Think about the result you want and then order as close as possible. The smaller the roller the tighter the curl and the bigger the roller the larger the curl. But each person has to experience the roller sizes to see what makes one happy with the result. I am sure that is why when one buys the unit they get each size to see which one they like the best and then can order a six pack of the size they would use the most. Of course the thicker and longer the hair the more rollers one would need if they want to do it all at once.
For curly hair
I already have curly hair but it is spirals. I'm wondering if I can use a hot roller set to make them bigger. Would they end up lasting? Is it possible? Question posted by Mel B. Wed Mar 29 2006

Instructions are included/as well as diagrams-I've had this setter for years-takes about 2-3 minutes to start steaming and the roller only needs to sit on the setter getting infused with steam for about 5 seconds or so. I have fine hair so I don't steam the roller cap. By the time I have the last roller on my head, the first one is ready to come out--but I wait 5 min-after removing rollers I find that if I wait 5 min(I put on makeup etc. to use up the time) before I comb my hair//the curl is set better and will last all day-this is the only way to get any curl in my hair and keep it healthy and shiny at the same time-I always have a spare unit and rollers in case they stop making them. The steam unit can last 3 yrs. or so for me-great value considering I have to use it every day and haven't spent a penny at the hairdressers for ages!! You won't find anything better in my opinion-by the second time you use it-you'll be a pro!! ENJOY YOUR GREAT LOOKING HAIR LIKE I DO!!
