I have fine hair that doesn't hold curls very easily. Caruso is the only thing that gives me curls that last all day long. It's amazing. I don't even bother with anything else anymore.
Only 1 problem

I have only one problem with this product - it caught on fire. I've had a Caruso curling system for quite a while, I'm using my third one at present so I really like them, however, since this most recent one caught on fire, I have to question what they changed that would have caused this.

I was hoping that this setter was as good as the one I purchased and used for the last 30 years. But alas they don't make them like they used to. Its ok, but the Caruso they first came out with was much better steaming action. This one takes a litte longer. So it still does the job but the set is not as firm and does not hold as long, this could be that my hair itself changed? Its still better than the curling iron though.

I have long, thick hair that will not hold a set with any other hair curling system than Caruso Steam setters. Curls last all day- and the next!I particularly like this model because it doesn't need salt like the older models and it travels easily. It also came with a good variety of curler sizes.
Caruso Curls really hold their shape.....

I started using this curling system about 8 years ago. I have very straight fine hair that will not hold a curl, not even a perm. These curlers are the only thing I have found that will give my hair body and a curl that will last for 8 hours. Using this system doesn't seem to damage my hair as much as other dry heat units do. It is very portable, I take it everywhere.

Great product, super price. I had looked everywhere for a replacement for one I had since my daughter was 4. She is now 17. We love the product, the price and the speedy shipment. A+

I have used caruso curlers for over twenty years. They are the best curlers, no damage to hair, long lasting curls. I would not buy any other hot curlers.

This is my second Caruso steamer. I love it! ...such a great convenience. When I am running late (I am always running late), I plug the steamer in and it's just seconds until I am ready to roll. The steam helps relax any weird waves, kinks, etc. and puts an end to the beggining of a bad hair day. I'd rather take my steamer when traveling over any other curling tool. A power surge shorted out my first one, along with my hairdryer. I had it for 3 years and never had any problems. I couldn't get another one to replace it fast enough. I bought a set of hot rollers to get me by...they took 20 minutes to get hot enough and once they cooled, you had to wait forever for them to heat back up (if you need that same size roller). I wish I had that kind of time... I didn't find that the hot rollers gave a better end result than the steamed curls.
What Happened to Caruso?

This has been my favorite curler system for my baby-fine long hair....the ONLY one that ever curled my hair for the whole day. I used to buy a new unit every three or four years...it would finally stop working....probably the hard water. The last time I needed a new one I couldnt find it in any stores, so I ordered online and paid twice as much as before both for the unit and then shipping & handling on top of that. Today my new one of 9 months quit working and I couldnt even find it listed under the Helen of Troy website to order just the unit....the parts list that came with it had it on the order list. So I guess I have to reorder online again and pay all the shipping and handling charges...this is ridiculous and the product obviously isnt as good as it used to be.
love it

i have been using this system for years. i have already gone through 1 unit and my second is starting to get sluggish. it would be nice if the steam unit itself could be sold separetley because i do not really need any rollers.i have ordered rollers separetley. its a great product and people always ask how i get my hair so curly.
What on earth has happened to my favorite steam system?

I've been using Caruso since high school....(10 years ago) and have always adored it! The comments are endless everytime I curl my hair...until now. The new steamer is awful! My curls are limp lifeless waves....what gives?
I wish someone could help me figure this out...is it the new rollers or the steamer itself? Gosh...it seems like the company is really trying to save a buck...isn't it enough that they use third world labor?....they have to make a bad product too? Too bad...so so sad.

I have used this product ever since it came on the market. I don't know why I can't find the sets in retail stores now, but I love the product and have to replace a set every few years - and the service from Folica is always great and the product is always in stock.

I have had the average heated rollers all my life, but nothing compares to the Caruso rollers. My hair is shoulder length and very fine, with other rollers within 2 hours the curl was all gone. With the Caruso rollers the curl last for days, even with my hair type. The rollers heat up in seconds. I would highly recommended this rollers to anyone who wants to add body to there hair as well as keeping your hair healthy.
Does a great job!

My customer service experience was exemplary. The representative was extremely helpful and patient. I had used the salt Caruso curlers years ago (bought them because I thought it was a hoot that a bald man could design great hair curlers for women). They still work great and I love not having to take the salt. The only reason I didn't give an "Excellent" is because although the steamer is travel size, the curlers are very cumbersome and take up a lot of room (although I don't know how you'd get around that). LOVE that they don't fry my hair.

I love the Caruso hairsetter. I have thin baby-fine straight as a string hair! The Caruso does an excellent job of adding body and lovely curls to my hair that hold up all day long. Here are a few tips from someone that has been using this product for a very long time. Use hairspray to set your style, the curls will hold and stay fresh much longer. If your sponges are wearing out, don't go to the expense of buying new rollers, the ends come off of the Caruso roller, buy the regular sponge curlers in a similar size and replace with those. Use a styling product to help to lock in your curls. Clean your unit periodically with a water and vinegar mixture to disolve buildup that can cause your unit to not work as efficiently or overheat and burn out.
Yeee-Haaa, I LOVE this thing!!!!!

I bought my first Caruso traveler system at a hair show in Chicago, IL in 1991 and had used it all the time since then. Most recently, I hadn't used it for more than a year and decided it was time to try it again. Well, I'm happy to say, my system stood the test of time, but alas, it did breakdown and finally die.
I loved how the rollers left my hair healthy looking instead of dry and brittle with the conventional hot rollers. So I decided to order a new one.
I'm so impressed with the improvements on a FANTASTIC product. Especially noting that you don't have to use salt anymore to get the steam going. Thanks Caruso for this much needed improvement. Now I can just pick them up and go without having to lug the right amount of salt around! Now I need to add more rollers to the ones I received, as my original ones are broken down and torn.

I absolutely fell in love with the Caruso curlers when I got them back in college.(I'm 32 now) I used it for YEARS!!!! But when the steamer finally bit the dust I just had to buy a new one. I have had the newer unit for about a year. (This newer steamer is the version that does not require salt.) Much to my dismay I am without a steamer again. It production of steam just diminished. I don't think it is as well made as the older steamers. I have to say that the product works very well with my fine hair and keeps the curl in my hair even overnight when I do my hair in the morning. I'm just not impressed with the newer version of the steamer.
I cant be without my steamer!

I bought my first Caruso years ago on the shopping channel. I loved it and it lasted years. I travelled with it and used it every single day. When it finally died I was distraught...................I couldnt find it anywhere. I burned my head many times with electric rollers and the curl would not stay in as well as the Caruso. My son found this website and ordered a new one for me and I am thrilled. I am going to order another one as backup as I can never be without it again.
