I had my orginal hairsetter for years and was quite pleased with it. A few months ago I ordered a new set and after only a few months it quit. Wanting to be fair and wanting to give the product the benefit of the doubt I ordered another set only to have it quit after a few weeks. To spend $39.95 twice has certainly not been worth it.

I had my original set (blue) for over 10 years and the heating element quit. I went out about 8months ago and purchased the new one currently advertised and the heating element or electic connecting no longer works. I did love the way it worked.
GREAT!!!

I live in the Florida Keys, and with the humidity, hair setting is practically impossible. The curly does not stay as tight as I would like all day long, but I recommend this product!
Not easy to use, too slow

The Caruso SalonPro 30 Molecular Steam Hairsetter takes too long to set your hair. The rollers are hard to use and most are too large. I am very dissatisfied with this product.

I have used the Caruso Hairsetter for about 20 years now and I think it is the best curler you can buy. I love the way it's not hot against my skull and it takes like 10 minutes to set for curls that will last for days! I have heard people say they don't like the frizz factor, but all you have to do is use gel in your hair when it's wet and dry it and it does just fine. I can't say enough about this product and regular curlers and curling irons are a thing of the past for me.
You MUST be joking. ..

i bought this worthless piece of crap based on everyone's reviews, well, now i know better.
my peeves with it
* you have to heat up each roller, 1 by 1. takes some time when you have about 15-20 of them
* since its' steam, it leaves your hair wet, so you have to wait for it to dry on the rollers. i had to use a blow dryer to speed it up after it would not dry after 20 minutes.
* there was absolutely BARELY any curls, and the little that there was, they fell apart in a matter of hours.
* the clips on the rollers are HORRIBLE! they leave a crimp at the root, which looks terrible if you are trying to have a wave hairstyle, and they fall off your hair. and i have shoulder length hair.
seriously, the $20 Conair rollers i have work so much better, and not to mention much quicker.
so not worth it.

I have used Caruso since the first infomercial! I still use the original (add salt) Caruso for special events. The newer version doesn't hold the curl as well as the old version, but I still look good! I use my new Caruso every day and have not had any problems yet with the steamer. I did notice that the curls fall into soft waves after a few hours in the desert heat, but with my super fine stick straight hair, the soft waves are shiny and healthy looking. Thanks!
WONDERFUL product for all hair types!!!

I have used the Caruso hairsetter for over 10 years. My hair is chemical relaxed, past my shoulders, and a bit fine. Nothing keeps a curl in my hair except the Caruso, not curling irons, foam rollers, hard rollers, or even dryer sets that take up a half of a day. My curls really last ALL DAY LONG when I use the Caruso. It also adds fullness. This is my third system. The 1st used salt and still works great, the second was the travel sized and was purchased only for the extra rollers. Now this new one was purchased for the rollers as well. After years of repeated use the rollers are crumbling and falling apart. I always get compliments on my hair when I use the Caruso hairsetter. Nothing else even compares!!!! GREAT PRODUCT:)

I love this product! I still use it, the curls hold like no other hair setter on the market! I bought it in 1993, still must use the salt. I will replace it, if it ever dies! I recommend this product for anyone that has the desire for long lasting curls. I can be rather tight when you first take the curlers out. With practice you'll figure out how long to leave them in to get the desired look!

Bought my first Caruso Happy Steamer over 12 years ago; BAck in the days, you added salt. The curlers finally deteriorated. Love the new one; compact, no salt needed, and love the 30 curler set. If you want to change looks, the variety is great. It's fast; by the time you're done your makeup, it's time to take the curlers out.

I Bouught my first setter while still in High school off TV. I have bought rollers once and received the travel size for a gift from my soon to be Father -in Law because I kept bringing my regular set over. I get complements ever time I use it and it's the only thing that works on my fine Hair. I grauated in 1990 if that tells you how long I have used this set. I do Wish the roller foam the use for the red ones lasted better but the gray foam seems to work better.

...if and when it does work. Purchased first hairsetter a few years ago---but heating unit blew out in about 3 months, only getting in 4-5 total uses. Sent it in for repair/replacement...I use #2 setter occasionally now,to perhaps lengthen it's longevity. Sometimes it steams profusely, sometimes very little to none.
Curls really nice & beautiful at first, but only last a few hours--no matter how long curlers are left in/or regardless what kind of styling-aid products used...I agree with other reviewers that the foam does not last. Are they really made to or is this so to bind those die-hard users to keep buying more roller sets?...Wish they could continue to develop the product a bit further to ensure and create a sturdier unit, longer-lasting curls, more durable foam. Then I'd be a convert!

As I write this review, my Caruso is not working. I think I used it 5 times. That is very disappointing. If the return/replacement process goes smoothly, I will be satisfied but I am stumped as to why it is already not working. Saying that, when I did use it, I really liked it, which is why I am willing to give it another try.

There is nothing...absolutely nothing else that will hold a curl with my straight limp hair. I've had two perms this year and I have barely a wave pattern. But with the Caruso hairsetter I have full, bouncy curly hair. I use the petite curlers and do a spiral set. Plus it stays all day in midwest humidity. The statement that it holds curls for days is a bit of a stretch...if I sleep on the style, I wake up with just a few waves left. I do think the old unit I had that used salt left me with stronger curls. Back with that unit, I had no perm in my hair and it DID hold my style overnight. I woke up with my hair looking like it did when I went to bed. --- If anybody has limp, straight, hard-to-curl hair, I'd recommend this product.

Hitting an age where youth is fleeting and ones hair no longer reacts to perms ect left me wondering what am I to do with this limp luster hair. I remembered years ago hearing about the Caruso setter and thought why not give it a try. I have had constand perms for the last 20plus years and was not looking forward to limp, lifeless hair now that my hair no longer would "perm". The setter is wonderful, so easy to use and the set stays in place! I use it daily and from start to finish I'm done in 20 minutes. I highly recommend it!

I have been trying for years to curl my hair. I've bought hot rollers of all brands and prices, and they've never worked. I'm getting married and I want long, curly hair. A friend told me about her Caruso curlers and I tried them. WOW! I went out and bought a set the very next day. It's amazing how beautiful the curls look. I've never had curly hair before! And it lasts all day.

I purchased the product because everyone raved about how long the curls last, but my curls wither by the time I am ready to leave the house in the morning, forget lasting all day.
Good but not Great

I owned a Caruso when they first came out. I loved what it did for my hair (I have always had thin straight hair) back then. The old setter gave me lots of curls that lasted at least 8 hours. The new one that I just bought gives me curls that last a couple of hours and then just end up being slight waves and a bit of body. This might be that my hair has changed (I had a baby and my hair got thinner) or perhaps the products that I use (who knows what I used back then). The unit itself works great (lots of steam). The foam curlers seem different in that they are stiffer and don't seem to hold as much steam as I remember. But I am happy with the body and wave I do get as every little bit helps.
The new heating elements don't work

I have purchased 3 sets of the new Caruso Curlers in the past year and none of them is currently working. I had the original Caruso heating element for nearly 10 years when it finally gave out on me. Since then, each one of the sets I have ordered has burned up or shorted out on me after only 5 or so uses. I have spent nearly $100 to have this curling set. I love the way they make my hair look but I am SO frustrated with their failure to work everytime I go to plug them in. When I contacted the manufacturer I was told they would not refund my money but that if I shipped it back to them they would repair them for me. That is just more money that I have to spend. And since it has been at least a year since I purchased them I seriously doubt that the store I bought them from will give me my money back. I am extremely disappointed and would love to find out a way to fix this problem.
