Product Rating: 4 Durable!
Reviewer: Ariel from Westfield, NJ  Sat May 30 2009

I have had this product for about 5 years. I love it. I have the 3/4", 1" and 1.5" and love them all. They have stood the test of time. I also have traveled to Europe, Australia and Argentina with it and have had no problems.

Product Rating: 2 BROKE AFTER ONE TIME OF USING IT!
Reviewer: madison from georgia  Sun Nov 30 2008

i used this curling iron one time and then it broke. the black thing on the end that you hold to twirl your hair around it fell off so i couldnt curl my hair anymore without buring myself. it works good but leaves creases in your hair from being so hot. i suggest that if you have thin to medium hair dont put it on as high as it will go.

Product Rating: 4 Still like it okay
Reviewer: Tiffany from Deerfield Beach, Florida  Thu Apr 17 2008

I also have been using this iron for years. I have two. One of them does turn off by itself alot. The other thing is I also have to tape the heat setting dial or it gets messed up since it is touching the side of the iron where you hold it.

So I just leave it on the same setting always.

I do think it is hot fast & curls very well. I would like to see a better spot for the button & wonder why my other one shuts off so darn fast, even when I am holding it.

Product Rating: 3 Ok the second time
Reviewer: Brooke   Wed Mar 19 2008

This product is very good the second time. The first time i got it, I was doing my hair and went to curl it and it burnt me hair off! But we got another one a week later and it worked just fine.

Product Rating: 1 Not the best
Reviewer: Kristin   Wed Feb 27 2008

I got this product thinking it was going to curl my hair perfectly, from other reviews of course. But when using the product, it did not work at all. The curls would not come down long enough, and if i finally got it to work after hours, the curls would wear away after a few hours. I regret getting this product.

Again, not bad for the money, hair still frizzes

Product Rating: 2 It's not that great
Reviewer: Kristin from Somewhere, MA  Tue Apr 17 2007

For some reason i can't get this to work. It will not curl far as i want it and it is not curling it at all. I don't know if it's just because it's new or something but its not working good and all its doing is crimping the ends of my hair. I regret getting this product.

Product Rating: 4 It's good, maybe it's just my hair
Reviewer: anonymous   Wed Mar 21 2007

I have long, past bra strap, thick, slightly wavy hair which I straighten daily.
I bought this curling iron after reading reviews that said that this curling iron worked even on thick, long hair. I have to say that although this curling iron does curl my hair (after holding each section for about 30 seconds, which I think is too long) half of my curls seem to fall after several hours. I don't often curl my hair because it doesn't seem to hold a curl. However, when I get it professionaly done the curl lasts all night and into the next day. I hoped that this curling iron would do the same.
I'm happy with the results, but if your hair doesn't easily hold a curl I would recomend getting a much smaller barrel and letting it 'settle' into long lasting curls.

Product Rating: 1 Ceramic curling iron
Reviewer: Janet from San Clemente, California  Tue Feb 20 2007

I was so looking forward to using this curling iron, but was discouraged when I plugged it in and turned it on and everything seemed fine until I picked it up. The red light was on and the iron turned itself off. I thought it was the plug so I tried others in my home and the I ended up with the same result. Needless to say I returned the curling iron.

Product Rating: 5 Excellent product!
Reviewer: Sherry Beck from Michigan  Tue Feb 13 2007

I love it. The handle is very ergonomically efficient. Very easy to work with my hand and elbow surgeries. It does a beautiful job on my hair! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Product Rating: 2 Will not stay "ON"
Reviewer: anonymous   Wed Jan 03 2007

I use several curling irons when curling my hair, so while I am using another iron, the Ceramic Tools iron shuts itself off.
I very much regret spending $40 for such a crummy, ill-designed curling iron.

Product Rating: 5 Loved It!!!
Reviewer: Gracie from Kansas City, MO  Sat Dec 23 2006

I bought this curling iron for my friend last year at Christmas and borrowed it last weekend and was amazed at how fast my hair curled and how it held it's curls for three days!!!!

One thing I hate is the setting button that I kept accidently clicking while doing my hair.

Product Rating: 1 disappointed
Reviewer: Pam   Sun Oct 15 2006

Save your time and return postage and order a more expensive brand of curling iron. Was extremely disappointed with this product. The iron would keep turning off. It would take a long time to reheat. It also never seemed to get hot enough to work well with my hair. Maybe this was because it kept shutting off. Anyway, I was extremely disappointed with this product!

Product Rating: 3 Hard to see number dial
Reviewer: Susan from Roseville, CA  Tue Aug 22 2006

My hand keeps hitting the number wheel to adjust the heat setting. I have considered taping it to keep it from moving. Also, the numbers are small and hard to read, especially in a dimly lit room. The wheel and numbers should are a bad design feature.

Product Rating: 2 burnt my hair, curl didn't hold.
Reviewer: Allie from Florida  Sat Jul 08 2006

I have very thick, coarse hair. When I started curling my hair, this horrible stench of burnt hair started radiating off. I hadn't used any product so I know it wasn't any gel burning, and I didn't hold it on my hair long either. I finished my head, and all day I could smell my head reeked. I washed it that night, and the smell still didn't come out. The curler burnt my hair and it took a few days to get the smell out. However, my cousin, who has much finer hair, has this same curler, and it works decently well on her. I don't recommend this.

Product Rating: 4 ceramic, heats up, long cord..
Reviewer: Becky from Olympia, WA  Fri Jun 30 2006

I got this curling iron for my trip to europe because of it's dual voltage feature. I am pretty satisfied, it heats up fast and hot, I also like that it will shut it's self off, if it has been sitting too long. Only, thing is the size I got was the biggest and I don't like really big ringlets. Also, it doesn't really hold a curl for that long, but the hot tools curling irons ( if you don't need dual voltage) work really well at holding a curl.

Product Rating: 3 Turns off frequently; bad button placement
Reviewer: Erika from Rhode Island  Sat Apr 01 2006

This curling iron would be great -- if it stayed on. The buttons (as you can see from the picture) are placed right underneath the lever that holds onto the hair which means every time the lever goes down, it pushes the power off. (Brilliant design). Also, as another reviewer mentioned, it turns off automatically (which may or may not be intentional since the lights blink and then fade and then blink again...??), and even after you press the power back on, it STILL continues to shut off. It takes too long to constantly monitor whether the power is on and redo all the half curls. Hence the 3 stars.
When this curling iron is actually ON however, it's great.

Product Rating: 5 Good purchase
Reviewer: Irene from Ceres, CA  Thu Mar 23 2006

It's just what I need it. I have long and thin hair. I can curl my hair in less than 20 minutes. It has 25 heat settings and you can change the settings depending on your hair. I have it at 17 and it curls my hair fast and it does not damage my hair. It is ready to use in less than 2 minutes and it has a light to let you now it's ready to use. It is good quality at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Product Rating: 4 No need for a straightener
Reviewer: Nicki from St. Louis, MO  Thu Mar 16 2006

I used to straighten my hair and then curl it every morning to soften the look...very time consuming!! This curling iron gets hot enough that I can use it to straighten my hair and curl it at the same time.

Also, they don't advertise that the iron automatically turns itself off. Very important for me because I tend to leave mine on and I don't want to burn the house down!

Product Rating: 3 not really ceramic
Reviewer: Roberta from Key West, FL  Mon Feb 20 2006

Just a metal curling iron--nothing ceramic or special about it--very disappointed--could have bought the same kind and quality in the local drug store a lot cheaper.
