works...like the new. It's not the best, but you get alot of bang for your buck. Small price, very good results. If you want an effective flat iron without spending alot of money, try this one. It really works. I keep forgetting I only spent $40 on it, your definitely get great results w/ this one. Of coures, as w/ most flat irons, it works better when you use products. My favorite is Straight Works by Paul Mitchell.

Product Rating: 2 Only if you have to...

I own a a Ceramic Tools flat iron and I've had it for about a year now. I have to say, when I first got it, I loved it. Just about all my friends flat iron their hair. Their hair looked glossy and never frizzed. Mine looked broken, dull, and before I could see my friends, I would have to put my hair in a pony tail. The Cermaic Tools flat iron is not worth your time. I still used mine when I have to. I suggest you only get it if you have to.

Product Rating: 1 HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I'm gonna say y'all is that this lil thang sucks!!!! First it's toooooo small, second it takes me 2 AND A HALF HOURS to straighten my hair w/ this cuz my hair's naturally thick, frizzy and wavy/curly and it's hard to straighten cuz when i'm done I get broken, dull, frizzy hair, and third I NEVER got any good results from this. This lil thang was my first flat iron and it's gonna b my last!!!

Product Rating: 4 I loved mine! For 40 bucks give it a try!
Reviewer: LaNae from Georgia  Tue Mar 14 2006

My friend gave me this iron because it wasn’t her favorite. And I’m glad she did! Before I wouldn’t have bought such a small iron (1”), I have fairly long hair and thought that a smaller iron would take longer. Well my iron gave out a couple of weeks after she gave me this one so I was forced to try it. I absolutely loved it! It gets very hot (completely adjustable), it does NOT pull my hair out and it gets very close to the scalp so you can get the roots easily. I would have given it 5 stars but it just stopped working. I will say, over a year’s time I used it pretty often. And I use it at the hottest setting. I also noticed the next iron I bought (WIGO which I HATE) made my hair VERY static, lots of flyaways! And it pulled my hair! OUCH! The Ceramic Tools didn’t.

I was actually doing a search on google for this iron when I found this site. I am really loving this site and thankful for all the reviews, I feel I am more informed. I hate that this iron is getting such horrible reviews when I loved it so much. I am terrified of spending $100+ on an iron and having it last only 6 months. I’ve read the reviews, it happens! Believe me it won’t hurt my feelings as much if I spend $40 and it only lasts 6 months. So after reading the Chi, Solia, Sedu, and Hai reviews I think I am going to replace my Ceramic Tools with a Ceramic Tools. If you use the right products I think you’ll get the shiny hair and as long as it doesn’t pull my hair out (which this one doesn’t) I’m happy.

TRICKS
I have just below shoulder length spiral curly hair that is medium in thickness. My hair is pretty dry so my secret weapon is a pea sized amount of Vitapoint (Sally Beauty Supply) in the lower half of my hair when its damp and I rub that in the ends and comb it through. Then I put in my straightening balm (usually Joico) and then a silicone product (biosilk or frizz eaze). And then I start blow-drying. These are my three steps and I have been straightening my hair for 16 years. If you want to be nicer to your hair (not so much blow drying) roll damp hair in large plastic, “Velcro” rollers (they are not suppose to need bobby pins but use the bobby pins anyways) and sleep on them overnight. Be sure to roll in small thin sections otherwise it won’t dry well. I did that for years and there was almost no damage to my hair and I almost never get my hair trimmed!

Product Rating: 3 Average Flat Iron

I have had this flat iron for over 2 years. I could not afford to buy a really nice flat iron, so I settled on this one. At first it worked well, but since then, my hair has gotten more curly and frizzy. Now, I really have to work to get my frizz free. I have to go over the hair a few times before it is frizz free. If you can afford a nicer iron, then I would suggest that, it would be worth the investment. However, if you cannot afford an expensive one, I think it was worth the money. It is much better than the conair or other cheap straighteners at the drug store.

I bought one for myself and loved it so much that I decided to buy one for my Mom as well and she loves it too :)

Product Rating: 3 you get what you pay for
Reviewer: Colby from Louisiana  Sun Jan 15 2006

This, I guess, is an average straightener. It heats up fast, but uses more electricity than the more expensive straighteners and those heat up in the same amount of time. The results are average also. It doesn't give you a super shine, but it doesn't make your hair look fried. But it doesn't make it feel that silky. After you use it a lot, it starts to make your hair feel rough.

I bought this item nearly 3 years ago, and loved it! It worked on my thin curly hair, my roommate's extremely thick wavy hair, and my other roomate's coarse/curly hair. Less than 1 year later it was dead...and I was told it was dicontinued. Apparently I was misinformed. It's a temporary miracle, and not worth the money.

My hair is CURLY and boy is straightens it, however it doesen't matter how much heat protection I put on my hair, it has been braking like crazy. I have to trim my hair every 3-4 weeks! I only use the flat iron once a week too!!! Does the Chee and the other better brands help with the damage control????

Product Rating: 1 terrible
Reviewer: pamela from houston tx  Mon Dec 12 2005

I bought this ceramic tools pro flat iron and it was terrible. It worked for like 10 uses and went dead on me. I bought another one since the girl at Sally Beauty Supply told me it was probably just a bad one, so I got another one. Stupid me. It died after one week. It is a piece of crap. Do not waste your money.

Reviewer: Anonymous from Austin, Texas  Fri Dec 09 2005

I was relatively happy with this product and was dismayed that it stopped working within 3 months of purchase. I thought maybe I did something to cause it but now based on the other postings it appears to be a built-in defect. I would not recommend this product which is a shame because all in all it seemed to be a good value (when it worked).

I bought this straightener 2 years ago.It worked until this year.I used to love it, now i hate it! The plates became brown, and it started not to work on my hair. I have thick, curly/wavyish hair. If i straighten my hair it is very thick and sometimes frizzy. DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A VERY GOOD STRAIGHTENER!!!!

Product Rating: 5 i love ceramic tools
Reviewer: ashley from manchester, ct  Thu Nov 10 2005

This straigher is really great. Ive had one for about 2 years and it is used every day- i just recently replaced it becuase the plates were turning brown because it can go up to such a high heat setting-which i always used. Its really light weight, and can get close to your roots so your hair doesnt have clamp marks. ITs also a great price!

Product Rating: 3 for a flat iron...
Reviewer: Jenna A, from Redmond, Virginia  Fri Nov 04 2005

this is a pretty good one. it was the first one i bought..about a year ago and it's still working today! it makes my hair so it's not frizzy. but i recommend this one to only people with shortish-mediumish hair that isn't that curly to begin with.

Product Rating: 2 not great
Reviewer: Stephanie from Hopewell Va  Fri Nov 04 2005

At first it worked fine, but now it randomly shuts off. Plus I don't think it's hot enough even on the highest setting. I'm gonna try something else.
