It typically takes me over 20 minutes to dry my long-thick asian hair. I was amazed that w/ my 'rocket'..it dried in about 5 minutes (NO KIDDING!!!). I am so happy with my dryer! :D
Works Great !

I love this dryer.... I read the reviews...some said they bought the T3..I did too, but hated it it took forever to blow dry and it left my hair frizzy....BUT then I bought the Chi Rocket..My hair was all dry in less than 5 min. I was amazed..plus it was sooo soft and NOT frizzy. It's worth every penny. The flat iron from chi is awsome too!

Had this dryer for over one year, I use it twice a week. First time i had it I was very pleased it dryed my hair faster and made it smooth, I have curly hair. This dryer is now broken some part of it inside has broken and everytime i use it, it burns. I would say nice dryer but made with poor quality parts.
Good dryer with reliability problems.

I am a professional stylist. The Chi Rocket was awesome at first. I loved the power and heat. I had to be skillful about not scorching my client's scalps because it was pretty darn hot. It dried most people's hair very quickly, and added lots of smoothness and shine. The dryer blew up after a few months of use. I replaced it, and the replacements subsequently blew up shortly thereafter. Granted, I used the blow-dryer all day, every day, but I still feel like I didn't get much use from it. I think it's a great drier for at-home use, but for salon use, it doesn't last long enough.
WAY overpriced...

Heavy DUTY User

I am a heavy duty dryer user. I have owned many dryers over the years. My CHI ROcket, burned out after 2 month. I open it up ( I fix them up myself ) just to discover: really poor components.
This is a lousy blow-dryer for an outrageous price.
Advice: Stay with European manufactures for quality and endurance.

This hair dryer works really well. It gets incredibly hot so it's really good for styling.

I love the fact that this dryer dries the hair very quickly but it is so hot when used on the high heat setting... My clients have complained about it burning their scalps... It does exactly what is says but beware of the high heat setting...

The Chi Rocket Professional hair dryer is jsut ok. it did'nt seem to dry my hair any faster than a $30 hair dryer. I would reccomend getting a less expensive har dryer with just as many watts becasue I think its the watt counts that matter and not the brand.
Love this Hairdryer!

This hairdryer works awesome. It dries my thick long hair quicker than my old dryer and leaves it feeling softer. The high heat setting does get hot. I was wearing a necklace once while drying my hair and it heated it up so much that it burnt my neck. It is much quieter than my other dryer and I love that its low EMF!
Not for me

Words cannot express my desapointment in this hair dryer. Before I made my decision, I read all the reviews an I saw most were good reviews so I decided to go for it. You should have seem me the day I was drying my hair...I was so mad I wanted to throw it out the window and smash it. Definitly not made for my very curly hair...I'm going to return it....I need something stronger.
Too Hot

This hair dryer is too hot. It burns my head and the only other setting is too cold. There needs to be one in-between. I expected more from such an expensive dryer.

I absolutely love this hair dryer...I bought this in January 2008 and wish I would have done so sooner. Cuts my drying time way down. I was spending 35 - 40 minutes drying, and now I can dry my hair in 10 minutes! IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!
For Frustrated Ladies with Thick Hair

Hair Type: Coarse/medium, bleached/dyed (Asian hair).
Hair Length: 6 inches past shoulders; 1'' above bra line.
Did my research. Bought BOTH Sedu/Chi hairdryers, and tried T3's evolution. I prefer CHI.. Being that I'm Asian and have dyed/bleached hair, blow drying it is a drag day after day after day.. I hope my feedback helps with those who can relate. (Btw, I'm ultra picky/a smart spender)..
SEDU (Ultrapower Professional Hair Dryer):
Overall Rating (1-10): 8
Pros-
1. Tourmaline/ion technology noticeably seals the cuticles much better (compared to the cheapo dryers from drug stores)
2. Helps to lock in moisture.
3. Reduces my hair drying time by at least 15-20 minutes (depending on the level of humidity in the air).
4. Quiet.
5. Noticeable air flow (unlike T3's Evolution).
Cons-
1. For whatever reason, every time I use this dryer, my hair seems to feel even THICKER, which bugs (I still like how it makes my hair feel healthy/moist).
2. Cold shot button doesn't seem to work as well- I don't notice the transition between cool/hot much. Doesn't seem like the cool shot button on mine even worked. Plus, I found it hard to even tell when it was or wasn't on- the button is too shallow.******
3. Weight of the dryer is a bit heavy for me.
4. Added thickness results in me having to flat iron my hair out after ALL that blow drying.
CHI (Rocket Professional Hair Dryer):
Overall Rating (1-10): 8.9
Pros-
1. Ceramic/ion technology helps to adjust the heat setting so that it doesn't get too hot. (I don't get how people can say that it gets so hot that their hair starts to smoke.. They probably have a different hair texture..)
2. Cool shot button is PERFECT. I absolutely LOVE IT! I notice the difference between the cool shot button when it was on and off (you can tell by the rainbow lighting on the side of the blow dryer when it is/isn't on).
3. Very quiet. Quieter than Sedu, not as quiet as T3 (I still really don't like T3, at all).
4. Good air flow (much better than T3's). CHI's airflow is slightly more noticeable than Sedu's.
5. Doesn't make my hair feel as thick, which I PREFER.
6. Cuts down drying time at least by 20-25 minutes.
7. End result- leaves hair feeling soft, shiny and straight without having to use a straightener, afterwards.
Cons-
1. I wished it did have some kind of tourmaline technology, one that doesn't cause the hair to feel much thicker.
OVERALL COMPARISON OF CHI/SEDU: They worked almost the same for me, except for the minor differences such as cold shot button, weight, drying time, and the feel of my hair texture after the blow dry, which made a huge difference in the end for me. I would advise women of coarse/ethnic (especially Asian, if you have it died/bleached) to purchase CHI instead, mainly because it leaves the hair feeling straight and soft without the added thickness.
Although I seem to notice a strong PR relationship Sedu has with Folica, I would rate Folica's customer service as outstanding/professional. I really like their tracking feature/timely arrival of products ordered. I give them a 9/10.
For those who complain about the placement of the high/low/off buttons for BOTH hair dryers, I don't know what the problem is. I DID NOT find ANY problems with either one of them.
Thanks!

I really thought for several days before spending the money on this dryer. I finally went ahead and bought it and am seriously glad I did. The dryer does dry a little bit faster, but my hair is so soft I love it. I use a big soft rolling brush and can get away with just that if I go section by section, and if I do flat iron after,it only takes a few minutes. I have reccomended this to everyyone I know, and I hope it lasts for years. I love it.
LOVE IT

Love, this blow dryer. My hair is super curly and long. I attach the comb and use a brush at the same time to help guide the blow dryer, it dries my hair super fast and is really straight. I still use the HAI hair straightner to go over my hair, so it is a little smoother, but I dont have to go over my hair so many times, just one glide through, since it is already straight.
amazing
