It works wonders with my Sedu iron. I put in a dime sized amount into my palm after towel drying my hair when I get out of the shower, then I blow dry and straighten my hair. | Using with straigtening balms
I currenlty straigthen my hair using Redken #12 (Ultra straight balm). It doesn't seem to offer much heat protection, but does a good job of straigtening my hair. Can I use Chi Silk infusion in combination with a straigtening balm, and does is matter the order you apply them in? Question posted by Jessie Wed Feb 06 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by Morgan

It is best to apply your straightening balm to wet hair, blow dry it out as straight as you can, and right before using your flat iron, apply a small amount of the silk infusion, careful not to get too much at your roots. This works great for me! The purpose of the silk infusion is to strengthen your hair and protect it from the heat( the formula is activated by the ceramic heat of your flat iron) The chi silk infusion also makes my hair softer and silkier. | Safe for color-treated hair?
Is CHI Silk Infusion safe for color-treated hair? I love the product, but it seems my color faded quickly once I began using it. Question posted by Peanutbrutal Sat Jan 19 2008 Submit your answer | Reply by Sandi

YES It does meaning you won't have to use anything else than a dime sized amount of silk infusion for your hair to feel silky soft weightless and protected from heat | bio silk or chi

YES IT'S BETTER TO USE BEFORE FLAT IRONING, IT DOES NOT CONTAIN ALCOHAL IN THE INGREDIENTS, AS BIOSILK DOES. SOME PEOPLE SAY, THAT TYPE OF ALCOHAL IS THE GOOD KIND FOR YOUR HAIR, BUT ANY TYPE WILL DRY OUT YOUR HAIR IN THE LONG RUN. I rEcOmMeNd ChI sIlK InFuSiOn. | | Reply by Brianna S.

Yup. Biosilk has achohol in it that actually dries out your hair so when you straighten the dry-ness doubles.
It's so funny, I was in the store the other day and I was about to buy biosilk and was like "Well I've heard a lot about Chi Silk Infusion, I'll try something new."
I'm truly glad I did. There is a visable and feelable difference! | Use in place of mousse or gel?
I am new to using a flat iron. Do I use CHI infusion in place of mousses or gels?In other words; I use shampoo, conditioner, CHI infusion and hair spray. Correct? Question posted by Peggy Mon Nov 05 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Lucy

You should wash your hair and condition then try and let your hair air dry (time permitting) if not then blow dry your hair. Then... once your hair is completely dry section your hair. I have alot of hair so I section into 3 parts (kinda like a peace sign on my head)each section gets a dime size amount of silk infusion then I use the flat iron... I love this stuff! | How do you like this product for those who don't flat iron?
I was wondering what the results of using Silk Infusion are for those who use it who DON'T flat iron, if any. Thanks! Question posted by Julie Sun Nov 04 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Liz

You don't need to flat iron in order for it to work. It will still give a shiny and silky look. you should put it in after you shower and towel dry(nickel size amount). You can air dry or if you blow dry while round brushing that will give best results. | all types of hair
Is Chi products good on all types of hair. Asian, African-american? etc. Question posted by Valerie Tue Oct 02 2007 Submit your answer | Reply by Ky

I'm African-American and it works really well on my hair. I only have to go over my strands once (maybe twice) from the ROOT and I'm done. I recommend being very careful because the Chi is going to be very hot and you don't want to burn yourself. I also highly recommend using it with other Chi products. I use Silk Infusion and Shine Infusion (which tames flyaways and works somewhat like holding spray but in not NEARLY as heavy). | | Reply by Ky
