I think iron is ok,but for the money you pay for it I think that it is not worth it. Everyone elses striaghtner that I use seems to work much better than this one.
Very Disappointed - Pulls My Hair Out !

I had a Chi flat iron that I loved but broke, so I decided to buy the volumizing iron for my fine hair. I Hate It! In fact, I have stopped using it and bought another flat iron.
I bought the volumizing iron because I wanted to put volume and curls into my fine hair. However, even when I take very small sections of hair, my hair catches on the "grooves" that are on the iron and it pulls some of my hair out! Ouch! I believe the grooves are the issue. If the iron didn't have the grooves, I'd probably write a better review. My advice, don't buy it!
I thought CHI was the best

After getting a new hair cut, a flat iron was a must. I battled with my husband to let me spend this much on a flat iron. I won. The next day I went to do my hair and the moment I turned it on, it sparked and now it doesn't work. I never got to use this thing once. It is under warranty, but it cost me $6 to ship it to them and I had to include a $15 check for return shipping & handling. Plus, now the warranty is only good for 90 days after repair. Worse than anything I had to admit to my husband he was right, it wasn't worth the money.

I have thin hair that tends to get flat...plus I have a hard time flipping the ends because my hair is naturally straight, I just use a flat iron to get the smooth look...I was disappointed with this iron..it doesn't get hot enough so my hair ended up having tons of static, plus it didn't make my ends look smooth and full of volume like they said...it looked fried and dead...I have a regular CHI and I like it much better, it smooths out the ends. I still love CHI but that straightener was not my favorite.
Absolutely love it!

This is a great iron. It doesn't require the high temp because it heats from both sides, like a flat iron, not like a regular iron. You can make curls large and small, loose or tight, virtually what ever you want. You can get lift and curls. There was a small learning curve for me, so don't give up. Play with it. Visualize the curl you want to see. It will do what you want, with a tiny bit of practice. You will love the shine, fullness, bounce, and all day resilient curls! A great hair cut and quality hair care helps. Think about that as well if you are having trouble. It may not be the iron.
not so amazing

For the price of this thing, I expected a better quality product. It is very light, which would not be a downfall for it if it worked like it should. It left crimps at the top of my hair, and it is virtually impossible to use for curling and I am very experienced with hair tools (in other words, I know what I'm doing). I was also disappointed with the straightening and "volumizing" performance this product claims as being exceptional. It was unremarkable at best.
CHI volumizing iron

CHI is a great brand, and I am glad that I made the purchase, but I do have a small complaint. It only heats up to a temp of 180 degrees, whereas the Generic Value Products (GVP- CHI knock-off) regualr flat iron heats up to 300 and something degrees. That extra heat really makes a big difference. The hotter, the smother and shinier. But this is a great iron for getting out kinks and curling hair under at the bottom. I have really long hair, so it doesn't help me much with root lift. I think it would be great for someone with short hair.
Great Gift

I bought this for my sister-in-law who has frizzy hair and had expressed an interest in getting a flat iron. I chose this one for her because she has short-ish hair and would allow her to put a little lilt at the ends. She absolutely loves it.
IT'S OK...

IT WORKS WELL. HAIR IS SMOOTH AND SHINY. BUT IT DOESNT ALLOW ME TO CURL THE ENDS LIKE I THOUGHT IT WOULD. I EXCHANGED IT FOR A FLAT IRON.
Chi Volumizing Iron

I bought the Chi Volumizing Iron without really knowing what to expect. I already have thick hair so overall volume was not a goal. I love it and have been using it daily since I got it. I typically flat iron my hair with a normal flat iron, then I use the Chi Volumizing Iron to add volume to the crown and also use it to soften my bangs and the layers around my face. Since I have been using it, I have gotten compliments everyday on my hair. Two people even said my hair looks like I have it professionally done! I think it is a great product and would highly recommend it to others. I think the only down side is that it doesn't come with any pictures or recommendations on how to use it. If I hadn't been successful with it on my own I would have taken it to my hairdresser and asked her to show me how to use it.

I dont like it. It doesn't work at all like I thought it would. It would be nice if I could change it for a regular chi flat iron.
It is not a bad product

When I first got this iron I really was a bit skeptical because of the curvature in the medal plates. I had the previous (old school) chi for three years and never had to mess with temperatures (I wish chi would give some sort of guideline if they give the buyer temp options); after playing around with it I decided the highest degree was best for my wavy-thick-fine hair. I have used it for about a month now and I am happy with the product. My boyfriend says my hair doesn’t look like horse hey anymore, meaning the ends are not so crisp- pin straight; the ends have body, giving a more natural look. My advice if you buy it, just beware you will have to play around with it; however, it works just fine.
MUST BUY!!!

I've been straighting my hair for years but it ALWAYS came out super flat. This iron REALLY helps give you volume and you can curl your at the same time!!! I love starightening half way and then towards the bottom curling the ends. ITS GREAT!!!

I have always had very fine/thin hair but loved the way my hair shined after straightening it. This iron gives a unique boost at the roots but takes a little practice to master all the flicks of the wrist to get the style you desire. I love the CHI Volumizer because I get that smooth shiny look and at the same time, my hair is not matted to my head, it has volume and bounce! I took the time to come back and write this review because I have never found any product in my entire life to give me true volume that lasts all day. So if you have fine/thin hair, this is definitely the product you want. CHI is amazing and CHI Volumizer Iron is beyond words!!!

I have short hair that is wavy and I was using the regular flat iron on it. My hairdresser tried the volumizer on it and it is sooooo much better! I doesn't give me the fried split ends, and it gives me mega volume so my hair isn't flat. I bought one and I can't live without it/!!
