I bought the Caruso set (plus extra curlers) in Feb of 2005 - it is now July of 2005 and I have no steam omitting from the unit. I have cleaned the unit as instructed. A waste of my money. And of course the Sallys Beauty Supply Store I bought it from has a 90 day return policy, even with a receipt. So I am stuck having to purchase more curlers - but they wont be Caruso.
I would not recommend this product if you expect good quality and a long life. I will be surprised to see this review on their website.

Fantastic product! Though there is some exagerration in the claim of your curls staying in until you wash your hair, they stay in better than when you use a curling iron, without the heat damage. My hair retained some curl and body even in our 105 degree weather! I also love the fact that very little hair comes out, unlike when I used velcro curlers, and there was hair all over them. After getting this, I threw those away. They're easy to use, once you get the hang of it. By the second time I used them I was a pro! I highly recommend this product.

My hair has always been unruly... sort of bent with a wave now and then... just ugly hair... until I met Caruso Curls. God bless the person who invented them.

The concept is great and this settter has the potential to be a wonderful product.
It sets hair like nothing else. Hands down.
However, I think that they should move the manufacturing to the USA and improve the overall quality of the product. I feel that I'm buying one every other month, as the ionic steam device does not always work properly, and is different from setter to setter. I have two in my basement now as backups! The new one worked great - for a week. Now the steam level waxes and wanes. Very frustrating.
I would gladly pay twice as much or even more, if I knew that my setter would hold up for years. TAKE NOTICE - CARUSO.

I have been using caruso curlers since you first came out with the informercial. I love the curl is does last all day just the way I love my hair. People always ask me how I make my hair look so soft and curly. People literally ask me if they can touch my hair. I love it. My problem has been that I use it every day and The unit hasn't doesn't seem to last very long. After approximately three to four months, I plug it in and nothing.... I had better luck with the one I had to add salt to. It was the pink one. So here I am Buying another one. I've got to be your best cusomer.

I am so happy with this product--in fact, back in September, 2004, my older version of this hairsetter broke down, so I quickly got online to Folica and ordered this one and it arrived within 3 days! I've been using it ever since and I'm always happy with the results. My only fear is that this model may not be available in the future when I might need to get a new one...

i wrote a previous review that these were above average.. after using them for 4 weeks now, I have to retract that. The curls do not stay in my hair all day -- unlike some of these people that are stating the curls last 2 days!
The curl looks GREAT when i take the rollers out, but it doesnt last. By afternoon i have nothing more than waves.
My hair def. takes to a curl so I am not sure if the unit isnt working anymore of if it has something to do with weather, etc. I am not as thrilled with these rollers as the rest of the reviewers on this site.

I purchased my first caruso hair setter some 13 years ago, and yesterday when it just stopped I went into a panic. I have never found another product that sets my hair and holds the set without friz or damage, let alone hold the curl for more then fifteen minutes. I am a happy women!

I like the fact that the set is compact. I took the steamer and 6 rollers with me on vacation and it packed up nicely. The sponges on the rollers are a bit chinsy, however all in all I am glad I bought them.
My curls last all day if I leave the rollers in for 25-30 mins. They don't seem to damage your hair like hot irons so I like that. You don't have the 'control' that you would have with a curling iron, however after a few times I got the hang of it. My hair is fine, blonde, and a bit dry on the ends from highlighting so I like the fact that i'm not using hot irons.

I purchased the original Caruso Hairsetter a long time ago and loved it. It finally went out on me so I purchased a new ionic setter. Unfortunately I sent it back within 3 days! Did not produce any steam after one use. I used distilled water too. I miss my curls - it was a great setter, but the new ones are awful!

The Caruso Steam Rollers are the BEST I've ever used, and I've tried EVERYTHING on the market. I avoid hair dryers and regular heated rollers because they cause my hair to dry out and split. The Caruso is great because my curl holds all day, with minimal hairspray after my rollers come out. I don't even use hairspray if I've put styling product in first. My hair is very straight, yet the curl holds and my hair is shiny and beautiful! A+++++ Don't know what I'd do if they stopped making this product!
Love it, but Caruso it didn't last long enough!

I have fine thin hair and I love the Caruso steam curlers. Unfortunately, the steamer wore out after only 7 months. I have plenty of curlers left, but the system is shot. I tried cleaning it with vinegar and now it's worse. Can someone tell me what the difference is between this one and the Caruso SalonPro Molecular Steam Hairsetter???

I've been using this product for a number of years, with great results. The first unit I had lasted for years. Since that unit, however, I only get a few months out of it. The one I currently have was doing really well. I used nothing but distilled water in it. Then I went on vacation & I used plain water twice. I took it back home, and it's abilities were immediately deminished. I cleaned it with vinegar, but it only got worse. Now, after 1 month of regular use, it is out of commission and so are the $50 I spent on it. Any suggestions from anyone?

I have been using Caruso rollers for years and decided to upgrade to the new ionic version. It puts out a lot of steam. It makes a clicking noise when the ion selector is on which scared me at first but that is what it is suppose to do. It is not loud or anything. Everyone raves about my hair when I curl it with these. It looks so natural and I can change the look by the way I roll it, different sized rollers, etc. I love it and use it constantly.

I have used the Caruso since it first came out on the market. I have long, very thick hair that is hard to work with. I can style my hair in 15 minutes and if I want to change the style(for whatever reason), or just touch up after a workout, I can also do this in minutes. I love it and would NEVER use anything else. My biggest fear is that they will stop making it.

The ion setting of this steamer is a little loud. I mainly use the regular steam setting but both produce the luxurious curls that Caruso always delivers!

I purchased the setters as a birthday present to myself (along with the Sedu flat iron - with is also wonderful)hoping that it would accomplish half of what the great reviews claimed it did. I was hoping it would, above all else, smooth out my hair after I blow-dried it to give me a more sleek look. Not only did it give me a sleek look, but I could also choose what type of "look" I wanted. From tight curls for a more done up look to loose waves for a beachy vibe, this product is amazing. It takes no time at all and leaves my hair looking amazing (I've gotten too many compliments to count!) without all the damage. Truly a miracle product (and highly recommended by me!).

I have had the Caruso Molecular Hairsetter for over 20 years, and it still works fine. I don't know why anyone would have a problem. I actually found another one in a clearance house and bought it for the curlers because it was less expensive than buying the curlers and both are still going strong. Both need salt.
I love it. There is nothing on the market like it! If you watch the old Nanny shows you will see her using one on her hair in several of the episodes. Does she have an interest in this product?
I am going to buy the Ion one (as soon as I can convince myself to buy it since my other 2 work just fine). I need to buy new curlers and it's a question of buying new curlers or the new Ion unit.
I would recommend this product to anyone over any other product on the market. It works better than any curling iron, hot rollers, etc. If you just want body, it works terrific on baby fine hair. If you haven't shampooed and have a lot of hair product in your hair, you can brush out some of the product and then use the hair setter and the steam works with the product you still have in your hair to have a "just out of the salon look".
