I just recently went from shoulder length hair to a short layered look that ends right below my chin, does it work on short styles too ? Or is there a better Chi recommendation? ( My hair is thin and fine too! ) Question posted by Emily Tue Oct 09 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Brianna

There is a CHI that is only .5 inch. that would be much better for you since short hair is more easily styled with a thinner plate | counter top holder and pouch
Does this come with the pouch and suction countertop holder in the box with it? Question posted by Nikki Wed Oct 03 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by customer service

200 degrees celsius:D | Take on trip?
I have very curly hair (think Keri Russell in her "Felicity" days), about shoulder length, but have been wearing it straight lately. I would love to shorten the routine, but was also curious about how this product would do while traveling. Also, does anyone know how this Chi model compares with the T3 Tourmaline Professional Ionic Wet/Dry Iron?? I am trying to decide if either is worth the splurge. Thanks. My friend has the T3 Tourmaline Professional Ionic Wet/Dry iron to say it sucks would be lying. I have used it many times before and it still gets the job done and looks nice when it is done, for me anyway I know that her mother tried to use it and hated it and went back to her CHI. It is still a much better flat iron than most out there, however it tends to make people's hair frizz up so if you already have curly hair, this may not be the flat iron for you and it takes longer to heat up. Also, you can't set the exact temperature like you can with the CHI, it has the dial and you pick a setting from 1 - 10 I believe it is, Other than that it isn't bad, just not as good as the CHI also, the CHI has an automatic timer to shut off on it's own after a certain amount of time, if you choose to set it to it. Personally I would pick the CHI, (which I did I actually own this flat iron.) but either are still better than most of the flat iron's out there and the not having to blow dry your hair first is great!! | | Reply by Jenna

I don't know much about the T3 Tourmaline Professional Ionic Wet/Dry Iron, but I do have this CHI and I travel with it all the time and it has held up very well. I've also dropped it a few times and it still works great. Hope this helps! | usage
can you also use this flat iron when your hair is dry, or does it always have to be wet? Question posted by Jiah Sat Jun 30 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Melissa

In my experience it works best when it's wet because it doesn't get as hot as a regular flat iron. It relies on the steam to create the heat. I would recommed at least misting your hair with water to make it damp before using. | | Reply by Lindsay

Of course you can use it on dry hair! It just has steam channels to allow it to be used on damp hair, too. | | Reply by Nichole

I wouldn't recommend using it on dry hair because it seems to dry your hair out. You need the steam so it doesn't dry your hair completely out. Your hair needs to be at least damp. | Shampoo

my hairdresser used this on my hair last week when she cut it. it is AMAZING!!! i always use a flat iron, but this one is the best i've ever seen. i would use my other iron on damp hair and it was very coarse and a lot of strays. this one really smooths it out and seals each piece of hair so you don't have little pieces sticking out here or there like you normally would.
she used it on my hair after washing it and cutting it. my hair was still pretty damp. if you just towel dry your hair, it will work fine. just watch out for the water and steam that comes off the iron when using it. | | Reply by Meg

I always use mine when it is wet, I just run a towel over it to make it so it isn't dripping, then I put in product to protect my hair...and then flat iron it... and it works great! | | Reply by Erin

If you thin or fine hair just squeeze most of the water out of your hair, but if you have thick hair you should towel dry you hair for 2 or 3 minutes |
