THESE ROLLERS WERE TOTALLY NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. I HAVE UNRELAXED, COLOR TEATED HAIR SO IT IS IMPORTANT TO ME TO USE HAIR PRODUCTS THAT WILL HELP ME MANAGE BUT NOT DAMAGE MY HAIR. AFTER USEING THE CARUSO ROLLERS I LOOKED LIKE I HAD BEEN ATTACKED BY A WILD BEAST. ALL I WANTED WAS TO BE ABLE TO HAVE FULL BOUNCY CURLS EVERYDAY WITH OUT USING DIRECT HEAT. AFTER HEATING THE ROLLERS WITH THE STEAM THEY BECAME WET, WHICH MADE MY HAIR WET! THIS IS A DEFINANT NO NO FOR WOMEN OF COLOR WITH NATURALY CURLY AND FRIZZY HAIR. I RUINED MY BLOW DRYED LOOK. I SENT MY BEST FRIEND A PICTURE OF THE NEST THAT HAD REPLACED MY BEAUTIFUL HAIR, SHE IS STILL LAUGHING AT ME WEEKS LATER!
Great for Thick Hair!

These curlers are easy to use and are lightweight. If you want really springy super curls, wind tight, I found this out and ended up looking like a poodle. Less tension worked best for me, and the curls last all day and sometimes even the next day.
The facial steamer is awesome!
Love the curls

I purchased my first Caruso years ago when they used salt to get steam. It lasted for years and then quit. I ordered 2 more a couple years ago. I like the new ones because they don't have to have salt. I'm already on my third one . My second one stopped steaming about a year after I bought it. I occasionally have my third one stop steaming and then belch a lot of steam at once. I still love the product. Just wish it had lasted as long as the first one. I agree on the foam rollers. They don't last as long. Why don't they just sell you the foam instead of the whole roller. It's not been that long since I bought new rollers and I'm going to have to order more if I want to use my Caruso.
happy with the results

I decided to try these rollers after reading others' reviews on them. I had my doubts on how these rollers would be different from the rest of the ones I've tried. I have long, thin, baby fine hair. Usually after I curl my hair the curls are out before I even leave the house!! NOT these!!!!! The curls stay in and give volume and body to my hair all day long.
The real test was when I first received them. The weather was horrible; drizzly (with off and on rain), windy, and muggy humid. All the perfect conditions for a 'hat' day. I tried them them out and couldn't believe that even in that type of weather the curls were still bouncy, lively and my hair (for the first time) did not lose it's body and volume, much less the curls. It has made me so happy, I wake up earlier (than usual) just to curl my hair .... something I had once given up on.
The best hairsetter ever!

I purchased my first and only Richard Caruso Happy Traveler Hairsetter in 1989 and it is still going strong. My sister gave me the Caruso SalonPro thinking that my old hairsetter would give out soon. When it does, I will certainly use this hairsetter.
For someone who has no natural body in their hair, this is the best product for producing outstanding body and volume without the aid of any other hair enhancing products. It's just fantastic.

This is the second Caruso Steam hairsetter I have purchased. Its nothing like the first one. This steam hairsetter doesn't give the volume of steam I got from the first one. The foam on the curlers is a much cheaper qualitiy, and after only a half a dozen times using them, the foam started breaking apart. My curls don't last at all now. I'm dissappointed with the changes you have made. I use to rave to all my friends about it,but now I will only tell them the Caruso hairsetter isn't the like the first one , save their money till Caruso can up the qualitiy for the money they charge

I recently bought a brand new Revlon steam hairsetter from a discount store, paid only $12 for the set. The results were not bad but I just hate the rubber rollers came with it. They are so heavy and won't hold the hair tight enough, plus the roller shield design is horrible and hard to put on. After reading so many good reviews here about Caruso hairsetter, I couldn't help but to order a set. Well, I just received it today and I tried a few rollers out (small & medium sizes) to test the results. Comparing to the Revlon rollers, these rollers are a lot lighter and easier to put on. Plus they are tight enough to hold the hair up and the curls are so much nicer. I am looking forward to use this unit on a regular basis.
One thing I have to say however is regarding the poor quality of this set. The steamer looks just plain cheap and as soon as I opened the roller bag, I noticed that one of the medium size rollers has a broken rim. What's the deal? I know a lot of people have complained about the steamer stopped working after short period of time, after seeing this unit myself, I am convinced that mine might not hold very long either. Also there is no on/off switch :( I plan to use the Revlon Steamer(the quality is better and it has dual posts so you can heat up two rollers at the same time) when this on quits on me. Anyway, the rollers are great, but not so for the steamer.

I recently started using the Caruso hair setter. It's wonderful for your hair and curls last me all day. Even more wonderful is that I am african american and it works for me given my hair moisture unlike a curling iron that causes me spit ends. I would totally reccommend this hairsetter.

This product is so much better on your hair instead of a curling iron. It is also a lot easier to use especially on long hair. I recommend it highly.

Have been using the Caruso Hair Setters for many, many years. Love the way it curls and gives body to your hair. The curls and or body stay in all day. Will never be with out one. Your hair doesn't break or get burned as it does with curling irons. It's fun experimenting with the large rollers for the straight look or using the smaller ones for lots of curls!

I was so happy to find the Caruso Salon Pro 30 Steam Hairsetter on your site ! I have been to more stores than I care to remember, and it was right here at Folica. If you have hard to curl hair like I do you will love this set ! My husband has never seen my hair look so good. Everything about my order with Folica was excellent, from ordering right to shipping right to my door. Thank you so much,,Dawn, Charlotte N.C.
Best Hot Roller System on the market !!

I have used this system for over 15 years and would use no other ! I am on my 3rd steamer but they seem to last a very long time before they wear out. I sometimes panic wondering what I will do if this company ever decides not to manufacture this product any longer. I realize the current steamer is alot smaller than the original but I do wish they would come out with something a little smaller for traveling. It is a little bulky in the makeup case ! But otherwise, I am a very happy consumer !!
Oh well

I used these rollers for about a month and loved them. The steam is great for your hair and I loved the compact design. However, the unit took longer and longer to start steaming until it finally quit altogether, withouth any explanation. I'm going with another brand.

This is the third Caruso Hairsetter system I have used and I love them. I have been using this system for about 16 years. I like the way my hair is not damaged by the system. I have very fine, straight hair, that is hard to hold a curl without a perm. I have not used a perm since I began using the system. Everyone says my hair always looks as though I just left the salon from having it professionally done. I have used it on my grandaughters hair and they love it!
This is worth buying

my mom bought this for me back in the mid-80s (the rectangular, purple unit), and believe it or not, it STILL works! i have naturally curly hair, and i sometimes like to straighten it with a CHI, then use the caruso the next day. the steam is definitly better than using yet another heating element for curl. plus, you can always use the unit for steam facials as well!
i would definitly rate it at 4 stars. it might not be for everyone, but for my hair type, it works well!
A surprise

I purchased my first Caruso Hairsetter over 20 years ago, it was square and you had to add salt. Believe it or not, it's still going strong but it IS a little bulky, so when I saw the new, more compact models, I packed up my old one and excitedly awaited delivery of my brand new Hairsetter, with brand new rollers and everything!
Unfortunately, when I got it and tried it the first time, it didn't emit enough steam. I tried to trouble-shoot it as directed in the pamphlet, but even that didn't work. So, I had to return it for an exchange. Hopefully the one they send to me this time will work. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure this doesn't happen often - and heck, in the meantime I can still use my old machine. I'm telling you women ... this product SAVES your hair ... I've not had a split end in over 20 years and I've permed it, dyed it, hot-rolled it, ratted it ... the Caruso machine is one of the most wonderful haircare products on the market today.

These rollers work great on my fine hair. I have used the Richard Caruso steam rollers for the past 15 years, and my old unit finally quit steaming. I was really glad to find that they were still around. The only thing I don't like about the newer model, is the placement of the roller cover over the steam. I have steamed my fingers more than once trying to put them on the little stops on the slanted top. The old unit was flat on top, and you just had to set the roller cover over the steam hole.

I still have the older version that uses salt. Better than the newer version. When your foam wears out just go to walmart and buy Goody foam rollers and slide on the curler. They work great!
