curling?
im thinking about getting the CHI straightner. and on the box it says you can curl hair too. how can you curl hair with a straightner?

you straighten the part you want curled and then leave your straightener on the bottom of your hair and twist it up hold it there then let go | | Reply by love pink

The chi works great for curling depending on what you do. To curl it you put the straightener by your roots, then turn it towards you until your hair has made one complete circle around the iron.The you pull down slowly. the bounce of the curl depends on how quickly or slowly you pull down the straightener. it takes a couple trys to get the hang of it though. thick, curly hair
My daughter is part hispanic with gorgeous thick and very curly hair. Will the Solia due the work in getting her hair straight....how do you compare this to the Chi....

I can't tell you if the Solia will do or not but I can say the CHI will definitely work!! I'm hispanic but would get my hair regularly blow dried straight at african-american beauty shops because beauticians that were white or even hispanic/latina just didn't know what to do with some much thick, course, wavy and curly hair!!
But I can say that using the CHI along with some CHI serum will most definitely work wonders! I promise you will be beyond satisfied! Ensure that you section the hair, I work with four sections, and start at the bottom working my way up to the front top.
Naturally because you are not familiar with how great the CHI is it may take 2 or 3 times to get the hang of it if you want to add a little wave to the hair!!
I completely recommend it! Throughout my youth I had no idea how to fix my hair and neither did my mom cause she has straight hair so the majority of the time my hair was in a ponytail ... now at age 29 I found the magic tool and I will never have a bad hair day anymore!! YAY!! =) Good Luck!! |
VERY ANGRY
hello I just got my CHI for this year about three weeks ago from my grandma for christmas, and it already broke. Has anybody else's CHI broken after like...two weeks? I didn't do anything to it that could make it break. I just tried to plug it in one day and it didn't turn on. Do you know how to fix it? I've tried the reset and test button and I've also tried every outlet in my house. Is anybody else's CHI's messed up like this?

I have had mine about 4 months and it has started turning on and off on its own. If you hold the cord where it connects to the iron it may stay on if not it will shut off and come back on while you are straightening your hair. That Happened To My chi Straightner Before. I Had to Replace The Heating Plate. Cause It Went Out. That Might Be What You Have To Do.

The exact thing happened to mine right after the one year marking period. I only use it like twice a month and have never dropped it or anything like that! I dont know how to get it fixed. 2 of my friends have the same straightner and it happened to theirs too. If the cord turns a certain way the thing cuts off! |

my beautician said that it gets up to 150 degrees so use a heat protector on your hair and she said it wont fry at all, ive had one for about a year and love it! dont know what id do with out it | | Reply by ken paves

your beautician is wrong, it heats to 371.36 degrees, and you dont need a heat protectant unless you go over 415, bleached hair should NEVER be exposed to heat higher than 290 degrees, ethnic hair should be heated in between 320 and 450
