this was my first (may have been 2") iron i got for a gift. it's probably almost 2 yrs old. it was great at first, my hair got straight and really shiny. but i noticed that i couldn't use it every day because it didn't straighten my hair as well as it had done the first time. it might have gotten my hair dry and brittle (it actually steamed my hair, but my hair was alright) it was fine, though, coz my hair was pretty thick and it takes me too long to straighten (i really wanted it super straight, no stray kinks) but now it doesn't do it anymore even if i just ironed my hair once a while when i feel like it. i have yet to try sedu or chi.. it's really expensive though. so now i just let my hair as it wishes to be coz whatever, it just is a big hassle. btw, the pic was taken probably summer2007 when i ironed my hair to see how long it already was. it looks ok, but the back looks thick and easily tangles.
IT' S EXCELLENT!

I HAVE TRIED ALOT OF STRAIGHTENERS BUT AFTER USING THE ALEXIS PRO MY HAIR WAS STRAIGHTER AND NOT FRIZZY AT ALL. I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO USE ANY KIND OF PRODUCT TO PUT IN MY HAIR BEFORE I USED THE STRAIGHTENER. I HAVE EVEN TAKEN A SHOWER AND THE MOISTURE DIDN'T EVEN MAKE MY HAIR FRIZZY. IT'S GREAT!!!

It works great on my coarse, dry hair. For the price I think this is a great little light weight flat iron, perfect for travel. There are better, but I have definitely got my money's worth.
worth the price

I have used this flat iron in my cosmo class and i have to say that it is just ok. theres better out there but if you're looking for something inexpensive this will do the job. it will make your hair nice and flat but it snags and pulls a lot on the ends. also the ceramic coating comes off after a while and its left all rusted. not the best but good as a first.

I have had this straightening iron for 5 or 6 years now and I use it every other day. It finally quit on me this morning but it survived a lot of abuse. I've traveled all over with it, left the house with it on for a couple of hours(oops!), it's fallen off of the bathroom couter and much more. It always heated up in less than a minute and would straighten my hair in about 5 mins.I can't say enough good stuff about it. I read a lot of reviews and some people complained that it would randomly die. All I have to say in that regaurd is that the more expensive a product is, the more they test for quality control. (i.e. Maybe Chi tests 30 out of every products where as Jilbere tests 5 or 10 out of every 100.). Therefore, if you purchased a Jilbere that quit on you, you shouldn't give up on the brand. Just bring it back for a new one....maybe yours was a dud.
proper use!

I have tried the expensive flat irons that cost over $100, and nothing comes close to this product!!! With the others i would have to go over the same piece of hair several times. This is the best i've used thus far, i'm a cosmetologist and i mostly work with natural african american hair. when i use it on my clients people think that i gave them a relaxer when i just used this flat iron. the problem is i have only found it in NY for about $35.00. So i would have to travel to get it now I see I can order it from here great!!!! Bottom line this is the best flat iron if you want true results. Now I will say this I've been using the product sence about 2004 and I have purchased about three so far, but that was because it has been droped a couple of times and I didnt keep the reciept to turn it in for the warrenty but over all I will recommend this to any and everyone who lives to have bone straight hair. Many people dont know how to use these producets right which cause breakage or hair being dry, but with the proper knowledge this is great product period, I've used the CHI flat iron & it has nothing on the Ceramic Tools flat iron at all. I LOVE IT!, I LOVE IT!!, I LOVE IT!!!
I was amazed....

I've had this straightener since 2004, and it still works like it did the first time! Now that technology has changed somewhat, and there are better straighteners out there (Solia, Sedu, CHI) I would like to get a new one, but this one still works great! It heats up in about two minutes and it has the adjustable temperature setting. It is pretty damaging if you use it every day though, but I have extremely thin and straight hair so it's prone to damage. My hair also seems to sway one way, and for some reason it doesn't get one side pin straight. Maybe that's just my hair though. But if you're considering buying this product, I would say go for it if you're looking for something cheap and relatively good.

I've bought three of these straighteners over the past four years. They work well for about half a year or so, and they just die -- they won't heat up at all. But they're inexpensive and work well for quite a bit of time. What you pay for is what you get, I guess.

I have had this straightener for about a year. It worked well in the beginning but now it just isn't up to par. The goods thing are it heats up quickly and the size is perfect for travel and trips. The cons are when i use mine the temperature lowers. If you want it to keep your hair healthy it will just damage it. I say spend some extra cash and go for a professional one.
Works great on relatively straight hair that needs some smoothing

I have have my iron for 2+ years now and it's been a great value. I have long blonde (highlighted) hair that is relatively straight -- so I just use the iron to smooth my hair after blowdrying. Perfect for this.

I don't know what everyone is talking about when they say that theirs breaks often... i got mine for christmas my freshman year in highschool, and it JUST broke (I'm a freshman in college now, and it's thanksgiving). I straighten my hair at least 5 days of the week, and all I can say, is i loved all 5 years of straightening my hair with this. Even my friends would periodically steal if from me to use it (and mmy roommate at college used it just as much as I did!) My hair becomes soft, and nonfrizzy. I absolutely love it. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I got this from my hairstylist. She gave it to me because I didn't have one. It worked well and efficiantly for 2 years(but I must warn you the paint chips off)then the darn thing burned out. But even though I had it for two years it still didn't give me the results I was looking for. I wouldn't reccomend it for people who's hair is naturally thick, wavy, and frizzy. Spend a little more mulah for a better one.

I got this straightner with no big hopes. My hair is thick, curly, and frizzy plus I have alot of it. When my old straightner broke i used this one to hold me over. I ended up using it for 6 months, until it broke. It did a pretty good job for the price.

I've had this flat iron for over 3 years and it still works...like the new. It's not the best, but you get alot of bang for your buck. Small price, very good results. If you want an effective flat iron without spending alot of money, try this one. It really works. I keep forgetting I only spent $40 on it, your definitely get great results w/ this one. Of coures, as w/ most flat irons, it works better when you use products. My favorite is Straight Works by Paul Mitchell.

I own a a Ceramic Tools flat iron and I've had it for about a year now. I have to say, when I first got it, I loved it. Just about all my friends flat iron their hair. Their hair looked glossy and never frizzed. Mine looked broken, dull, and before I could see my friends, I would have to put my hair in a pony tail. The Cermaic Tools flat iron is not worth your time. I still used mine when I have to. I suggest you only get it if you have to.
