I am very pleased with this hair dryer. I have very thick coarse hair--shoulder length. It used to take me 15-20 minutes to dry. Now, it takes about 5-7 minutes, which is what I was aiming for in the morning!
Great hairdryer....but a few drawbacks

I purchased this hair dryer in June 2006. It is a GREAT hairdryer and made a 100% difference in drying time and my hair looks 100% better when I use it. My frusturation is with the hot/cold button. It jammed and would not release so I sent it back to Folica for replacement. Folica returned it with no questions asked, however they did make me wait about 10 days to receieve my replacement dryer. I had to first send it back plus a check for the cost of shipping before they would send me out a new one. This happened sometime in November. Last week the dryer stopped working all together. It was fine one day and then the next day when I went blow dry my hair it would not turn on. It was very strange for such and expensive dryer that is only used once a day for 15 minutes or so. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else. I am getting a replacement and giving it one more try.....

I wish I could give this dryer and excellent rating and a poor rating!
I am a professional hairstylist and I purchased a Chi Rocket in July of 2006 and paid $168.00 for it at a wholesale beauty supply. After 8 months it died as I was blowing a client's hair dry. The same thing happended to another stylist at our salon.... but hers only lasted 3 months before it quit working.. Does it do a great blow dry? YOU BETTCHA! Does it dry hair 50% faster? Not really - maybe 25% faster.Is the quality there? Nope! After being a stylist for 20 years I expect a dryer at that price to last longer than 8 months. Is it still under warrenty? Yes, - but it will take 3 to 5 weeks to receive a replacement. Which means...I am going to try another ionic brand while I am waiting for my replacement and will use my Chi Rocket as a backup. One thing I did learn ionic IS the way to go

Powerful yet quiet. Cool button stays on without having to hold it down. Lights up on side to tell you how hot or cool it is, which is just kind of fun and space-age-y, makes it feel like you got what you paid for. ;-)

I LOVE the CHI rocket. I've always used ceramic hair dryer, but this one is the best! My hair is always super soft and never frizzy. And the hair dryer is so quiet and light weight!
Would recommend!!

I've used this hairdryer at home on my daughter and myself for about 3 months. It really does cut down drying time as we both have long, thick hair. I have also noticed that my hair feels softer when I use it as compared to other dryers. Neither one of us have as much of a "frizz" problem as we used to either! The only things I don't like about the dryer is that the cool button is in an awkward place and I catch myself pushing it by mistake. Also, I wish it had a medium heat setting because the cool is cold, and the hot is VERY hot. I won't let my daughter use it by herself because I'm afraid she would burn herself if she left it in place too long. But, I would buy another of these if mine went out. Overall, I love this hair dryer!

It's TRUE! It does dry your hair in less time than other dryers. It might seem a little pricey, but it is well worth it! My hair also seems to be much silkier and not as frizzy. I highly recommend it!

I ove my rocket dryer I am a stylist in NC and the humidity really is a challenge but with the rocket it seals the cuticle down and the comb attachment is great for straightening all hair textures. This chi rocket dryer surpasses the other chi drys my miles.

I love my new Rocket blow dryer, it dries my hair alot faster than any blow dryer I've ever had. The only complaint I have is that it is a little heavier than I would like, and I don't care for the on and off buttons.

This hairdryer dries my hair so fast! My hair reaches to the top of my low-rise pants and is thick and wavy. With my previous blowdryer, 1875watt, it used to take me 45 minutes, if my hair were sopping wet. Now it takes me 20 minutes and even less if my hair is partially air-dried first. It is well worth the money---especially if time is of the essence. And although I use a flat iron, my hair is less frizzy and silkier than before.

I'm very pleased with this product, I've been using it for about two weeks now. So far, so good. It actually seems like my hair is softer. I was using shampoo/conditioner for dry hair and have since switched to the type for normal hair just because of how well my hair has been since using this dryer. I think it does seem to cut down the drying time, how much I can't say. I like that it isn't extremely noisy, and that air blowing out doesn't seem so ferocious. I have read some reviews stating that it gets extremely hot--this is something that I have yet to notice. If you can afford this dryer, I would definitely recommend it!

The Chi Rocket is everything I wanted. It dries really fast and leaves my hair soft and not fried. I loved it so much I bought another for my daughter-in-law.

I read the other reviews on this hair dryer, and had to try it for myself. I have really thick long hair, and it used to take forever to dry it. The day it arrived I had to try it, it cut down my drying time, probably by at least half the time of my old hair dryer. Unlike my old dryer, this one did not heat up my bathroom. This is one GREAT hair dryer. My friends think I'm crazy for paying what I paid for JUST a hair dryer, it was worth it to me. I still have to use my chi straightner though, but my hair looks great.

This is the best dryer I have ever used. It is fairly quiet and easy to use. I felt like I was in control of my hair when I was drying it. I really realized how great this dryer is when I had to use my old dryer while away from home.

I knew when I ordered it that this dryer was going to be good, but when my family knew the price they were a bit hesitant until they used it and were very impressed. It does dry the hair quicker than your typical dryers at Sallys or something. My hair is dry and frizzy and it does dry it well without sizzling the hair. And also the cold air button was effective after using the hot heat.
