Will this product actually make my hair straighter, or just smoother and softer? And should I put it in while my hair is damp, after my CHI Silk Infusion, then blow dry and then flat iron? Question posted by Casey Mon Sep 08 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by Bella

It will not make your hair straighter, just smoother and softer. If I put some in my damp, naturally wavy hair and let it air dry, my hair will still be wavy, just not frizzy and dry feeling. I like it, I guess. It isn't exactly a miracle product. I add some CHI Silk Infusion once I've put the Straight Guard on damp hair, blow dry straight, then flat iron. It does help a little with blow drying, I've noticed. My hair doesn't pouf up as much and it maybe keeps it a little straighter before even flat ironing. | Hold hair in place
I use the chi silk infusion before i flat iron my hair, but since it isn't a hold my hair ends up flipping out at the bottom. Does this product do a good job of holding hair in place? Question posted by Ma Mon Feb 18 2008 Submit your answer this and silk infusion

nooooo...use the CHI Silk Infusion when wet because it has heat protection in it, which you need to protect hair from heat styling. Then use the Straight Guard. | Will this keep my hair from flipping out?
If I use this before I straighten, will it keep my hair straight all day?!? That's what I really need! Question posted by margot Fri Aug 03 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Kayla

It might - the problem could be your iron (if you use one), though. A good iron I would recommend would be the Sedu - spendy, but worth it and will save you money down the road because you'll never go back to buying unnecessary products! | Dry Hair?
Can this product be used on dry hair afterit has been flat-ironed? Is it a conditioner? Question posted by Donna Wed Jan 31 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Bella

It can be used on dry hair, but if you use it after flat ironing all it will do is keep the frizz down. And I don't think it is a conditioner. I usually use it when my hair is dry and wavy, to get rid of the frizz that happens when I let my hair dry naturally. You can also use it BEFORE flat ironing, mixed cocktail style with a little CHI Silk Infusion to protect your hair from the damaging heat of the flat iron and blow dryer and to help your hair stay straight. |
